Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC and Qnap 409
Hi, thanks for trying that out. Really appreciated! I managed to get this working my disabling RTSP - FLAC and MP3 from the settings in SC web interface. I'm back to square one tho. All BBC stations seem to rebuffer after about 7-8 seconds. I'll try another mplayer bin and see if this helps. Do you have any further advice ref rebuffering (I previously was running AlienBBC fine on Slimserver 6.5 so I'm not sure it's a network issue) Thanks again -- stebrennan stebrennan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22177 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC and Qnap 409
If it works with just WAV and not MP3 or Flac - then you have a CPU problem. The CPU is overloaded and cannot decode RealAudio and re-encode into MP3 or Flac in RealTime. That make me believe you are using the wrong version of mplayer-stdout - if the processor in your 409 does not have a FPU it will be v. slow at decoding and so you get bursts as it takes longer to decode than it takes to broadcast. If you are getting continuous audio (i.e. no loss of content) but with gaps of silence then it is CPU. If you are getting audio where some audio has been replaced with silence - then you have a network problem. If the problem is CPU then try a mplayer with fixed point (i.e. ends with -fp). -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Hi, I've upgraded the firmware on my Netgear router. So far this seems to have had some effect. Live streams are working pretty well - I'm still having problems with listen again, but not the same rebuffering issues - these seem to be more issues with connecting to the BBC now. (endless clash of policies, complex code, heavy maintenance, unhappy users) For me, a clear indication is if the routine also reports on players connected to SN at the time of the query. If it doesn't, then I feel the contract is too weak. SN does/will muck with alarms and SC being asleep couldn't do anything to avoid failure. If it does, there's a good chance you shouldn't have to care at all about DST changes. I agree: I think that I won't really know where I stand until I can do some serious testing. If it returns -1 (Fall back) I could postpone the rtc wakeup for an additional hour. Please tell me that the French, that great nation of rationalists, don't do anything as bizzare as is common in the States: allowing small, local units of government to opt out of observing DST. There is no DST for the entire state of Arizona. You used to find individual counties in states like Indiana that didn't observe DST. Thus the map of the edge of a time-zone in the US ends up looking furry and changes from season to season. But in France, it's all just one time-zone, right? I ask this because my dream of the ultimate beta test of SrvrPowerCtrl would involve a SqueezeBox, a small 12v powered SqueezeCenter server with my music collection, a barge and the Canal du Midi. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Dynamic Playlists in Favorites
It seems to work in my own setup. Does the dynamic playlist you have setup as a favorite work if you launch the playlist directly from the Dynamic Playlists menu ? Does it work when you launch it as a favorite ? If both above works, do you have some playlist option or other filtering (for example with Custom Skip plugin), that could have caused the playlist to have no matching tracks at the time when the alarm was triggered. I think the backup alarm handling doesn't work correctly when used with a Dynamic Playlist playlist. The situation is probably the same with other favorites, it's just that other favorites never fails to add a track so it is only reproducible with Dynamic Playlist (since there might be no tracks matching the playlist criteria with Dynamic Playlist). -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57071 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
