Hi Robert.

I disabled the Logitech Sirius plug and am now connecting to Siruis
Canada. No error message. Your suggestion has done the trick!!!

Thanks a lot for your work on this. I will let you know if anything
else comes up.

Rick.

That error confuses me because it's not part of my code and I don't
attempt to parse errors directly from Sirius's site. See my other post
about making sure the official program is explicitly disabled.
Hopefully that's the case.

Is the error "Unable to retrieve channel info."? If so then I'm pretty
sure I know what's going on. That error is actually from the official
Sirius plugin not mine. I elected to use the same URL style syntax
(sirius://) for identifying channels that the official plugin uses.
This may have been a bad idea because conflicts can potentially occur.
Make sure that the official Sirius plugin is explicitly disabled via
Settings/Plugins and that you don't have it enabled via My Apps if
you're using 7.4 I'm hoping this is the problem because that would
explain why my plugin wasn't logging an attempt to access the stream and
why I was confused by the error message (because it's not one of mine).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Version discrepancy between genpuid and MusicIP

2009-11-29 Thread bookemdano

Hi all,

I'm a very late convert to MusicIP, and I now see why so many people
here love it. I've got a large music library and so much of it is
actually getting listened to now, thanks to MusicIP! I sure hope the IP
that makes up the MusicDNS technology survives somehow.

Anyway, I'm having some "issues" with the latest version of MusicIP on
Windows 7 x64 scanning my 60,000 tracks. I have the PUIDs stored in most
of my mp3s but there are about 1000 that don't currently have it stored.
Beginning with no database (I deleted the .m3lib file to make sure I was
starting pristine) I pointed it to my M: drive (local HDD) where all of
my music resides. It went through and catalogued everything, but
indicated that it needed to validate 1700 tracks, which is fine... but
it never made any progress doing so. Looking in task manager the mipcore
process never gets triggered, and musicip itself eventually just hangs.

I have tried this several times, deleting the m3lib file in between
tries, and it's always getting stuck in the same place. I have tried
various settings in the MIP preferences in terms of using multiple
threads (this is a quadcore machine), analysis priority and processor
usage... to no avail.

So I decided to give genpuid a try. I had the forethought to get a DNS
key while it was still possible to get one. I blew out the m3lib again
and told genpuid to recreate it in the same path, told it to archive the
puids, etc. It took quite a while but it did complete successfully. I
thought I was home free, but then I went to open MusicIP back up and got
this message:

"A library already exists from a newer version of MusicIP Mixer. If you
proceed, this library will be removed. Do you want to continue, and
create a new library?"

So it seems the version of genpuid I have is newer than the final
version of MusicIP Mixer, and the m3lib format is apparently not
compatible between the two.

Thing is though, I've seen discussion (I think in the wiki writeup on
MusicIP) that you can use genpuid and MusicIP together. And I do need
the GUI in order to create a filter that excludes my Xmas music from
musicip mixes.

However, since I'm having issues generating the library with the GUI I
would like to try to get a version of genpuid that is compatible with
it. Or, if someone knows how to make the new version of genpuid get
along with musicip mixer that would be great too.

Pertinent info:

MusicIP running in headless mode
Squeezecenter 7.3.4
MusicIP Mixer version 1.8 1b (Monday, October 08, 2007)
GenPUID version 1.4

Thanks all--great forum here!

I doubt if XM will be going away anytime soon. There are still way too
many cars on the road that use it, with more being sold everyday,
including Honda.

Also, if you're not a Sirius subscriber, they charge $12.95/mo for
their Internet service.

I'm seeing it myself, too.
My whole MySB account looks pretty garbled. I have 5 or 6 erroneous
players in there. One of them seemed to sum up all my iPeng devices and
since I deleted this one I'm having the exact same issue: I can't

for the one iPeng device Andy already removed from MySB.

OK, wait a moment, maybe we are mixing a few things here.
There seem to be some issues with MySB.com right now, lots of reports
also from non-iPeng users.
I have several erroneous players in my account and I'm pretty sure they
are not all iPeng instances.
The iPeng reconnect issue should only affect local servers right after

When you say "logged on the server PC"...do you mean working at the
server as though it was a regular desktop PC, or do you mean logged in
from a desktop over the network?

Either way, there are ways to temporarily block SrvrPowerCtrl's on-idle
countdown. One way is through the Squeezebox Server web interface: go
to Extras->Server Power Control and select "Block Shutdown/Suspend/etc."
This will keep SrvrPowerCtrl from taking any actions until you reboot
the server or "undo" this from the menu again.

Also, there are "CLI" commands that can also be used to block & unblock
SrvrPowerCtrl from taking any action.

You could have a batch file like this:

setblock.cmd:
>
> @echo off
> scclitool.exe srvrpowerctrl setblock Hey_Im_WORKING_here viacli -h
> 127.0.0.1 -p 9090
>
..and you could put a shortcut to that batch file on your task bar.
Clicking that shortcut will block SrvrPowerCtrl.

Likewise, a batchfile:

clearblock.cmd
>
> @echo off
> scclitool.exe srvrpowerctrl clearblock OK_Im_done viacli -h 127.0.0.1
> -p 9090
>
..again, pointed to via a shortcut on the task bar will start
SrvrPowerCtrl's "clock" again.

