The whole thing worked very well. My wife was even doing some printing in the darkroom while I was working on the computer with the screen covered with tranparent inactinic (safelight) plastic! Hope this gives you some ideas. Eventually, when we moved to our current house, we separated the computer area from the darkroom, but for a while, I missed this nice little set-up! Cheers, Guy
Re: [pinhole-discussion] scanner and darkroom
Hi again: The first question should be what are you going to do with the scanner? If you simply want something to scan images to put on web pages you can use a fairly inexpensive one. If you want to use it for some kind of digitally based reproduction you need to consider what kind of resultion you need. A high resolution scanner costs more. How much more? How much resolution do you need? On Sat, 21 Jul 2001 dibas...@aol.com wrote: I am in the process of constructing space for myself to work within. The space consists of time (less work), which is my problem to solve alone, but also a physical environment in which I can allow myself to really immerse in pinhole. I have been following the discussions regarding dark-light rooms or wet-dry rooms and have decidied to slowly allow the space for both. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a place to look for plans to construct (lay-out) either or both in one room. I tend to be a build as you need person but my partner (and main contractor) is looking for structure. Also any suggestions for a good scanner which will take 120 film and hopefully soon 4x5. I know there is a huge range in quality and price . Thanks much Donna Bassin I just returned from Egypt and perhaps will be able to post some images as soon as I learn how. ___ Pinhole-Discussion mailing list Pinhole-Discussion@p at ??? unsubscribe or change your account at http://www.???/discussion/ - Gordon J.
