Well, Scott's error message was from OSX, and I now think it looks like
the plugin was installed in the wrong place.
The Mac users are saying these are the correct install locations for
7.0:
~user/Library/Application Support/Squeeze Center/Plugins (if SC7 is
installed for just one user)
or
/Library/Application Support/Squeeze Center/Plugins (if installed for
all users)

But you're on XP!
Have you installed the plugin in server/Plugins not
server/Slim/Plugins?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP - Pressing Play does nothing

2008-01-13 Thread Rick B .

I'm using SS version 6.5.1 - considering upgrading to the latest 6.5.x.
Perhaps this will help.

I navigate from Browse and have tried going to Album or Artist or Genre
- same result for all.

Funny thing is that I did a full re-scan and the "press and hold play"
routine worked again - for only one mix, and then nothing.

Thanks for trying to help, Erland.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help - Plugin To Turn Off PC

2008-01-13 Thread coffeejunky

Hi all,
Hope someone will be able to enlighten me, I would like a plugin that
turns off my pc when I hold down the sleep button for 5 secs. I have
done a forum search which brought up 3 options, my results are as
follows-
*Runscript- Crashed slim.exe whenever the shutdown script tries to run
*ShutdownServer- Never worked, script didn't run but it didn't crash
slim.exe
*Execute Script- Can only turn PC off whenever Squeezbox3 is turned off
(I don't want my pc to turn off EVERY time I put the sb3 into standby,
just when I want it to)
If anyone has any ideas how to make any of the above plugins work the
way I want them to, please help me. I run Windows Vista and Slimserver
version 6.5.4 - 12568 - Windows Vista - EN - cp125.
I have little knowledge with perl but am willing to try providing I
have some help.
Thanks,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: AlienBBC v2.00 BETA 4

2008-01-13 Thread Neil Sleightholm

We are pleased announce a new release of AlienBBC. This release is a
beta release of v2.00 and is only compatible with SqueezeCenter 7.0. As
this is a BETA release we cannot a fully support it, also if things
change in 7.0 then this release may stop working - it has been tested
with revision 16229(and requires at least r15843).

This release addresses the following issues:
- Podcast update to fix title problem and add UK Only warning when
necessary.
- Fix bug in search WebUI instance with no clients.
- Maintain timestamps for distribution.

The update can be downloaded from http://www.x2systems.com/alienbbc/.

Please post any comments or suggestions to the Slim Devices 3rd Party
Plugins forum (please post individual issues as new posts rather than
replying to this post).

Thanks, The AlienBBC Team

[SlimDevices: Plugins] IRBlaster Delay Questions

2008-01-13 Thread gby

I have IRBlaster 7_05_31_V413 working with my SB3 on Slimserver 6.5.3.
My problem/question is around the button delay feature.

I am trying to have the slim remote power button turn my Onkyo 875
receiver on and then select the input that the SB3 is connected to when
powering up the SB3. I have set the two commands up just fine and
individually they work when I push the Test button just fine.

When I power on the SB3 the receiver turns on as desired but does NOT
select the input. If the receiver was already on turning the SB3 on
does successfully switch the input. Given this result it seemed like
the issue was needing a delay after the receiver turn before selecting
the input source. I played with the delay selections and could not get
it to work even with both button delays at the maximum value of 10. In
fact, it seemed like all delay settings gave the same nearly zero delay
to my eye.

My questions are:

1. What are the units of the delay drop down? mSec, seconds, or
something else?

2. Does the delay selected happen before or after the button to its
left on the screen? In other words, if I have two buttons in sequence
and I want a delay between the end of the first and the start of the
second button do I select the first or the second delay drop down to
adjust?

3. Anybody have any ideas how to get thsi to work?

Thanks,

gby

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC Skip

2008-01-13 Thread Wigster

Hi,

Running SC7 with AlienBBC 2 beta 3 on Windows.

Is it possible to skip forward in a BBC Radio 1 Listen Again stream.
The BBC iPlayer application allows you to skip 5 or 15 mins forward, so
I guess this is theoretically possible at least.

I listened to half of a show, and right now would like to just hear the
part I hadn't.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I think it is an issue with mplayer - if the stream is paused for more

Does this have the ability to use lyric .txt files alongside the played
track ?

