Thanks for all the info, very helpful! Yup, the above seems to be the
case. I put in my exact position and I still get back the nearest
airport. It would seem that the other station that I was trying to get
only has the current observations.

It's a shame I can't specify what station I want to use for the current
observation separately from the station used for forecasting. Then
again, I can just look out of the window!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Loaded 7.0.1 Lost XM

2008-06-04 Thread Howard Passman

Thanks Stephen. Nothing sounds stupid when your trying to get something
like this working again.

I rolled back to 7.0.0. That made me re-enter all of my account info
again and that still didn't help.

The window says I am logged in and the menu shows. WHen I click on a
menu item I get the header (Browse, Favorites, etc.) but nothing in the
window as far as stations, etc. I can even go to where it says enter a
station and after I click it, nothing.

I don't do any programming, but I swear the url that comes up when I
click those menus are wrong.

I'll keep messing with it, but I really miss channel 46 :-(

Thanks,

Howard

I think that would be a great enhancement (but yeah, looking out the
window is also an option!) as I'd like to use a rapid-fire weather
station for current observations, and a forecast enabled weather
station for forecasts (in theory the latter could be automatically
derived from the "Citycode" of the former, or a second "Citycode" field
could be added to the plugin and either left blank or populated with the
specifics of a forecast-enabled weather station).

Unfortunately though, it seems that most of the rapid fire stations I
tried are not supported by the Wundeground API as the XML response is
often empty, so I don't think this approach would work, but I'd love to
be proved wrong. That said, there is a different XML feed available for
rapid-fire stations which could be used, but so far I think what we
have is a quick hack to translate from Weather.com format to
Wundeground.com and more work may be required to make it more
flexible.

It would also be good to have Humidity displayed as an alternative to
precipitation (which has disappeared since the move to Wundeground).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Does deleting the cache files make you lose trackstat ratings?

2008-06-04 Thread Ashy72

Thanks Erland, Why dont the ratings work from programs like windows
media player or realplayer with trackstat? At one stage a long time ago
I had rated the tracks in windows media player. I checked out
musicbrainz there wasnt any information on that website about ratings
is this an automatic thing? I like the idea of music brainz as it will
work on my linux machine (my squeezecenter music server).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SuperDateTime stopped working

2008-06-04 Thread whitman

My SuperDateTime screensaver has stopped working on my SB3 running
6.5.4. I have it set to display on power off. But for the last few
days it just displays a WeatherChannel logo and none of the usual
information readouts.

I notice on the SDT site that it says for version 6.5 "No longer being
updated. HTML parsing may stop functioning." I don't know what HTML
parsing is, but could this be a clue? And why no updates for a version
that many of us continue to use?

Ashy72;308501 Wrote:

There is no standard way to transfer the ratings. If you install Custom
Scan and use the RatingTag scaning module, I think you will be able to
transfer Windows Media Player ratings to TrackStat if you have
configured Windows Media Player to write rating information to the
files. However, there is no easy way to transfer the ratings from
TrackStat to Windows Media Player. I don't know how realplayer stores
it ratings. Export/Import of ratings in both directions currently only
exists through Custom Scan for MusicIP, iTunes and Amarok media
players.

Musicbrainz doesn't handle ratings, it just write a unique identifier
to each track which makes it possible for TrackStat to know that the
track is the same even if you have renamed or moved a specific music
file.

Ashy72;308501 Wrote:

It takes less than a minute in my library of about 3000 tracks,
actually I think it is more like 10 seconds. When the restore is
finished it will write a message to the SqueezeCenter log file
(accessible through SqueezeCenter Settings/Logging in the web
interface).

You will have to enter the full name of the file you like to restore.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.65 (windows front-end)

2008-06-04 Thread Fleury

I installed the latest Moose version 0.66, and immediately saw a BIG
improvement in stability, ease of use, speed etc., really great job,
and much faster with the cover art than SC 7.0.. But I'm having the
same problem I had with the earlier versions I tried and abandoned.
Moose can't find moo, wan't to rescan? Every time I start moose on my
xp SP2 Dell desktop, it looks for the moose.moo file in whatever
directory I was last using before I started moose (I don't load it auto
at startup, but from the exe file when I'm ready to use it).

For example, I was ripping a DVD from c:/media/dvd decrypter/etc..., so
the message I got today was moose can't find moo in c:/media/dvd
decrypter/ etc...substitute the path of whatever program I was last
using before starting moose. Am I missing something basic? Why is there
no setting to specify where the moo file is (and always will be on my
machine)? Seems like a rather basic option, and an easy feature to add.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2008-06-04 Thread gharris999

This beta version is a modification to Adrian's Server Power Control
plugin. The plugin is designed to allow you to shutdown your
SqueezeCenter server via your SqueezeBox's IR remote or via a SBC.

Features:

Updated for SqueezeCenter 7.0 & 7.1.
Support for the SqueezeBox Controller (SBC a.k.a. Jive).
This version attempts to work on both Windows & Linux servers.
Supports suspend & hibernation on Windows servers.
Supports shutting down the sever and switching the player over to
SqueezeNetwork.

Requirements:

Uninstall any old version of the plugin you may be using. I've
changed the name of the plugin from "PowerCtrl" to "SrvrPowerCtrl" to
help differentiate it from other power centric plugins (e.g.
PowerCenter, PowerSwitch, PowerSave, etc.)

For Windows servers, the plugin requires the SysInternals free
utility "psshutdown.exe"

Requests for testers:

Things I'd like to see folks testing here:

Windows: does it work at all? I haven't had a chance to do much
testing.

Does the plugin work with Vista?

Does this plugin work with Mac OSX? What has to happen to make it
work?

Linux: does the plugin work with distros other than Fedora?

Please post you experience with the plugin and any suggestions to this
thread.

Thanks,

Gordon Harris

Am I doing something wrong ?
Is it correct that in the jive folder I got three files:
BiographyApplet.lua, BiographyMeta.lua and strings.txt ?

Any hint from your side is very much appreciated...

Hi Fleury,

Strange, it should look alongside the exe by default.. There is a setting
though in the Scanning tab. If you set the 'moo file' edit text to be a full
path to your moo file: "C:\program files\moose\moose.moo" for example,
it should always use the file in that location. It sounds like your windows
current directory is changing and moose is somehow picking it up..

Hope that helps,

Yes.. Actually I've been working on a new playlist control for a while
now with proper column toggling options and things.. When it's working
a bit better I'll swap it with the old one and it'll do some of this kind of
stuff.. It'll also auto-resize the column widths a bit more automatically,
which'll be nice..

Probably make the version after next.. :-)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugin for iTunes purchased music

2008-06-04 Thread audiofan

Has anyone tried to develop a plugin to allow music purchased from the
iTunes store to be played via Squeezecenter. I have used a similar
plugin for Winamp, although it does require iTunes to be installed on
the same PC. It does work pretty well.

I am just wondering if anyone has tried this or is willing to give it a
try. After reading these forums, it appears that there are many people
who would be very happy to find a plugin for this! :)

Thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SuperDateTime stopped working

If you had to update your player firmware the plugin can get confused
about what state it is in. Either restart SlimServer or hit the '+'
button on the remote.
