I can still only see and play mp3s (even when using folders to search, only mp3s show up in directories with both mp3s and flacs). I also cannot see wavs. Just a thought. Do the SB server settings for file types change anything? Do I need to pick some other options there, or does Whitebear get the flac and use lame to convert? I also noticed an oddity when looking at folders (I forgot to mention this before). The files shown in a named folder are always those of the previous folder. Eg for folders 1, 2 and 3, select 3 and get the files in 2, select 2 get 1, select 1 and get nothing. This doesn't happen with other media servers (and I just double-checked since it seems so odd). I hit apply and restarted the server many times (20? 25?). Each time I waited for the server to restart before hitting OK. Finally Custom Browse appeared as a checkbox within the Active plugins section. Before that, it was totally absent from the lists. Eventually Custom Scan appeared too. Leonard1052;615752 Wrote: I use Synology DS210J (ARM processor) with DS 3.0 and installed SB 7.5.3 as a package with DS 3.0 and Logitec Duet. Spotify just didn't work despite the new plugin by Triode. It kept saying timed out and so on so I followed the advise of Triode to install SSODS 4.9.1. which was a drama but I managed. After that I installed the PERL version of SB 7.5.2 and voila Spotify just works fine. I can recommend installing SSODS and not the .spk file from Synology because it isn't stable enough. I would like to thank everybody of the forum in general and Triode in particular. Many thanks! Congrats! Does your SB Duet work ok on DS210J? The forum just crashed on me - trying again. My files are in folders nested several layers deep. What I should have said was The SUB-FOLDERS shown in a named folder are always those of the previous folder. Eg for folders 1, 2 and 3, select 3 and get the SUB-FOLDERS in 2, select 2 get 1, select 1 and get nothing. I have noticed that this peculiarity only applies to the top level folder. Once I have got into sub-folders, opening them shows the correct sub-sub-folders. Many apologies. My previous post on this was obviously very confusing. I have also double-checked again that if I open genres or artists, and go down to where the files should be, only mp3s appear, no flacs or wavs. I hope that's clear - and I'm sorry for the doubts I have sown in your mind about my sanity and/or accuracy. -- PasTim PasTim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82399 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
Gordon I have been using ReallyPrevntStandby on my MacMini for a few weeks now and it seems to work very well, with no issues. I previously used Server Power Ctrl to call on Jiggler but it was a bit clunky. My only niggle now is Wake On Lan. I had intermittent success using wake on wireless lan for the MacMini when it was connected to my router wirelessly. I have now plugged the MacMini into an old Linksys wireless router that I have flashed with DD-WRT and am using as a wireless repeater bridge to extend the range of my main wireless router. This makes the WOLan feature of the squeezebox problematic, because, I think, the MacMini is seen by network as having the MAC address of the Linksys repeater bridge it is plugged into, and its true MAC address is not visible across the network. Hence, I presume, the SB sends WOLan packets with the wrong MAC address attached. There is a workaround that does OK for me. I use a free Iphone App, NetAwake to manually wake the MacMini, having previously saved its correct MAC address, but it means that my SB can't for example wake the server for an alarm call first thing in the morning. Anyway, thanks for the plugins, they work very well And if anyone out there has any suggestions for getting SB WOLan to work across a wireless repeater bridge, please let me know. -- shawje shawje's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37017 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I think we should start some form of wiki on platforms which the plugin has sucessfully been installed on and what steps people have taken. I don't have any NASs at all, so the best way to easy other people's installation issues will be if we can share what works and how. Does anyone want to take this on? Triode, I don't mind taking the initiative but I am not an expert in these things so I may end up in asking silly questions, for instance how to set up a wikipage. Installing SSODS was a nightmare for me but indeed I persevered and now it works. Maybe we should involve the NAS manufacurers more (Synology in my case) because I feel they should provide reliable plug-and-play packages which can be installed through Disk Manager software. -- Leonard1052 Leonard1052's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38110 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But what kind of a SqueezeBox are you using? As far as I know, the older, IP3K based SBs essentially just remember a single MAC address for WOL. If you're using one of these older SqueezeBoxes, you could try performing a factory reset and then setting it up again connected via wire to one of the ports on the wireless bridge. I'm thinking that that way the real mac address of the mac mini will get saved to the whom-to-WOL slot in player. And hopefully that slot will survive changing the network setting back to wireless (which you'll have to do without doing a factory reset, of course.) Worth a shot, anyway. The other alternative is iPeng. You can hard-code the mac-mini's MAC in iPeng and it should be able to WOL it. I mean, if NetWake can do it, iPeng should be able to do it too. Even putting the WOL feature aside, iPeng is well worth the $10, IMHO. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
