The projector is a Hitachi CP-SX1350. The original MSRP was $15,000! Details are here: http://www.projectorcentral.com/Hitachi-CP-SX1350.htm After looking at the above page I'm not sure if it has an HDMI input. I do know that its native resolution (what it projects) is 1400 x 1050, and it will accept input up to 1600 x 1200. When I connected my laptop to it directly with a VGA cable xrandr immediately noted that a monitor at 1400 x 1050 was available. ___ PLUG mailing list PLUG@lists.pdxlinux.org http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug

I should have mentioned that the AV office in the basement of Smith has HDMI to VGA adapters, among other hardware. I have borrowed other hardware from them in the past. Last time I did so they held my student ID card hostage until I returned the item. ___ PLUG mailing list PLUG@lists.pdxlinux.org http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug

If I recall correctly, the projector in the room has an HDMI input. The electronics in the podium are VGA only, but if you have a long enough HDMI cable you can just stand on a table and plug it directly into the back of the projector, bypassing the podium. This will also give you better resolution, as the podium dumbs everything down to 1024 x 768. I don't recall the make and model of the projector, but it was discussed here a couple years ago when I did my presentation on Scribus. ___ PLUG mailing list PLUG@lists.pdxlinux.org http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
