Could you try to install the Database Query plugin and then goto
Extras/Database Query and select the Create new data query link at

 following SQL statement:

Code:

select count(*),url from track_statistics group by url having count(*)1
limit 10

Then save the query and click on it and see if it displays an empty
result or if it returns 10 rows.

Below is the result. I guess it is empty.

Code:

Free form query (Edit Execute) ( CSV , Structured XML , XML )
  Test1

  count(*) url
  (Database Query 2.2)

erland;565313 Wrote:
If none of the above queries returns anything, it means that the problem
probably is in the Custom Scan data. You can then try to run this query
but I suspect it's going to be too slow in your library because it
takes several seconds to execute in my 3000 track library.

Code:

   select count(*),module,attr,value,url from customscan_track_attributes
group by module,attr,value,url having count(*)1 limit 10;

If there aren't any duplicates in the Custom Scan data, this query
 should return an empty result.

Below is the result. I guess it is empty too.

Code:

Test3 (Edit Execute) ( CSV , Structured XML , XML )

  count(*) module attrvalue url
  (Database Query 2.2)

That query was slow and stopped playback for a while.

I checked the logs again. Is seems that the Query returned more than
one row errors was there when I played music last evening. The 4 AM
nightly scan shows some similar errors in the scanner.log. But
strangely enough playing music this morning does not seem to provoke
any of those error messages. I executed the queries this morning while
playing music. Log files attached.

Sorry for the delay in responding but I had to do some work and
entertaining. Thanks for all your help.

Sorry still don't understand this - the plugin does not save anything
to spotify playlists so don't see how one playlist can be different.
Can you describe what actions you are taking to do see this?

2010-07-31 Thread JimmyHoffa81

Hi

When i try to open anything in the spotify menu i get this error:
(Connect timed out: Transport endpoint is not connected)

At the bottom of the plugin-page i get helper app: not running

When i click the log file my browser opens a page that contains nothing
at all (yes I have set it to debug mode).

I am running Debian Linux 4.0, Linux 2.6.26-bpo.1-686 on i686

I have tried to turn of all firewalls, (router and linux machine).

I have tried port 9001, 9002, 9005, 9010 an 9011 for the helper app.

Can someone please help me out. I need this awsome plugin to work.

Suggest you try to run the helper app manually from a shell - find
where spotifyd is, change to that directory and try ./spotifyd - what
does it say?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-07-31 Thread mykee

The beta11 resolved the issues I had with certain playlists that did not
load with the error message 'Connect timed out'

This plugin truly adds a lot of extra value to my setup :-)

I suppose it is not supposed to work when listening through the duet
controller? I have not managed to play anything from spotify through
the controller. Gives a error message 'player is not supported'...
something...

Also noticed that some playlists sometimes stops, even though the
playlist hasn't reached the end. Will test that further to see any
patters and to see if I get any info in the logs. Maybe it could be
related to playlists with songs that are not available anymore.

Many many thanks for a great plugin!

I'm not at my linux box at the moment but I'd think its part of a flac
package? Try

apt-cache search

flac to get a list of packages containing 'flac'

Ah - sounds like Debian 4.0 is quite old. libspotify may not support
this - you probably need to build and install flac yourself as its
linked against flac8 not flac7.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-07-31 Thread amanlikemike

Hi Triode,

I'm using a MacBook running OS X 10.5.8, with a SB3 and Squeezeserver
7.5.1. I've installed your plugin, but unfortunately it aint quite
working for me. Each time I select Spotify on my SB3 I get the same
message: 'connection timed out: invalid argument'.

The helper app initially runs in Squeezeserver settings, but if i
navigate away from that page and come back to it, the app is no longer
running. To get it running again, I have to change the port number. But
then it just stops again. I'd post up the debug log, but - for some
reason - it just throws up a blank page when I click 'log'.

I'm not at all techy, so forgive me if this is no use, but it's all the
info I can get without instruction...

I click on spotifyd and Terminal gives me this:

Last login: Thu Mar 26 19:29:40 on console

I click on libspotify and Terminal shows me this:

Last login: Thu Mar 26 19:29:40 on console

; exit;
-bash:
/Users/Michael/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/darwin-thread-multi-2level/libspotify:

[Process completed]

I click on libFLAC.dylib and Terminal says:

Last login: Thu Mar 26 19:29:40 on console
/Users/Michael/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/darwin-thread-multi-2level/libFLAC.dylib

-bash:

[Process completed]

And when I click on spotifyd.conf Console shows me this:

password: XXX
cachedir: /Users/Michael/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/spotifycache

Any ideas, mate?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LCD Smartie plugin displays Squeezebox info

2010-07-31 Thread jemmicat

I updated this plugin to be able to display the info from
Squeezeplay-based devices as it originally used the displaystatus ? ?
command and this fails miserably when trying to show the data. I used
the status - 2 tags command instead to show the currently playing
song

There are 2 included plugins... both are intended for 4 line LCD
displays as this is the application I am using it for. You can get it
down to one line if needed. In the future I might make it so basically
all items are available to select that are returned with the tags
line.

the ssplugin.dll shows:
Player name
title
artist
album

The ssplugin2.dll is for internet radio... shows the channel and
streaming title and volume. The idea was to switch LCDsmartie based on
which stream is playing... but I don't have that figured out.

