Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] help with ir blaster please
I am using a cable to cable connection. Felix what you got to take into account I keep saying is that the volume up down works perfectly if you click test in the web but fails when you press the transporter remote so its not the cable or the line of site etc etc. clearly it's a bug coming from the the way the sofware is reading the volume commands from the transporter. it could be resending volume up / down before it finished sending the last one... or stopping sensing when its get a duplicate... the remote must be sending multiple up/down commands and its gets lost with that whereas the web interface is one clean command. -- willyhoops willyhoops's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10563 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35535 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] help with ir blaster please
Hi there Thank you for your input. I understand it's frustrating if something is not working as intended. There is a difference between pressing the test button and using the remote. Not for power on and off, but when using volume up and down. Pressing the test button sends out the command one time and is intended to see if the ir command is understand by the amplifier at all. But when using the remote the signal gets send out repeatedly which can cause issues as the one you reported. It could be that the ir commands are overlapping as you mentioned or it could be that the .conf file you've learnt is not ideal. If you are still interested I am happy to check the .conf file you have learnt. Just post it here. BTW what brand amplifier are you using? Thanks Felix -- fcm4711 Everyone said: This cannot be done. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Browse plugin
I have just started investigating Multi Library and Custom Browse. Very nice piece of work. Thanks for helping us all. My issue is the same as some other users. I have a master music directory D:\Music and two sub directories D:\Music\DTSmusic and D:\Music\MPGmusic. I never want to play anything from DTSmusic over my analog systems. I have a transporter which feeds both an analog and a digital (DTS okay) system, but not at the same time, And a squeeze box which feeds only an analog system. I see it working with Custom Browse and I undestand the operation. Two questions (1) Is there a way of eliminating the standard Browse menu from showing up on a player, so that only the Custom Browse menu is seen, in effect Browse=Custom Browse Without the extra step of Browse - Custom Browse - . . . (2) I use the CLI TCP/IP interface a lot controlling the Slimserver and players from custom touchscreens with my own GUI programs. Is there some way I can restrict the retrieveal of information to be from the library I defined in Multi Library (Stereo Library=D:\music\mpgmusic)? That is, if I do a retrieval of Albums, Some times I want the albums from the root directory D:\Music which is the master library e.g. Transpoprter playing in the Musc room through its Optical connection, but controlled from the CLI interface; and sometimes I want the albums from the sub directory D:\music\mpgmusic when I am running either player through the analog music system). Custom Browse has a CLI interface, you can create a menu that is limited to a library, basically this is done more or less automatic if you create a library in the Multi Library plugin. This menu can be browsed through the Custom Browse CLI interface, see more information about the CLI interface on the 'Custom Browse documentation on my wiki' (http://wiki.erland.homeip.net/index.php/Category:SlimServer) But I suspect that you don't want to change your current code and the Custom Browse CLI interface might be a bit different than the standard CLI interface. If you like to use the standard CLI commands in your client application and limit the result to a library, there is currently no solution with Custom Browse/Multi Library to do this. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and RandomPlayList plugins' (http://wiki.erland.homeip.net/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27043 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Multi Library plugin
A new version 1.5 of the Multi Library plugin is now available, the new functionality and changes are: - Added support for only including lossy tracks - Added support for excluding directories - Added new library type Dependent Library that makes it possible to build libraries based on other libraries NOTE 1 For the Custom Skip integration at least Custom Skip 1.2 is required. At least Custom Browse 1.21 is required for some of the new functionallity, earlier versions than 1.17 won't work at all. NOTE 2 It only supports slimserver 6.5.*. The new version is available at my 'download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) as usual. The current wish/todo list for new features in comming Multi Library releases can be found here: http://erland.homeip.net/issuetracking/do/guest/home?application=slimserver-multilibrary If anyone have more feature requests or if I have missed some feature you already have requested which hasn't been implemented, please let me know. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Scan plugin
