[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: Bug fixes/updates for LastFM & SlimScrobbler

2006-09-20 Thread aubuti

Many thanks James. I have only given the new version a limited test
drive with the official 6.5.0 release, and things are looking good.
Changing LastFM stations via the SB is fine now.

Using LastFM with the Nokia770, Touch, and Handheld skins isn't
exploding my log files any more. But there's still a little complaining
with Nokia770 and Touch. Whenever I do something on a LastFM page in the
web UI with those skins I get this (pretty minor stuff):

2006-09-20 23:28:25.6573 ERROR: file error - html/images/index.html:
not found

Let me know if you'd like more info from my logs. Thanks again, and I
look forward to checking out the other improvements in 1.12.0.

I was just going to ask about this now that 6.5 is all official, and the
old plugin didn't work at all. I missed the thread when you first
posted.

It's so cool to have my Now Playing display back!

2006-09-20 Thread James

I've just posted a new version, 1.12.0, of the LastFM plugin at the
usual place.

Changes are:
* fixing a bug where stations couldn't be changed from the player
* online help page
* more automatic nicknames in station list
* tidied up the setup options
* fixed web interface for all skins (please DELETE old Nokia770 &
Handheld directories from Plugins/LastFM/HTML directory if you have
them)

Nope that's not it... and, as I said, the browser opens from the third

No... I configured my router at home first. My point is that I can

Are you connecting to your home Slimserver? You'd need to make sure the
ports you need (9000 and 3483) are forwarding through your firewall.
Since it worked for you without configuration, however, I'm thinking
you might not have a firewall, in which case you should get one :-).

Can you enable d_plugins debugging and try again?
Are station changes sent to LastFM?
If so, what is their response?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] can't change LastFM station via remote

2006-09-20 Thread aubuti

I'm running the latest LastFM (1.11.4) with 6.5b3 from last week (around
13-Sep). I have a number of LastFM stations defined, some based on
LastFM groups, others based on 'similar artists'. For some reason, when
I try to change the station via the SB remote, it doesn't take. Instead
it keeps playing the same station. All the stations show up on the SB
scroll list, but whether I push 'play' or right arrow, it won't change
the station.

But if I change stations via the Web UI, it works fine. Is anyone else
seeing this?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Remote Softsqueeze

2006-09-20 Thread jfalk

Imagine my amazement when I tried to connect remotely and it worked!
But so far I can only bring up the browser interface remotely. When I
installed Softsqueeze here at the office, the only message I get is
"Please wait. Connecting to Slimserver." If I click on the third icon
at the top, an appropriate browswer window opens, but I can't get
softsqueeze to connect. What settings am I missing?

It doesn't change while the screensaver is active. Just push any button to

should respect the setting.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: iTunesupdate on Tiger(Intel)

2006-09-20 Thread dabloss

Hie govardha,

I'm desperate as I've been trying to instal (since a
month!)itunesupadte on my new macbook (mac os X last version).
Problem: i'm not familiar at all with neither mac, the terminal or
perl.
A friend and I have tried everything you described:
-Installed the itunesupdate in the "hidden" PreferencePane directories.
Changed the first line of slimserver.pl to #!/usr/bin/perl.ppc -w
-Tried to instal perl module of thin version but just couldn't!!!

So the plugin seem to be properly installed (detected with the terminal
but not in the web interface). it seems to be the installation of the
perl::applescript::glue that is the problem

As you seem to have the same configuration as i have, i decided to
contact and ask you for a "non-geek" tutorial on how to instal the
perl::applescript::glue on my macbook.

i promised to build a statue if you do :-)

bye.

That was going to be my next thing to try.

I'll still get a warning from the null image file though.
I see in handheld you don't force the size of the image so I could use
spacer.gif there, but in Nokia770 it is hardcoded to 20 pixels wide!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: SlimScrobbler for SlimServer 6.5

2006-09-20 Thread Michael Herger

The only way I could find to do this is to pass in a blank cmdimage
(using spacer.gif generates a 20 pixel space) and cmdtitle (otherwise
the text is displayed) to cmdlink, but this is what generates the
warnings!

Ok, I think I do now understand. Looking at Handheld's cmdlink (part of
it):

alt="[% cmdtitle | string %]" title="[% cmdtitle | string %]">

It takes cmdtitle and tries to turn that tag into a string - which won't
work as cmdtitle is empty. So my best bet is to create a string which
won't display in HTML and use this as cmdtitle

PLUGIN_LASTFM_NOTHING
EN

Haven't tested this, though. :-)

Interesting. There should really be an option to the display text
function that says to block screensavers until it has scrolled at least
once.

Well, I'm sure there is some way to prevent the screensaver being
activated. But I haven't gone so far yet.

Did I also notice that the amount of text displayed
doesn't change with the font size?

It does calculate the wrapping when the information is read from the
internet/cache. If you change the font size afterwards, the plugin won't
redo the line wrapping.

Normally, I'd agree with you, but with slimserver I've got my scroll
rate configured just right. I guess the problem with paging is that
the squeezebox screen is just too small to display a sensible amount of
text at a time. Did I also notice that the amount of text displayed
doesn't change with the font size?
