Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Amp RS232 plugin

2011-01-24 Thread Stefan Bellon
Hi!

On Sun, 23 Jan, peterw wrote:

If you don't use MySqueezebox.com, then the events are pretty easy to

MySqueezebox.com is certainly not my mail goal, but local Squeezebox
Servers. However if possible, I do not want to restrict usage of
MySqueezebox.com. But if I understand correctly what you say, it gets
complicated with MySB.com.

You might even simply be able to use my DenonSerial plugin in
subscribe mode and have your applet subscribe to the messages
DenonSerial sends. E.G. when the amp needs to come on, DenonSerial
will send a message indicating that PWON needs to be sent; when the
amp should go off, DenonSerial indicates PWSTANDBY.

Oh, that's interesting information. I already looked briefly at the
DenonAVPControl plugin, but haven't looked at yours yet. Thanks for the
hint.

Would you mind sharing your code? I had always intended/hoped to write
an applet companion for DenonSerial that would leverage DenonSerial's
subscribe model to allow a cheap Prolific or FTDI serial adapter to
connect a Touch to an amp, but never got around to it...

I have no problem with sharing my code once it is in reasonable shape.

I just started yesterday evening with experimenting. I plugged in a
USB-serial cable between the Touch and the NAD's RS232 port. I logged
into the Touch, configured the /dev/ttyUSB0 device with stty to use the
protocol the NAD expects and then sent the documented commands with
success.

Now I need to build the plugin/applet around it. I'm away on a business
trip for the next two days, but will look at your suggestion when I
come back. Thanks again.

Greetings,
Stefan

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Napster working?

2011-01-24 Thread sle118

I am still frustrated by a 30 seconds limit on Napster, for which I
opted for an unlimited streaming plan.

I have a friend which chose the Sonos solution instead of the
Squeezebox and he can stream the full duration of all songs. What's up
with the Logitech products?

Anyone from Logitech reading this? Please comment what's going on with
Napster.

Michael,

As a matter of fact, I am actually located in Canada. I am glad to
hear such good news. The Napster team, including their support
specialists, has been very poor at communicating anything about the
issue.

I wish there was support for other streaming services in Squeezebox.

Thanks for the quick response.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP mixes with TimeLife tracks

2011-01-24 Thread dbinder101

I've been using MIP with my Touch for a few months and all is working
very well. However, something peculiar keeps happening for certain
seeded tracks.

I have roughly 700 tracks from the Time Life series, for every year,
from 1960 - 1990. They are all tagged with the Genre Rock. I also
have over 6000 other tracks spanning many genres.

Whenever I select a track from any of the Time Life series albums to
create a MIP mix it selects mostly tracks tracks from that year,
whether the seed track is mellow or hard rock. Is there a setting in
MIP that is causing this behavior?

Thanks.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2011-01-24 Thread JerryS

Sorry if this has been asked before, it seems so obvious I can't believe
it hasn't but can't find it by searching. Both SqueezePad and Duet
Conroller show under the album art on the now playing screen all
artists (e.g., Oistrakh, Staatskapelle Dresden, Konwitschny) whereas
Ipeng only shows the first artist (Oistrakh). Is this a bug, a feature
or an oversight?

Regards

Jerry

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2011-01-24 Thread Bryan Jan

Hi Pippin,

Everyday I call up iPeng and it will wake up the server by using the
Server Power Control plugin, same to shut down the server when I
finished the day.

Recent, my iPeng for Ipad (Version 1.0.3) starts to act up, when I
start the iPeng the server didn't wake up. Then from the top blue bar
I click the Multiplayer and a dropdown show my server, and when I
pressed the icon it will show the server setting, from where I found
that everything is fine except that the MAC address of my server is
blanked.

I have to manually boot up the server then re-start the iPeng, then the
MAC address appeared again. I remember this MAC address is stored by
iPeng.

Not sure what went wrong.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] trouble installing superdatetime - it is not a choice on screensaver page

2011-01-24 Thread incircuitous

Help this poor noob install his first plugin.

I have installed superdatetime, and configured it on the squeezebox
server, meaning that I entered my zip code which appeared to be the
only necessary config.

But on the Radio when I go to settings; screen; screensavers; when off;
I have analog clock, digital clock (black), etc. but nothing about
s.d.t.

I spent 45 minutes searching the forums about this, so my apologies if
I missed something.

Note, I just want the weather forecast to show up on my radio, so
whatever the most expeditious manner we can make that happen is okay
with me.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

Hi,

I have tried v7.5.3, on opneSUSE 11.3, and it seems that there are
dropouts in the sound, but only in the end of tracks. I have seen that
it happens around 30 seconds left to the end of tracks.

I haven't tested with local music yet.

Anyone seen this?

Using plugin v1.2.0.