A new version (1.18) of the Custom Scan plugin is now available, the new functionallity and changes are: Added new parameters regarding ratings in LastFM playlist Corrected problem with non ascii characters in title formats - Added Mixed Tag scanning module, makes it possible to combine custom tags and slimserver tags in any menu level order (Requires Custom Browse 1.22) - Added LastFM tags/similar artist templates for inserting in Now Playing menu and Song Info web page - Added init/exit methods for scanning modules (internal changes, not visible to en user) - Added menu templates and templates for page headers for inserting - Mixed Tag scanning module data (Requires Custom Browse 1.22) - Added Dynamic Tag menu template which makes it possible to dynamically browse your tags in unlimited number of levels and order (a bit slow at the moment) (Requires Custom Browse 1.22) NOTE! The big news this time is the Mixed Tag scanning module which makes it possible to combine standard SlimServer tags with your Custom Tags in any order you like when you create a multi level menu. But the real new thing is the Dynamic Tag menu template which makes it possible to browse your music in any order you like and any number of levels. It uses the Mixed Tag scanning module, so you will have to perform a scan with it first before you start using it. To use the Dynamic Tag men you just create a new menu using Custom Browse and select Dynamic Tag. It's a bit slow at the moment, so if you have a large music collection it might not be usable. But I would still like to get some feed back on the menu structure, because I currently feel it is a bit user unfriendly. NOTE 1 Some of the new functionallity requires Custom Browse 1.22 or later to work and the library functionality requires Multi Library 1.4 or later. NOTE 2 The LastFM and Amazon scanning modules are quite slow and will almost lock the slimserver interface during scanning, scanning will take approximately 1-2 seconds per artist/album in your library. The reason for this is license restrictions, you can choose to disable the LastFM and Amazon scanning modules if you feel this is a problem. NOTE 3 To use the Amazon scanning module you will need to apply for a free access keys to Amazon web services, see more info in included README.txt about this. NOTE 4 The Custom Scan plugin only works on slimserver 6.5 and later so don't try to use it on slimserver 6.3 or earlier. The new version is available at my 'download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) as usual. If you have felt that the Custom Browse menus where a bit static before, you should really try out the new Dynamic Tag menu delivered with Custom Scan 1.18. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Classical music example with Custom Browse/Custom Scan ?
If any of you classical music listeners is interested in trying out the latest Custom Scan(1.18) and Custom Browse(1.22) I would appreciate some feedback. The thing I would like feedback on is a new Dynamic Tag menu template that is delivered with Custom Scan 1.18. It is a completely dynamic menu, you can select which tags to include (both SlimServer standard tags and custom tags), these can be browsed in any order and any depth. At any level you can step out to Matched Albums or Matched Songs. It's currently a bit slow, so I would suggest that you try it out in a smaller collection, it is usable in my own collection with about 3000 tracks but is a bit slower than the normal menus. Personally I currently feel that the menu structure in this new Dynamic Tag menu is a bit unfriendly. The problem is that on every level you can select to: - Select a tag to browse further down in - Jump out to matching albums - Jump out to matching tracks The result is that the menu gets quite deep compared to the standard browse menus available in SlimServer and Custom Browse. The advantage of course is that you get full flexibility in which order to browse. If anyone have a better idea how to do the menu structure, I appreciate the feedback and ideas. Menu structure example of an expanded menu, values between are real objects: Code: Conductors Composers Composer1 Composer2 Conductors Ensembles Works Work1 Work2 Conductors Ensembles Matched Albums Matched Songs Song 1 Song 2 Matched Albums Matched Songs Matched Albums Matched Songs Works Ensembles So the browsing in the above example works like: 1. Select if to browse by Conductors, Composers, Works or Ensembles 2. The user selects to browse down into Composers and then get a list of all available composers 3. The user selects Composer2 and a list of available tags is shown again, this time only Conductors, Works and Ensembles is shown since there is no track which have two composers in the collection. 4. The user selects to browse further down into Works and get a list of all available works related to Composer2 5. The user selects Work2 and a list with Ensembles and Conductors is shown, but not Works this time since no track belonged to two works. 6. The user selects to browse down into Matched Songs and get a list of all songs which is related to both Composer2 and Work2 and can select and play any of them. The logic is that when you get the opportunity to choose which type of tag to browse into, only the tags which have at least one track below based on the previous selections is shown. Anyway, I think the behavior needs to be felt to understand everything, so please try it out and get back with some feedback and ideas. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and RandomPlayList plugins' (http://wiki.erland.homeip.net/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

There is a Menu group parameter in the library configuration, but it sounds like you already have that field empty. Because if you hadn't, you would have something like Libraries/Stereo Music, but it sounds like you only have Stereo Music. The Stereo Music folder itself should disappear when you have moved all the menus it contains. To also get rid of the Stereo Music part you will need to goto the Custom Browse web interface and edit each menu that is part of the Stereo Music library, you should empty the Menu group field in each menu and leave the rest parameters as they are.
