I got the plugin (mostly) working on Squeezebox Server 7.4.1 on my Windows 7 Professional PC I only have SoftSqueeze (on the same PC) for now I have a Sirius US low-bandwidth account, however I'm located in Canada It seems to work best when I use the 'Web Remote Control' to select channels. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: (not so) Sirius Plugin
Robert I have now tried the plugin on 3 different machines and still can't get the plugin to work with SBS 7.4.1! Over the weekend I had some spare time so I did some testing on an older Dell laptop (running XP SP3), and this is what I found: SC 7.3.3Works SC 7.3.4Works SBS 7.4.0...Does not work SBS 7.4.1...Does not work SBS 7.4.2...Does not work SBS 7.5.Does not work I did not try it on the Mac (in case things got screwed up). One thing I noticed was the SC versions are running Perl 5.8.8, whereas the newer SBS versions are running Perl 5.10.0. Is Perl embedded in the server software? If so could it be a conflict with the installed version of Perl (5.10.0) on Mac OS 10.6.2? (i.e. both trying to run at the same time). Don't know if I am out to lunch on this one. So I think I know what you mean. The title of the applet is taken from the repo title field. This should fallback to EN if you have only defined this. This approach is fine as long as the applet remains in the repos. However if it is removed from the repos, but is installed locally then applet installer adds a menu item to allow the applet to be removed, but it only shows the name of the applet, not its localised title. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Weather Screensafer for Radio/Touch/Controller
I'm happy to announce end of Beta of my Weather-Screensafer: FEATURES - will show current weather (Temperature + Humidity) as a big icon. Also current date and time is available and configurable. - will show forecast for next 3 days as three small icons. Icons toggle if the datafeed isn't clear about the weather (so you might see some clouds - or even clouds with a bit of sun - toggling with a rain icon. This gives you a general idea of the day, while knowing that there might be rain as well) - weather-data taken from www.wunderground.com - written portable to support 7.3 + 7.4 + 7.5 firmware-version (7.5 as of 10.01.2010 - could brake as this version still changes) - works for Controller/Touch/Radio (tested with Controller + Radio and squeezeplay) INSTALL In SqueezeBox-Server you first have to register my repository-URL: http://www.stagessound.de/bluegaspode.xml Then you are able to install the applet by going to "Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer" on the Touch/Radio/Controller. More detailed step-by-step instructions for installing applets can be found in the wiki http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezePlay_Applets#Applet_Installer CONFIGURE - Go to 'Settings->Screen->Screensaver' - Here you will have to configure the location to show weather-data from ('Screensavers->Weather settings'). This location will be passed to www.wunderground.com, so you might want to test there, whether your location will be recognized. The default is 'Berlin, Germany' so you always know how my mood is ... Futhermore here you can switch between °C and °F and select what additional information (time/date/observation time) you want to see. - Also in the screensafers-menu you will have to configure the weather-screensafer (most probably under 'when stopped'). Working now on 7.5. I decided to go out of Beta as well as I didn't change much (nor plan to currently as its working fine). OK, I understand. Thank you for all your help! The code is from a working menu (the Trackyear menu). I just added the OR statements. And thank you for the hint regarding parenthesis. After a couple of tries I found out that those should be inserted like this: where (X and Y) or (Z and P) After that the menu actually worked, sort of. No error messages, but it took almost 10 minutes, during which the playback was stopped, to get the initial menu with the year values. But then the subsequent menues (the album list for a year and the song list for an album) were as fast as can be expected and the values seem to be correct, i.e. a mix of the trackyear and albumyear values. I attach the code for the menu hoping that someone else might be able to help me to "optimize" the code to get it to work faster. +---+ |Filename: ALLYEARS.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9028| +---+ -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wireless), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPod Touch, muso on remote computer running Win XP | 7.4.2 on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It's probably a good idea that you post the complete xml (as an attachement) if you want someone to help you. If you use the web interface I think you will get a bit more detailed error message, it should also be available in the server.log file. Another thing to think about is that you may need to use parentheses when mixing "and" and "or" statements in a SQL. If you enable debug level logging on "plugin.custombrowse" you will also get more details regarding exactly which SQL statements are executed and if they succeeds or return an error. It's important that the result columns contains the correction information, if they don't it might explain why it works in a SQL tool but not in the real system. Also I'm not sure if the pathtypedata element is correct, it might be, I'm just not sure how the keywords ({context.itemid}) should look like. This gives you one menu for years originally > released/performed and another menu for years when an album was > released. I further tried to merge the two menues (Trackyear and Albumyear) into one ("All years"). I used a Custom Tag Albums menu and in the Tag name field in the form I wrote ALBUMYEAR since I did not think two tags were allowed. I replaced the resulting xml code with the following: Code: All Years 50 customtag Albums sql select distinct customscan_track_attributes.value,customscan_track_attributes.value from customscan_track_attributes where module='customtag' and attr='TRACKYEAR' and value='{context.itemid}' or module='customtag' and attr='ALBUMYEAR' and value='{context.itemid}' customtagTRACKYEAR sql alpha select customscan_track_attributes.value,customscan_track_attributes.value, substr(ifnull(customscan_track_attributes.valuesort,customscan_track_attributes.value),1,1) from customscan_track_attributes where customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='TRACKYEAR' or customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='ALBUMYEAR' group by customscan_track_attributes.value order by ifnull(customscan_track_attributes.valuesort,customscan_track_attributes.value) asc etc. where I supplemented every occurrence of 'TRACKYEAR' with a corresponding OR statement containing instead 'ALBUMYEAR'. Unfortunately it did not work. Invoking the menu just choked SBS and eventually I received a connection error in iPeng. I have read the wiki and the tutorials but I have no clue what else I have to do to get the result I want. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing
1. The plugin just downloads the jar into your server system. The Jar is run on the PC which is running the browser. The Jar file is not installed anywhere but it is cached by Sun Java so that if you use the same menu item, Softsqueeze will start quicker using the cached version on the system which is running the browser. Softsqueeze never had an .exe version. Java have Jar files. Are you thinking of squeezeslave or Squeezeplay ? 2. Softsqueeze behaves like an SB1 which cannot be validated as a player so to deal with special stream such as Pandora etc. you need to need to enable proxied streaming in Settings/Player/Audio/. Synchronised playing effectively does "proxied streaming" so you may have found a limitation of SBS support of Softsqueeze but it is worth trying the setting. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62060 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