Think you might be right there.

May I suggest a Napster subscription $5 p/m in US, and £5 p/m in UK.
On the face of it 128kbps WMA doesn't sound like high quality but I
don't find it limiting. Being fully integrated into Squeezebox means
you can do everything from your remote, sync, etc. I simply could not
live without this now that I've got used to it. You can listen to
virtually all the world's music. Should you find something you
paricularly like then you can always buy a higher quality version.

Having said that, once Spotify is eventually integrated into Squeezebox
I'll probably take out a Premium sub to get the 320kbps OGG stream.

I already raised a feature request in iPeng about it, but Joerg set it

Please file a ticket for this.
It did indeed turn out that searches don't get canceled on the serevr
side if you cancel the request.
It DOES help not to include spaces in the search, btw, although that
obviously isn't always possible, but for a slow server/large library
environment it could indeed make sense to not use incremental search.

Yes, I use that for testing a lot.
You only need to open port 9000. And you will have to configure your
server manually since obviously server detection won't work over the
whole internet.
Does the WiFi connection take that long?

Just realized I was getting the problem of not being able to login from
SqueezeServer. First I thought something was wrong with my account.
Glad this support forum is here. Was going a little crazy. Too bad
that we all just got it working again and XMRadio goes and blows it for
us again.

My thoughts...
1. XM and Sirius are not fully merged yet. I am on the phone with XM
customer care right now (I have two cars with XM installed) and they
cannot assist with anything Sirius related.
2. Sirius online for existing Sirius subscribers is the same as XM,
2.99 a month... not sure what it is for internet only, or if they will
give the discounted rate to an XM subscriber.
3. As far as why Logitech supports Sirius and not XM... my best guess
is that since eventually XM will probably "go away" as a result of the
merger, they do not want to invest time and development resources in a
platform that has a limited shelf life. I am sure that we can argue that
this is a shortsighted view and forces longtime SB/XM users to either
live with less "reliable" plugins (no offense to the volunteers who do
this hard work on their own time and dime) or either go with Sirius or
look hard at what other options there are other than SB. Personally I
have cars with XM installed in stereo so it is harder for me to switch
to Sirius. If I had add-on equipment or portable players it would be
easier.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeScrobbler 1.2.6 - LastFM working again!

2009-11-29 Thread kefyn

Thanks James,

Good to hear it working again.

Only I have noticd that it no longer appears in the "Internet Radio"
section of the Duet Controller. I have looked through and cannot find it
anywhere.

On the Web interface it is in the "Internet Radio" section.

Perhaps we need to make it an App and place it in "My Apps". I am
speakingout of turn as I do not know what the issues with doing this
would be.

I am just glad to have it working again.

You should only dismiss it based on your ears, not the numbers. Isn't
that what "audiophiles " aught to do? Why not get DSBridge up and
running and listen to the free Spotify 160kbps OGG stream. Then buy a
day pass for the 320kbps stream, and see what you think.

Pippin,

Just bought 2 copies yesterday. Great app! Thanks.

Quick question, is there a way to get around waiting for the iPhone to
connect to wifi? Can the app use 3G to connect if I open the right

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2009-11-29 Thread bpa

There was a problem with version number comparison (e.g. 1.07b7 is
considered newer than 1.08) but I thought it was fixed by 7.4.1 ..

The other possibility is that you had a repository URL entered for the
CDplayer betas and it may have taken precedence over released versions.

Thanks, now just got to figure a way to stop the plugin hibernating the

logged on the server PC and in the middle of ordering the weekly

Hi Erland,
the number of songs/albums/artists that are shown in the TrackStat
browse menus interface of iPeng and/or Controller seems to be limited to
20.

I would like to have an option to adjust the output as already for the
web and player.

Is there any chance to include this in a future TrackStat version.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-11-29 Thread strindberg

It seems to me that the slow search that I reported for 1.2 is still a
problem in 1.2.1: typing some letters slowly, and then hitting "Search"
makes the search take 15-20 seconds.

I still suspect that the implicit searches that are made for each
keypress somehow queues up on the server. Would it be possible to add a
configuration option, disabling the implicit searches?

And yes, scrolling long titles is on there, yet it's no so simple.
Scrolling all items on a page of a table looks terrible (and consumes
LOTS of power) while scrolling only one would imply that you have a
"cursor", which you don't on iPhone.

The new Screen Saver in 1.3 will do this, though.

It is 1.2.1. Earlier in this very long thread you can find a screen
shot I posted with a similar issue (both icons and player controls
appearing) in 1.2.

Despite frequent daily use of iPeng, I have only seen this 3 times (two
times now and one time before when on 1.2) and I have no idea how to
reproduce it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-11-29 Thread vagskal

When I returned from the song info screen to the now playing screen
using the right side icon, the now playing screen looked like picture
no. 1, i.e. no song info on top although a song was playing. Tapping
around a bit showed other strange behaviour, see the other two screen
shots. In the player screen, the library name was obscured by the top
bar. And in now playing the progress bar was obscured. And there were
icons at the bottom of the screens. Touch and hold did not work any
more.

I restarted iPeng and was able to reproduce this only once, but now I
cannot reproduce it any longer. Just wanted to let you know in case you
could get any ideas from the information.