For example, I have ABC/LexiconOfLove/01.ShowMe.mp3 and
ABC/LexiconOfLove/01.ShowMe.txt beside it. I manage the obtaining of
these lyric text files independantly of slimserver and it seems
sensible to use any text file if it's already there.

I have a vague recollection of previously making changes to the lyrics
plugin to support this, but I don't remember whether I ever sent them
to you. If I didn't, I guess I could probably update it again...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC Skip

2008-01-13 Thread bpa

In SS 6.5 - you could skip ffwd/rew using the remote and the web
interface.

In SC7 - I think only the web interface provides the skip ffwd/rew.
The ability of a plugin to "grab " the FFWD/REW button pushes on remote
is not available. It is a known issue but I think will not be addressed
in 7.0. Similarly the SBC (aka Jive) cannot do ffwd/rew at the moment.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC loses position on pause

2008-01-13 Thread bpa

yes - it is a problem with mplayer and how it acknowledge TCP packets.

I think pause might work if you removed the "--bandwidth 1000"
options in the custom-convert.conf file but then it will take 10-15
secs to start a stream after ffwd or rew which makes ffwd/rew not as
usable. I think it all goes back to mplayer's implementation of
"Turboplay".

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC Skip

2008-01-13 Thread Triode

Actually in SC7, its possible to skip from the IR based remote, but not
from the web interface or jive.

The reason for this is that the SC7 version of Alien is more closely
integrated with the server (this is what gives jive support etc, but it
means that the old web page skipping has been lost - we need to think
about how to get this back.)

socketwrapper (used as part of AlienBBC) also has a safety "kill
stream" mechanism.

In any event, since ffwd works for you - you can stop stream and then
later ffwd to the desired spot which is nearly the same functionality.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunes Update/PartyShuffle Plugins for SC7.0

2008-01-13 Thread skillsrhodes

I'm not sure, but I think it already is.

In log.conf - log4perl.logger.plugin.itunesupdate = DEBUG

And in iTunesUpdate.pl - my $ITUNES_DEBUG = 1;

Is there someplace else?

It took a while, but it's done now!

There's a new version (2.2.193) on the website. Note that this requires
SqueezeCenter 7.

http://insignificant.org/wiki/index.php/LiveDepartures

Two significant new features:
* London Underground
* extra detail for journeys (where available). This will give extra
detail for Underground lines when the service isn't good, and departure
platforms for stations such as Birmingham.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with Using Softsqueeze Remotely

2008-01-13 Thread dminches

When you use the term laptop I assume you are referring to the remote
machine running Squeezesoft that I am using to access Slimserver on my
home computer. Assuming that is the case why would I have to open up
port forwarding on my laptop? Wouldn't I need to do that on the router
that my home computer is connected to and the firewall on that same
machine? For the remote machine don't I just have to connect to the
real IP address of my home router?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Timed on/off display plugin for SC7?

2008-01-13 Thread peterw

I understand from Felix that he expects to release an SC7 version of
Auto Display, thanks to the work of Tobias Goldstone.

As I told Felix, Auto Display is the only 3rd party plugin on my "must
have" list that's not yet available for SC7. :-)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Timed on/off display plugin for SC7?

2008-01-13 Thread kolding

I was just about to write Felix about hacking on his Autodisplay for SC
7. I've got a pretty primitive version, not yet ready for primetime,
but mostly doing it's thing. No web interface, only programmable from
the display.

Felix, if you're reading this, let me know if you'd like my changes, or
if you've got something in place already. I'll try to find your email
and touch base with you that way too.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with Using Softsqueeze Remotely

2008-01-13 Thread davep

I assumed from your first mail when you said "I am running Slimserver on
my laptop and have been able to access the music at home by attaching
via my home IP address xx.xx.xx.xx:9000. I can see all my music folder
so I know this part is working." that this meant that you had a laptop
as your server, since you don't run Slimserver on the client machine,
just a browser (and Softsqueeze if you want a player).

To be clear, you need to open up ports on the home computer you are
using as a server, not on the remote machine. You then connect to the
"outside world" ip address of the home router and forward the ports
from there to the local ip address of the server machine.
