I tried to do a complete clear+rescan. So there's something wrong with the MusicIP import when importing all data. The information is misleading - the step shows it completed in 05:04, but the log shows that MusicIP scan failed after 0 seconds. The failure didn't stop subsequent steps from failing - is this expected? From memory, I thought that if a step crashed, it prevented other steps from executing too. [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunesUpdate and 7.4
I have just changed from 7.3.4 to the latest 7.4 beta and find that iTunesUpdate no longer works (it reports nothing is playing). Worked just fine before. Is this a known problem, or is it down to something on my system? Good, then. For the record, trying to run this applet may have broken the other screensavers on the current controller version. Instead of Flicker or even Classic clock, I get I blank screen. Wow! Everything I asked for. Thank you so much. It's AWESOME The shaded album cover looks really nice for the background. The trouble I was having changing settings must have been from changing the style. It's not an issue now that I understand changing the style resets everything. When I go to the applet install, I see two entries for Custom Clock. I guess this is because I have your normal repository and the one for your beta stuff? It doesn't seem to cause any problem... just thought I'd mention it. If the Wizard Erland would care to grant me one more wish, I would prefer the song info to scroll instead of cycling. I had an error in my repository xml file which made them appear on 7.3, this has now been corrected. I've just done another entirely clean install of 7.4. Extention Downloader did not install the plugins I asked it to (but it did take over the Settings/Plugins page after my first attempt). It took three attempts (and in desperation, a PC reboot) to install the Boom Line Out plugin. *All* other third party plugins took two attempts. Erland, thanks for trying to breeze some fresh air in my Controller! I run SC7.3.3, I was surprised to see the daylight clock applet available. I opted to install it, the menus are here but nothing happens on the controller. I guess you need a more recent version of the server or the firmware to run it ? I've take a quick look at the wiki, and server version is not really mentioned, except I am not aware I run the "Squeezebox Server" yet. No worries. I'll wait. That's not as standard as X11, but gdm is a good start. See what I wrote in that tread (msg #5) and this for authoritative information : http://projects.gnome.org/gdm/docs/2.24/configuration.html This needs testing. My linux machines are headless, and more debian than ubuntu. I tried what I told to the guy on a VM machine, xubuntu 8.10. Of course it has no PM at all. I just tested by touching files in /tmp. I've check the release and re tested installs on Ubuntu on 7.3.4 as well as 7.4 and I have no problem. The only common factor I see is the use of Linux versions which are not SC mainstream and so there may be a subtle issue (e.g. user id running SC). I presume all users with this problem are trying to upgrade from 2.04. After installing 2.05 - were there any error message in the log file. The only difference (besides code change) in the ZIP files used by Extension Download is that in 2.04 ZIP is that 2.05 have group "w" enabled for .PM and .html files. Perhaps you could stop SC, change the permissions of ther plugin files and restart. The other possibility is a problem (e.g. permissions / ownership with automatic "upgrading" (2.04 -> 2.05) of the Findart prefs file. The two excellent InfoBrowser plugins, BBC Weather and BBC Whats On Radio are not included in the third party developer plugins list as presented via Extention Downloader. I've installed them manually and they work well (although there is some duplication, i.e. BBC Radio Today is not required). Hi, I have SC 7.3.3 and SugarCube 1.9 gamma but I'm still facing standard shuffle problems. The SugarCube Plugin is active (ticked in plugin preferences) but disabled via Extra menu. But I still can't enable the normal shuffle mode. If I disable the plugin (and restart the server) the shuffle mode is possible again. So I'm pretty sure that SugarCube is the only reason why shuffle is blocked otherwise. But I want to use both features without disabling SugarCube by un-ticking the plugin and restarting the server. Several times I read in the forum that shuffle mode should work after diasbling SugarCube in Extra-Menu.
