I think this is covered by the update, but mine now always reverts to a
different player when it is woken. So I am happily putting music on
the main system, and close it to use Tapatalk, when I reopen it I
inadvertently put music on the Bedroom (first in alphabet?) system and
wake up the wife. Bad!

Absolutely indifferent about the logos, really great app, so much
better than the Controller it's just silly!

After that I restarted the iPod and installed the very latest SBS 7.5.2

It might have been just a freak thing that went away when restarting.

Oh right. Yes it's not a private address, but an official ip address in

For me, the latest version crashes every time I open it. The second time
I open it it's fine. This then repeats the next time I open it.

For the record I don't mind the style of the new icons but I do wish it
was easier to see whether a player is on or off at a glance.

All minor problems in a great app, keep up the good work.

+1 I'm really indifferent about the icons themselves so long as I can

I'm all for the new icons as well... They make for a much cleaner
interface in my book. I believe the contast in on and off states will
already be addressed in the 1.2.5.1 release that's already in Apple's
hands by now - maybe run the poll again once it has been released? ;-)

It's hard to please everyone I guess, but as long as functionality is
not compromised I fail to see why personal preferences (mine included)
should matter. But then again - maybe that's just me...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2010-08-08 Thread bpa

It looks like it should have worked so it is time to get some debug log
info. Checking for compatible CD drives only occurs at SBS startup so
the procedure has a few steps as follows:

1. In WebUI Settings/advanced/logging check the box Save logging
settings for use at next application restart
2. Enable startup CDplayer logging by setting plugin.cdplayer to DEBUG
in WebUI Settings/advanced/logging and click Apply
3. Note the location of the prefs directory from WebUI
Settings/Information
4. Stop SBS
5. Delete cdplayer.prefs from the plugin directory which is in the
prefs directory.
6. Start SBS
7. Copy cdplayer log entries from server.log into a text file and
attach file (zipped if necessary) onto a post.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-08-08 Thread RBM

Just reporting: when browsing recent artists (through iPeng), every now
and then albums that have been played previously, come up empty (album
shows, but no tracklist is loaded). Going back to the album overview,
the album title now is listed as 'Spotify Error : General permanent
error'.

I have seen this in the web interface as well, but this time the same
album and tracks listed normally and can be played without a problem
(from the web interface).

Also - when accidentally performing an empty search, successive
searches are still performed as if they are blank as well (even though
the correct search term shows). I have to browse several levels (for
example in previous artists) before new searches are carried out
correctly again,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2010-08-08 Thread SlimChances

Momentarily the players were identified under WebUI Settings/CDPlayer
but then it reverted back to Unassigned no other players listed.
I tried to attach a zipped version of the log but I can only reduce it
to about 1 MB which is too large for the forum. The file is about 14 MB
uncompressed.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2010-08-08 Thread bpa

A text file will only be a few kilobytes at most - there will be only be
about 50-100 lines of log file which relates to the startup and CDplayer
log entries - I don't know what you are copying - use plain text through
copy paste - not a screen grab or a word processor file.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-08-08 Thread Triode

RBM;567667 Wrote:

Search bug will be fixed in release 1.0.1

The General Permanent error is a error message from the spotify library
- there is no way to get round this other than restart the helper app.
The plugin should do this so if you browse back to that menu then it
should work - is this the case?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM plugin--where how?

I somehow managed to get the find the XM plugin option and select it
(although that item has now disappeared in the list). I've restarted my
Squeezebox device, and now have XM radio in the list. When I try to play
the radio, I get a message that my email and password are not set.

Luckily, I do already have an XM Online account.

Any idea on how/where to enter my email and password? Preferences
didn't help. I didn't find anything in server settings.

 Any ideas?

 Thanks!

In your SqueezeboxServer (SbS) web interface, click on SETTINGS (lower
right). On Settings page, select plugin tab. Then find Xmradio plugin
in the list. To the right you should see settings. Click on this,
enter your Xmradio credentials and save/apply. You may need to stop and
restart SbS at that point.

Ideally you try to use the plugin and then look at the timestamps in
the log to find the errors which occur at the time you try to use the
plugin.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2010-08-08 Thread bpa

There should be more CDplayer log entries something like

Code:

  [10-08-08 20:52:09.1512] Plugins::CDplayer::Settings::setDefaults (128)
Missing pref value: Setting default value for pausestop: 1
  [10-08-08 20:52:09.1514] Plugins::CDplayer::Settings::setDefaults (128)
Missing pref value: Setting default value for usemusicbrainz: 0
  [10-08-08 20:52:09.1516] Plugins::CDplayer::Settings::setDefaults (128)
Missing pref value: Setting default value for cddbinexact: 1
  [10-08-08 20:52:09.1519] Plugins::CDplayer::Settings::setDefaults (128)
Missing pref value: Setting default value for secretkey:
  [10-08-08 20:52:09.1521] Plugins::CDplayer::Settings::setDefaults (128)
Missing pref value: Setting default value for accesskeyid:

Deleting the cdplayer.prefs file and then restart SBS are essential
steps.

Note the time when you stop SBS. Then after you restart SBS note the
time again and then copy all log message between the time you stopped
SBS and about 2 minutes after SBS has started or end of log of file.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2010-08-08 Thread bpa

The log you posted earlier which showed the 2 CD/DVD drives is quite
different to the log you have just posted. The CD/DVD drives are not
seen by CDDA2WAV and there are extra disk controllers.

If CDDA2WAV cannot see the DVD drives at startup, then it will not
offer them in settings.

Are the DVD drives external ? are they powered off ? are they connected
?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin

2010-08-08 Thread SlimChances

The DVD drives are internal and I have had no trouble using them with
playback on the computer. I noticed when I went into WebUI settings
today that both CD drives were recognized in CDPlayer settings. I then
put a CD in the player and it would not play on the squeezebox and the
WEB UI showed players as unassigned

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IPeng: Do you prefer the old or new player icons?

A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the
results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81028

Question: Which player icons in iPeng do you prefer?

- Old
- New

garym;567629 Wrote:
I voted for OLD, but mostly because I could tell much easier if the
player was ON or OFF. Other than this issue, I'm neutral about old vs
new.I also voted for old for the same reason. I have six players and use
iPeng for multi-zone control. With the new icons, I have to look very
close to tell if a player is on or off.

On a related note, I'd love an ALL OFF button.
