[pinhole-discussion] Tim Rudman Book
Hello. I mentioned looking for this book at www.abebooks.com and note in latest digest message that everyone is sold out. Just went to the website and found Tim Rudman's book available at 8 book stores ranging in price from $15.00 on up, with 2 listings in the USA and rest in the UK. I have ordered books through this site many times with no problems. As I stated before, this is one of the best places to find out of print books and this goes for Amazon.com, Barnes Noble, etc. Inkily yours, Joe Besse Please visit my web site on the Bromoil process http://members.aol.com/joebesse/Bromoil/JB.html
[pinhole-discussion] Re: Paper negs
You get a negative image with the pinhole camera and then you sandwich it with another piece of paper to get the positive of the image. The SW Art paper does not have developer incorporated into its emulsion like some other papers do. But I can't help wondering what the purpose was for using developer-soaked paper for the first positive. It still comes out positive, right? Any ideas? [pinhole-discussion] Re: used book options
Hi gang, I also find that www.abebooks.com is also an excellent source for used and out of print books. Joe Besse Please visit my web site on the Bromoil process http://members.aol.com/joebesse/Bromoil/JB.html
[pinhole-discussion] Re: Zero 2000 problems
Thanks for everyone who answered my query. As I stated I am having this problem only on about 1/2 of my images. The ones I expose fast, that is at 1 second are usually no problem, but those at 2 seconds or longer usually have this problem. Maybe I could take the shutter off and put a piece of black tape over the hole. Zernike recommends the shutter release, but at $59.00 including shipping this is more than half the cost of the entire camera and really defeats the purpose I intended of having a reasonable camera to use. Maybe I can try filters to cut down light or use slower flilms, but really not much is available locally other than ASA 100 films. I guess I can use a neutral density filter. [pinhole-discussion] Zero 2000 camera problem
Could anyone tell me how to stop getting the lens cover in the image. Even using short exposures of 1 or 2 seconds with Verichrome 125 film I get about half of the 12 images on a roll with part of the lens cover in the photo. Wondering if people who have the cable release installed have the same problem. Help! Thanks for help on this. [pinhole-discussion] Re: Enhanced Photography Exhibit
Hi Guy, Thanks for the note. Will pass info on to our web designer. Hope you can enter. Slides due for jury judge in May. The temperature gets up here in the summer, but everything is air conditioned except the outdoors. I live in the heart of Cajun Country about 5 miles from Lafayette, LA. If you come give me a call at 337-873-8758. Joe In a message dated 2/20/01 11:07:24 AM, pinhole-discussion-request@p at ??? writes: Hi Joe, Thanks for the information. I visited the site which has all the details. One minor point on the site, though. There is a lot of text in black that is cast against a dark blue background and that makes it almost impossible to read it. Perhaps you could ask the designer to change the color of the text or the background, it would be more attractive and efficient... I sure want to know the Cajun joie de vivre and I will most likely submit a portfolio! Funny this comes, because my wife and I were talking recently about visiting Louiasiana and New Orleans and the Bayou country during the summer holidays. But we were turned off a bit when we read that the mean temperature in New Orleans in August is 28 Celcius. Is that the case and does that make holidays without air conditionning unbearable? [pinhole-discussion] Re: A lens
I have a 135MM f2.8 Canon EOS soft focus lens which works similarly to the Dreamagon, however it has the automatic focus capability and is a great lens. You can vary the focus 3 ways to give the same effect as the Dreamagon and you can buy the Canon lens in the USA. I also have a Mamiya 150MM f4.0 soft focus lens which is used on the medium format, 6x7cm and use it in my studio. This disc uses the discs like the German made Imagon lens which is imported into this country with various adapters available. Just more info on the soft focus lenses. Joe Besse
[pinhole-discussion] Zero camera
I finally got my Zero 6x6cm camera in and it is a beauty. One question bothers me though. Can you use TriX film in it? Wondering about fog from the red filmcounter window for such a fast film. Presently have Verichrome pan ASA 125 loaded into the camera. Thanks for any ideas on this question. Joe Besse
[pinhole-discussion] Zero camera, 6x6
Thanks again for all of the great comments. I have an old Oatmeal box camera which made great paper negs in years past and just received a Bender 4x5 pinhole camera kit for Christmas, which I just finished building and cannot wait to try it out. Came across the Zero website by accident and was really intrigued by it. Wish I would have gotten the Zero 6x6 camera first. I believe I will still order one with the pinhole to try out. Cheaper to use the 120 film than 4x5 Polaroid or sheet film for that matter. I can do soft focus manipulations in the darkroom to give me zone plate similiarity I guess. This is a great list and I am glad I joined. I hope to be sharing my own ideas with you people in the near future. Cannot wait to do pinhole photographs to use in my Bromoil process. [pinhole-discussion] Re: Pinhole-Discussion digest, Vol 1 #126 - 12 msgs
Dear George and Gregg: Thanks a lot for your insight on the 6x6 Zero camera. Will have to rethink wehat model I want. Also, do you prefer the zone plate over the pinhole or vice-versa? Seems to me the zone plate is rather soft focus and would be better suited for pictorials. Joe Besse
[pinhole-discussion] 6x6 Zero Pinhole camera
Can anyone tell me something about the camera made in Hong Kong, 6x6 Zero Pinhole Camera. I am relatively new to pinhole photography and I am considering the purchase of this camera. Thanks for your help. Joe Besse