I personally am using this as a secondary display for vintage radio

No setting. Unless you CHANGE any setting (play single track, to be
precise) it's the same as playing an album on iPhone or iPod or iTunes
or Windows Media Player or a CD player or the controller or the SB
touch or...
Just tap the first track.

Actually the album was playing when the plugin was updated. I tried
clearing this by restarting the *Squeezebox Server* software, but this
didn't work. After restarting my entire server, the 'Title by Artist'
is now removed from the previous mentioned album.

Thanks for your help in this matter.

Another thing, you referred to 'Playlists saved by Squeezebox server'.
Well I can save a playlist using the 'Squeezebox server' and that
works. But after a rescan they don't work anymore. For me it's no
problem just using spotify playlists, but I was triggered by your
question, because it suggests that playlists made within the
'Squeezebox server' environment should work is well.

So my question in this case: Should 'Playlist made by Squeezebox
server' work as well and should they keep working after a rescan?

After experimenting a bit I found out that the error messages appear
when browsing with iPeng into some albums. If I browse to the same
albums using the web UI then there are no error messages. It seems to
happen every time I browse with iPeng into a VA album or a single
artist album (album artist set) with guest artist(s). At least in the
case of a single artist album with guest artist(s) I seem to get the
same number of error messages as there are tracks with guest artists.
If I open a VA album with 100 tracks by different artists then there
are less error messages than tracks or distinct artists.

This does not sound like an issue concerning your plugins, does it?

Sorry I think it might be my bad, I've been using a squeezeplay model
for a touchscreen device in the UK called the O2 Joggler. It has the
same resolution as the touch, I think I must have manually installed it
when i first set it up without realising and gone thru SSH.

So Erland, just so I understand, SBS will not show plugins unless a
compatible device is found?

If so can you add ScreenSwitcher so it's recognised as compatible for

plympton;565165 Wrote:
 Greg,

Any way you can post your parsing methodology? Since this seems to
happen fairly frequently, it might be better to teach us how to fish,
 so to speak. :-)

Hey Dan-

Basically each data provider in the plugin has a 'get' and a 'got'
subroutine. The 'get' makes a asynchronous HTTP request and the 'got'
is run when the HTML response comes back. It then parses the HTML. I
used to just use regular expressions to parse the response HTML line by
line, but that was pretty tedious and not very efficient. For most
parsing I now use a HTML tree builder library that parses the HTML as a
tree that I then walk to find the data elements I need. You can look at
the 'gotWeather' routine for an example.

Another thought - I wonder if it's possible to abstract the parsing a
bit so it's read from a config file? Something along the lines of
skipping X characters for Y field, or skipping to XX string for Y
field? This way we could just figure out the new format and post the
config file changes.

I'd be willing to help out getting it prototyped, but I don't want to
go through the Perl brute-force figuring out what you're doing. You
know my love of Perl. :-)

This has been discussed a few times in the past and I appreciate the
offer to help. Unfortunately given the complexity of their HTML and
flexible nature of HTML I don't think there'd be an easy way to abstract
the parsing logic.

I've gone ahead and posted 5.9.3 to www.gregbrown.net. I apologize for
the delay, I'm extremely busy at work right now. Although I enjoy
supporting the plugin it doesn't help pay the bills.

What's new:
-Fixed weather.com parsing. Special thanks to Erland and BoomX2.
-Should handle HTML ISO 8859-1 characters better.

Please let me know if you have any parsing issues. I tested some US
and international locations but it's hard to catch everything. If you
see a '-' in the upper right hand corner of your display there was
likely a parsing error that is should be outlines in the log file as a
warning.

I want to thank everyone that has supported the plugin development by
donating or making amazon.com purchases through my referral link. For
those that haven't...
Please support the plugin by starting all your Amazon.com shopping via
clicking through the Amazon.com links on www.gregbrown.net or by making
a PayPal donation.

---

I have a SuperDateTime repository available to make
downloading/updating easy. This repo is usually updated faster than the
main repo provided by Slim Devices.

To use please navigate to:
Server Settings - Plugins
and add the following repository to the 'Additional Repositories'
section:
http://gregbrown.net/squeeze/repo.xml
This will add a 'SuperDateTime Repository' to the screen that will
include an option to install the latest SuperDateTime version.

Thanks

Screen Switcher is NOT a plugin, it's an applet that only can be

Settings/Plugins since it isn't a plugin. To install an applet you goto
Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer in the SqueezePlay user interface.
Screen Switcher should be shown if you are using SqueezePlay 7.4 or
