Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Dear friends, Props on such a fine product. It exceeds my expectations in terms of the GUI and the performance. Lovely. It took some getting used to, but I have never used iPods or phones before, so it is probably highly intuitive for users of these machines. I bought the touch over the controller - also to have a handheld internet reader, but thats for a different thread. My issues is as follows: When iPeng starts, and the SB3 or SB3s are connected directly to SN, the players are not recognised by iPeng. I have to either use the remotes to come back into SC or else SC via browser. It works ok the other way, iPeng obviosuly recognises players that are connected to SC, and they can be connected to SN via iPeng. Am I doing something wrong? Many thanks! Although both stations above are in Chailey (South and North respectively) Wunderground seems to aggregate their data as Ringmer or Newhaven (depending on how you try to get to it on the site). I have added a Random genre to the tracks that I have deemed suitable to be part of a random mix, so a track say Let It Be by The Beatles as its GENRE tag set as Rock;Random so that it is part of both the Rock and Random genres. I want to play Random songs from all of my tracks that have the Random genre. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Moose installation problems
Ok, I got it working and just in case it might help somebody else I will post what I had to do: First I followed all of the Moose instructions. The problem I was having was caused by the fact that there are two configuration files for MySql on the ReadyNas. My setup: ReadyNas NV+ Squeezecenter 7.2 PC client XP SP2 When I sshd into the nas I navigated to the directory /usr/share/squeezecenter/MySQL this is the directory that contains the my.tt file which looks like the following: Code: datadir = [% datadir %] language = [% language %] port = [% port || 9092 %] socket= [% socket %] pid-file = [% pidFile %] log-error = [% errorLog %] innodb_fast_shutdown = 1 max_connections = 4 thread_concurrency= 4 log-warnings = 0 # bind-address = [% bindAddress %] default-character-set = utf8 default-collation = utf8_general_ci key_buffer= 2M max_allowed_packet= 1M table_cache = 64 sort_buffer_size = 512K net_buffer_length = 8K read_buffer_size = 256K read_rnd_buffer_size = 512K [client] socket= [% socket %] The only change I made to this file was to comment out the bind-address option. I'm not sure this is even necessary but Ididn't bother to change it back to test. Now the part that had me stumped: On the ReadyNas navigate to /etc/mysql in this directory you will find my.cnf this file looks like: Code: [client] port= 3306 socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock [mysqld_safe] socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock nice= 0 [mysqld] # # * Basic Settings # user= admin pid-file= /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock port= 3306 basedir = /usr datadir = /var/lib/mysql tmpdir = /tmp language= /usr/share/mysql/english skip-external-locking # Instead of skip-networking the default is now to listen only on # localhost which is more compatible and is not less secure. - my.cnf 1/74 1% [client] port= 3306 socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock [mysqld_safe] socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock nice= 0 [mysqld] # # * Basic Settings # user= admin pid-file= /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock port= 3306 basedir = /usr datadir = /var/lib/mysql tmpdir = /tmp language= /usr/share/mysql/english skip-external-locking # Instead of skip-networking the default is now to listen only on # localhost which is more compatible and is not less secure. # bind-address= 127.0.0.1 #skip-networking innodb_buffer_pool_size = 6M key_buffer_size = 16k myisam_sort_buffer_size = 16k max_connection = 20 # # * Fine Tuning # key_buffer = 16k max_allowed_packet = 16M thread_stack= 128K # - my.cnf 1/74 1% #skip-networking innodb_buffer_pool_size = 6M key_buffer_size = 16k myisam_sort_buffer_size = 16k max_connection = 20 # # * Fine Tuning # key_buffer = 16k max_allowed_packet = 16M thread_stack= 128K # # * Query Cache Configuration # query_cache_limit = 1048576 query_cache_size= 32768 query_cache_type= 1 # # * Logging and Replication # # Both location gets rotated by the cronjob. # Be aware that this log type is a performance killer. #log= /var/log/mysql.log #log= /var/log/mysql/mysql.log # # The following can be used as easy to replay backup logs or for replication. #server-id = 1 #log-bin= /var/log/mysql/mysql-bin.log # See /etc/mysql/debian-log-rotate.conf for the number of files kept. max_binlog_size = 16384 #binlog-do-db = include_database_name #binlog-ignore-db = include_database_name skip-bdb # # * InnoDB # # InnoDB is enabled by default with a 10MB datafile in /var/lib/mysql/. # Read the manual for more InnoDB related options. Nope. Multiple players makes no difference. When it came online i had to do factory resets on both controllers to get them to connect to SC - the reciever + 2 controllers now work as they should... Softsqueeze now doesn't work - when i try to play music the display of the controllers say music is playing: the first 30 secs of the selected song plays and then it starts over again... but i hear no music... The list is not a list of audio devices but a list of audio sources. For example the list does not include audio output which is the important aspect for what u hear. I'll ask the same question differently - is the Audigy an addin card and has the motherboard of your PC got a sound output socket (usually light green). When you go to Sound control panel/audio tab when you select Audigy as the default device. Click Volume and then detail all the settings. 