Ohhh I dunno John, I am not an original poster for this idea, but..
given your response here, I think you should know a lawsuit naming you is
coming forthwith . You see, when I read of your activity

from disbelief at what I read , that plastic surgery will now be required ,
plus the soda I was drinking at the time, spewed all the monitor, CPU and

to buy one anyhoo ) , a new paint job on the walls .

My guess is that the moderators of this discussion group will soon be
thinking of putting a disclaimer :WARNING : pinholing can be dangerous to
your health and other living things , OR do not try this at home unless
supervision is present .
Lastly , since I know this post of mine was/is WAY off topic , I just want to
part with this : Thanks John , and all, for making me laugh today .

PS, have you considered contacting the Pentagon about becoming a "secret

money into BB stocks and BB gun manufacturing Am gonna make a

Re: [pinhole-discussion] Willarney's BB Idea- Last Update! (No, Really)

2003-03-14 Thread John Moore
Here's my last update on the BB Pinhole (no, really!):

First- the good news: MY EYE GREW BACK! I'm so relieved, I was sure that I'd
spend the rest of my life looking like a pirate, or Kurt Russel in "Captain
Ron" (what a pitiful flick, take my word for it).

Second- I've updated my BB Pinhole page (see link below) with a pic of the
camera. I don't have a pic of the resulting photo because I lost the days
light. Plus, I'm a terrible shot. I hope to update the page tomorrow, unless it
rains.

Finally- Since my lawsuit is out of the window (after all- my eye did grow
back) I've decided to apply for patent protection on the New Improved BB
Pinhole Camera (TM/R/CopyRight/Etc.). I figure I stand to make BIG BUCKS off of
this baby. If anyone is interested in an investment opportunity, please contact
me as soon as possible... I'd hate for you to miss out on this fantastic
project!

Re: [pinhole-discussion] Willarney's BB Idea- Updates!

2003-03-14 Thread John Moore
Okay- modifying the nail gun was a BAD idea...

Thinking ahead, after last night's experience with the BB Gun, I decided to run
a test on the nail gun before actually firing it into the camera. After wiring
the safety open I must have moved the switch that allows multiple nailings.
Don't worry- I got all of the nails out of my left hand!

I should have a couple of pictures posted soon. My son Ian (13) & his friend
Ian (also 13) are more than happy to help with the rest of the project. We've
decided to forgo the nail gun; and to save time we're not going to try the dart
idea (we'll just wander off, shooting darts at things).

Wish us luck!

Low-tech! Great, I like that. A friend made a blow gun out of 1/2 inch copper
pipe and a
length of sharpened coat hanger with a cotton ball on the back end as packing.
When he
tried it out it went through a half inch piece of plywood.

Well, I'm an informal member of the "who cares what
size the pinhole is, let's see if we get a picture"
study working task force. I think the size of the box
will be driven by what size film/paper I have handy
and how much cardboard/foamcore I have on hand.

Okay, I've gone & made the camera. I took a 16x11x11 cardboard box (from one of
the WAY too many online auction purchases) & cut one end off & mounted a piece
of aluminum foil on the end. I then taped the hell out of it
(photoblack+carton+duct) and put it all back together for a firing test. I
don't know if the hole that the BB makes is neat enough for a clean pinhole
image- I'll have to test that later.

That's the good news... now the bad news: 1st, I cut myself with the carton
knife I was using (thankfully only once- but it was through the first layer of
skin) then, I used the BB gun that has the CO2 cartridge (WAY TOO MUCH POWER)
and the BB went through the foil, through the back of the box, bounced off of
the workbench and through my glasses & I SHOT MY EYE OUT!

So- I'll have to request the addresses of each of the original posters of this
thread, as my attorney will be contacting each of you tomorrow morning. Since I
live in California, I plan on bringing a lawsuit against each of you for not
warning me of the dangers of BB Pinholing. I'm looking for the deepest pockets
here, so you might as well make it easy on yourselves & fess up to your annual
incomes. I'm sure Marcy's collection of toy cameras has to be worth serious
bucks at this point- so I'm expecting a HUGE settlement!

If I can get some assistance with another test in the morning- I'm hoping I can
talk one of my neighbors into performing the firing sequence (while I'm busy in
the darkroom). If this works, I'll post some results here:
