would need a SBS plugin that could display the contents of the xml file

to SqueezeIR wouldn't be too great but the plugin would need writing
from scratch. I have no experience of perl (plugins are written in
perl, applets are in lua) so I wouldn't know where to start
 unfortunately.

I might have a look at Greg's code which might allow SqueezeIR to be
controlled via a web-page outside of SBS. The web-page could
(hopefully) be created from the xml file using some script (possibly
 java)??

Roger that! Thank you for considering how it might play out with
SqueezeIR. It's perfectly understandable that this would not be an easy
thing to achieve - but I'll keep my eyes open if I come across (as pearl

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeslave in Ubuntu Lucid Sound issue

2010-06-13 Thread pmbsa

Hi Ralphy, I am not sure if there is anything that can be done here but
I have some more information on this, not sure its useful information
but more information none the less.

I have managed to configure things so that pulseaudio appears to
working as it should. I am now, as an example, able to start up vlc,
xbmc and rhythmbox at the same time and play audio through them,
pulseaudio seems to just blend everything as you would expect...
however, if I then run squeezeslave, even if its only with -L the
system stops putting out audio completely and the only way to rectify
it is to reboot. if I look at the pulsevolumecontrol app I can see
audio streams being sent to the pulse server but nothing comes out of
the speakers.

The issue seems specific to squeezelave, is there anywhere in the sys
logs that would be worth checking to maybe find out what its doing to
pulse to cause the problem? (I have a newly compiled binary by the
way). running within padsp seems to have no impact either, the result
is the same.

Thanks alot for all the work you do on this app by the way, I have been
using it on windows for years now, its fantastic (linux will be the
death if me I think!)

thanks
Paul

Please, I would appreciate any assistance, this is the final little
piece of my mediacentre solution and I cant seem to make any progress.
I have gone so far as to remove pulse all together but that just ended
in tears.
I refuse to believe there isnt a solution to this, I was reasonably
sure this would be a common type of setup using squeezeslave?

That's a far more normal log with all the expected RTSP activity.

It looks like the shell script realmplayer.sh cannot find mplayer.
This issue happens a lot with OSX and solution can depend on OSX
version and processor.

The version you are using should be looking for mplayer in

i386 processor
/Applications/MPlayer
OSX.app/Contents/Resources/External_Binaries/mplayer.app/Contents/MacOS/mplayer

PowerPC
/Applications/MPlayer
OSX.app/Contents/Resources/External_Binaries/mplayer_noaltivec.app/Contents/MacOS/mplayer

If not found above then it looks for
/usr/local/bin/mplayer

Where is mplayer on your system ?

I'm afraid that's not possible (nor do I plan to provide such a
possibility due to time constraints).
You could have a look at erlands 'CustomClock'-Applet. This one
provides integration for the 'SuperDateTime'-plugin (which I think
provides wind information). You can then create your own screen with
the information you like.

works fine. The learning feature may work on the boom/radio/touch as
that part of the plugin only needs a receiver, not an emitter. I don't
have any of those so I can't say for certain though.

The .conf IR files generated from IRBlaster don't appear to be in the

there a way to use the IRBlaster created files for SqueezeIR?

LIRC files come in two flavours, one has a 'codes' section, the other
has a 'raw_codes' section. SqueezeIR can use either, they are
referenced in the same way; filename remote name in
remoteparameters and command name in actioncommand. You could
try using the learned lirc file with SqueezeIR but you may need to
amend your xml file if the commands have different names.

I still get no IR action with the AVR on any of the selections. The
Vol up/down keys no longer have the popup showing the SB volume
setting, so it appears that override is functional.
I've finally worked this out but you won't like the answer!
I originally tested your files using some debugging on Desktop
SqueezePlay which interpreted the lirc file correctly. However, when I
ran the same debugs on the Controller it gave different (wrong)
results. In short the Controller isn't doing what SqueezeIR is telling
it to, which points to a bug in the Controller firmware rather than in
SqueezeIR.

SqueezeIR converts the lirc file into something the Controller can
understand by performing 'bitwise AND' operations on the command values
in the lirc file against successive powers of 2. As the commands in the
lirc file have 32 bits SqueezeIR must perform a bitwise AND of the
command with 2^31. The Controller can calculate 2^31 properly (the
answer is 2147483648) but it gives the wrong answer when performing the
AND. Desktop SqueezePlay gives the right answer.

Obviously, the best thing would be for Logitech to fix the bug (they
may already have in the upcoming v7.6). Failing that, I may be able to
modify SqueezeIR to work around the Controller's bug but it could take a
little time.
In the meantime, if you don't need the 'source_6/8ch' command then I
can easily modify the LIRC file so that it will work with SqueezeIR.

I do not need the source 6/8 command. The commands I have learned to
IRBlaster (the file I last attached) are all working from the SBC. Are
you saying that the process of learning the commands from the remote to
IRBlaster may also not work from the SBC for some commands (like 6/8)?
Or is it just the other (downloaded) format lirc files that won't work?

Wow, mine is just located in /applications/MPlayer. What's with all the
other folders? I have an Intel Mac and that's where it was installed. It
works just fine using on its own from that location. There is a folder
titled mplayer and it is located at:

Inside that folder, there is a folder entitled files and a file
called portfile.

Hmmm, looking further, I can see that I actually have something called
MPlayer OS X Extended. That seemed to be the most current version of
MPlayer for OS X, is that what is screwing me up? That is what was
indicated on the MPlayer homepage... Thanks!