1. What inputs are available. 2. Which inputs are selected 3. What are the volume settings. Sorry... Yes, the audigy is an add-on card (which was added in-factory). The Motherboard does have an on-board sound card (it has never been used and it doesn't show up anywhere as I believe it is disabled in BIOS). When visiting the panel you describe and clicking volume, I am sent to the XP sound mixer which shows the 'play control' levels. These are: Wave, MIDI Synth, CD Digital, Auxiliary, CD Audio, Line-in and Microphone. None are muted and all but the microphone have their levels between 30 and 100%. If I change the mixer to show 'Recording Control', I am shown sliders for: MIDI synth, What-U-Hear, S/PDIF-In, CD Digital, Analog Mix, Microphone and Wave. Once again, all faders are between 30 and 100% and What-U-Hear is selected (and at about 70%). The odd thing is that the Wave Input plugin is definitely capturing from my webcam as I have no other microphones connected to the computer (the microphone socket on my Audigy soundcard is not connected to anything). Everything else seems to be working fine (including MIDI etc - I'm a music teacher and composer/arranger by trade and have never encountered any problems either with MIDI, wave files or CD). Fingers crossed that I can get this sorted. Thanks for your help. The problem is, I have some reports of this behavior but have never been able to reproduce it myself so it's a bit hard to fix. No I didn't but I've now upgraded to 1.1.1 as you suggest below. Forgive me but how I do uninstall and reinstall? Touch and hold the program icon on the iPhone's start screen, when it starts to wobble, press the x to uninstall. You reinstall it through the AppStore. Don't worry if it says you have to buy it again, you won't. Another alternative is to use iTunes, there's an Applications tab in the device pane (NOT the section on the left below your library). Here you can deselect iPeng, sync, select it again and sync again. There are some reports that iPeng is having trouble to start up when there is no connection to the internet (that is, the router's internet connection is off). What am i doing wrong? iPeng does not automatically move the player to SqueezeNetwork when you change the Music Source. The reason for this is that a lot of users have more than one player and do not necessarily want to switch all their players to SN at the same time. So you have to switch the player to SN before you change the source or the player will still be connected to SC and so you can see it only when iPeng is also connected to SC. Can you clarify what you have written - When visiting the panel you describe and clicking volume, I am sent to the XP sound mixer which shows the 'play control' levels. These are: Wave, MIDI Synth, CD Digital, Auxiliary, CD Audio, Line-in and Microphone. None are muted and all but the microphone have their levels between 30 and 100%. If these are play controls then these should be outputs but microphone and Line-in are not outputs. Something is wrong about your description or configuration. I think the wavin2cmd only supports PCM stream with 16bit/44.1kHz sampling. You should check that this is the quality used for What u Hear - I don't know how this is done in XP perhaps there is a special s/w utility which sets it. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Typically if microphone is configured as a playback device you will get feedback. So just because the device is on the list doesn't mean it is not causing any problem. The issue is not quality but that wavin2cmd may not be able to take an audio feed from an incompatible source whereas if SoundForge has conversion routine - it may be able to use the source. For this reason the Recorder accessory can be a better test app as it has minimal functionality and no conversion so you can do limited checking of the audio source settings by examining the format of the recording. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You should try the wavin2cmd command directly with different input devices and play the wav file after each run. Try 0 to 6 wavin2cmd.exe -w -o wavin:0 audiocapture.wav I have a vague feeling that there may have been a problem using device number after wavin: and so perhaps you could also try with the -i or or -d option with device number and name respectively. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
