Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sirius (Canada) plugin not working - gotLogin:Login failed
Thanks for the update Greg... at least it confirms now there is indeed a bug. I'd be curious to hear from other Sirius Canada subscribers if they all suffer this now? And of course, totally understandable that real life is keeping the plate full. I look forward to you finding some downtime to take a peak and see if this can be fixed. Let me know if there's anything that can be done on this side. [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM Plugin Not Working with SqueezeNetwork
I was able to get the XM plugin to show up on the plugin list on the new SqueezeNetwork software, but received a message that it needs to be updated. There is no update! I'm very unhappy with SqueezeNetwork since XM Radio was the main reason I bought the Squeezebox. There should have been some sort of warning not to upgrade to SqueezeNetwork indicating that plugins (most of the previous ones) do not work with this latest software. I also don't like the idea that the program can now detect that I use the device outside the US. I travel a lot and must stay months at a time outside the US and take Squeezebox with me. Before, I could access everything I could access in the US anywhere in the world. Now I connect my notebook computer to my stereo to get XM and everything else I pay for in the US. I guess I'll have to buy a new notebook with a better sound card. Will there be a new plugin for XM? The authors of the software (two of them) do not have an email link to them. -- donnyx donnyx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19313 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50966 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
Couple of things for me - 1) Running on Vista 32-bit with 7.2 nightly, the application 'PsShutdown' isn't there in the standard build. Get the PsTools collection from TechNet and install in C:\Windows. 2) A weird thing. Vista power profile is set without any sleep timer, but a press on the power button will put it to sleep and keyboard will wake it up and it'll stay running. I found that if I sleep the system using SvrPowerControl, then use WOL from the SB3 the machine will stay on while SB3 is active. A few *seconds* after stopping playout on the SB3, Vista goes back to sleep. AFAIK the 'idle player' watchdog is disabled. -- amcluesent amcluesent's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Lyrics plug-in pquestion : Carly Simon instead of Simon and Garfunkel
I sent an e-mai to Flavio - lyrdb developer and he was very kind to send me response with detailed explanation and proposed solution which should be implemented in plug-in. Meanwhile I've renamed the artist name to change to and - I don't know when lyrics plug-in's developer is going to make this change if at all. I'll try to communicate with hime directly. Here is the response from Flavio Flavio González Vázquez wrote: The issue you are reporting is a escaping problem by the squeezebox plugin. It is true that when you look for Simon Garfunkel you get songs of Carly Simon (I have checked it), but that is because the ampersand is a metacharacter in URLs, as it is used to split the parameters in the URL. The URL that is being called by the plug-in is: http://webservices.lyrdb.com/lookup.php?q=Simon Garfunkelfor=fullt In this way, the query (q parameter) would only contain Simon and the ampersand would start a new parameter Garfunkel without a value, that is ignored by the script because it is unknown. That's why it return the wrong artist, as it doesn't include the Garfunkel keyword at all. The solution is to escape the ampersand as %26, and then the URL may look like this: http://webservices.lyrdb.com/lookup.php?q=Simon %26 Garfunkelfor=fullt Now it returns both Simon Garfunkel and Simon And Garfunkel songs, even Simon Garfunkel (Paul Simon Art Garfunkel) (check it by yourself by clicking on the right URL (the last one with the ampersand escaped). The conclusion is that you must escape any non-alphanumeric character you pass to the script. As I am not the developer of the squeezebox plugin, you may tell the developer to do that, but this is not very difficult to do, as it may only take 1 minute to accomplish ;-) I hope you don't have to rename artists again, as this is not your fault and the database must return you the right songs whatever version of the artist name you provide! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC addon to read iPlayer menus
Thanks to bpa and Matt's posts, I've figured out why I cannot play some recent listen again (have SC7.0/AlienBBC and AddOn v3). Looks like the particular ReadAudio streams I'm after are non-existent (i.e. the iplayer dial-up modem version's .ram is present but is zero bytes). So no chance of just pulling the stream by flashget either :-( AFAIK this is due to the beeb having some 'technical difficulties'. So I have some questions (vaguely related to the thread I guess)... - Anyone know how long this position will last (or any BBC resource/page/blog I can keep an eye on)? - Are they intending to retain support for .ra streams? - I assume I am in the same boat as everyone else, i.e. as long as keep up-to-date with bpa's addons, then I'm just then at the whim of the bbc. There was mention of V4 to fix some syntax errors in iplayer.opml - couldn't find it myself (having assumed uses xml/sgml syntax...) - hopefully these are causing the parser errors and not more bbc shenanigans. Like many others, I'm much indebted to bpa's work as we've a couple of sb3 used primarily for listen again.
