[SlimDevices: Plugins] Experimental BBC AAC/Flash Streams in WAV

2009-07-23 Thread ian_heys

I've been looking at a couple of experimental ways of streaming the BBC
Flash Player AAC streams to my Squeezebox.

Here are the details.

Experiment 1

Developed here

http://heysfamily.matt-heys.co.uk/get_iplayer

Experiment 2

Developed by Phil Lewis

http://linuxcentre.net/ (see the post of 22nd July.

Both stream the high quality AAC streams as WAV to the squeezebox and
can select the BBC streams from the Squeezebox menu.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-07-23 Thread daviseh

I just bought a Duet receiver without the controller based upon the
threads I saw on ipeng. The website says all you have to do is turn it
on and it finds the player but that does not seem to be working for me.

I installed ipeng on my iphone and setup the SB receiver using net
udap. I was able to play my Pandora stations from Squeezecenter and then
make changes to the music source with ipeng.

However, I don't understand what is happening. The next day ipeng does
not find the player and I had to run udap again. I tried squeeze play
and that found the player and gave me a pin but you have to go thru this
every time you turn it on. I have the receiver hard wired and the router
is set for DHCP.

I saw that there is an ipeng plugin for Squeezecenter but this looks
like a skin for squeezecenter and is not required for the iphone app.

Also, I don't see where ipeng has the "turn on and turn off receiver"
feature of the controller.

I have been thru the online info and thru this thread but still can't
make sense of this.

Any help would be appreciated.

CDplayer will play the whole CD through WebUI and SB3 but I think there
is a bug is SC 7.3.x which prevents this happening using the controller

Hi

thanks for your swift reply.

Running SB Version: 7.3.3 - 27044 with CDplayerWin1v03

I restarted my pc and now when I select the track it does appear in the
"playing" window and is playing no problem.

While the track is playing I checked the log file and found the

Try this:
Use the squeezecenter web interface on a computer.
Go to "Internet Radio" then "Tune in URL".
Type in the following links one by one (hit "+" instead of "play" after
each"
http://www.rthk.org.hk/smi/rthk/radio1/Hongkongstory/20090601.smi

http://www.rthk.org.hk/smi/rthk/radio1/Hongkongstory/20090604.smi
This will create a now playing list of 4 items. The first one
squeezecenter will get the title and the other 3 are items with no
title.
Now, try to start iPeng application and it would crash after connecting
to squeezecenter.

BTW, the links are story archive from radio hong kong. The titles are
in chinese so you may not be able to read it.

My bad, I see it there... For some reason I thought these links were
available from the expanded Album and Artist Views of the Web UI.

Why is it required that a player be connected in order to access this
information?

Btw, I'm still getting the deprecated function warning messages in the
server log from your plugins. I'm also getting these messages from other
plugins. I was told in another thread that these messages were harmless
and that they will eventually be fixed by the plugins' authors when the
plugins are updated to work with SQLite builds.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-07-23 Thread Honva

I would like to report a possible bug causing iPeng application on ipod
touch to crash.
When there are items in the now playing list with no title name, iPeng
keep crashing during start up.
It happens when you add more than one link using the "add url" feature.
After the first item, Squeezecenter does not get the title for the
subsequent links added through "add url".
If iPeng is currently open, it may not crash right the way. However,
once you minimize it and re-open it, it will crash right after
initialization.

The workaround I am using now is to manually create a m3u playlist for
the list of urls and add a title name for each one of them. Then load
the playlist in squeezecenter.

I am using Squeezecenter Version: 7.3.4 - 27488 on Ubuntu, Squeezebox
3, ipod touch.

Thanks for looking into it.

It's a known issue with the detection of cache changes.
The problem is that SqueezeCenter always clears the playlists, even if
you do a "only scan new and changed files" rescan.

Flushing the cache is currently the only help.
