[SlimDevices: Plugins] Version discrepancy between genpuid and MusicIP
Hi all, I'm a very late convert to MusicIP, and I now see why so many people here love it. I've got a large music library and so much of it is actually getting listened to now, thanks to MusicIP! I sure hope the IP that makes up the MusicDNS technology survives somehow. Anyway, I'm having some "issues" with the latest version of MusicIP on Windows 7 x64 scanning my 60,000 tracks. I have the PUIDs stored in most of my mp3s but there are about 1000 that don't currently have it stored. Beginning with no database (I deleted the .m3lib file to make sure I was starting pristine) I pointed it to my M: drive (local HDD) where all of my music resides. It went through and catalogued everything, but indicated that it needed to validate 1700 tracks, which is fine... but it never made any progress doing so. Looking in task manager the mipcore process never gets triggered, and musicip itself eventually just hangs. I have tried this several times, deleting the m3lib file in between tries, and it's always getting stuck in the same place. I have tried various settings in the MIP preferences in terms of using multiple threads (this is a quadcore machine), analysis priority and processor usage... to no avail. So I decided to give genpuid a try. I had the forethought to get a DNS key while it was still possible to get one. I blew out the m3lib again and told genpuid to recreate it in the same path, told it to archive the puids, etc. It took quite a while but it did complete successfully. I thought I was home free, but then I went to open MusicIP back up and got this message: "A library already exists from a newer version of MusicIP Mixer. If you proceed, this library will be removed. Do you want to continue, and create a new library?" So it seems the version of genpuid I have is newer than the final version of MusicIP Mixer, and the m3lib format is apparently not compatible between the two. Thing is though, I've seen discussion (I think in the wiki writeup on MusicIP) that you can use genpuid and MusicIP together. And I do need the GUI in order to create a filter that excludes my Xmas music from musicip mixes. However, since I'm having issues generating the library with the GUI I would like to try to get a version of genpuid that is compatible with it. Or, if someone knows how to make the new version of genpuid get along with musicip mixer that would be great too. Pertinent info: MusicIP running in headless mode Squeezecenter 7.3.4 MusicIP Mixer version 1.8 1b (Monday, October 08, 2007) GenPUID version 1.4 Thanks all--great forum here! -- bookemdano bookemdano's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34640 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71994 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

When you say "logged on the server PC"...do you mean working at the server as though it was a regular desktop PC, or do you mean logged in from a desktop over the network? Either way, there are ways to temporarily block SrvrPowerCtrl's on-idle countdown. One way is through the Squeezebox Server web interface: go to Extras->Server Power Control and select "Block Shutdown/Suspend/etc." This will keep SrvrPowerCtrl from taking any actions until you reboot the server or "undo" this from the menu again. Also, there are "CLI" commands that can also be used to block & unblock SrvrPowerCtrl from taking any action. You could have a batch file like this: setblock.cmd: > > @echo off > scclitool.exe srvrpowerctrl setblock Hey_Im_WORKING_here viacli -h > 127.0.0.1 -p 9090 > ..and you could put a shortcut to that batch file on your task bar. Likewise, a batchfile: clearblock.cmd > > @echo off > scclitool.exe srvrpowerctrl clearblock OK_Im_done viacli -h 127.0.0.1 > -p 9090 > ..again, pointed to via a shortcut on the task bar will start SrvrPowerCtrl's "clock" again. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Being fully integrated into Squeezebox means you can do everything from your remote, sync, etc. I simply could not live without this now that I've got used to it. You can listen to virtually all the world's music. Should you find something you paricularly like then you can always buy a higher quality version. My thoughts... 1. XM and Sirius are not fully merged yet. I am on the phone with XM customer care right now (I have two cars with XM installed) and they cannot assist with anything Sirius related. 2. Sirius online for existing Sirius subscribers is the same as XM, 2.99 a month... not sure what it is for internet only, or if they will give the discounted rate to an XM subscriber. 3. As far as why Logitech supports Sirius and not XM... my best guess is that since eventually XM will probably "go away" as a result of the merger, they do not want to invest time and development resources in a platform that has a limited shelf life. I am sure that we can argue that this is a shortsighted view and forces longtime SB/XM users to either live with less "reliable" plugins (no offense to the volunteers who do this hard work on their own time and dime) or either go with Sirius or look hard at what other options there are other than SB. The other possibility is that you had a repository URL entered for the CDplayer betas and it may have taken precedence over released versions. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins
Hi Erland, the number of songs/albums/artists that are shown in the TrackStat browse menus interface of iPeng and/or Controller seems to be limited to 20. I would like to have an option to adjust the output as already for the web and player. Is there any chance to include this in a future TrackStat version. -- tom123 tom123's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18603 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
It seems to me that the slow search that I reported for 1.2 is still a problem in 1.2.1: typing some letters slowly, and then hitting "Search" makes the search take 15-20 seconds. I still suspect that the implicit searches that are made for each keypress somehow queues up on the server. Would it be possible to add a configuration option, disabling the implicit searches? -- strindberg strindberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11265 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Scrolling all items on a page of a table looks terrible (and consumes LOTS of power) while scrolling only one would imply that you have a "cursor", which you don't on iPhone. The new Screen Saver in 1.3 will do this, though. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
When I returned from the song info screen to the now playing screen using the right side icon, the now playing screen looked like picture no. 1, i.e. no song info on top although a song was playing. Tapping around a bit showed other strange behaviour, see the other two screen shots. In the player screen, the library name was obscured by the top bar. And in now playing the progress bar was obscured. And there were icons at the bottom of the screens. Touch and hold did not work any more. I restarted iPeng and was able to reproduce this only once, but now I cannot reproduce it any longer. Just wanted to let you know in case you could get any ideas from the information. +---+ |Filename: bild 3.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8781| +---+ -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wireless), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPod Touch, muso on remote computer running Win XP | 7.4.2 on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
