I just checked the weather.com page for Edmonton, and there is no
severe-snow-highlight on the source page, so I'm not sure the above fix
will work for you (I'm assuming you are in Edmonton as your location

Whilst this is not a long term solution, (a two hour HACK would be a better description), and I have zero interest in supporting it, I spent a couple of hours this afternoon hacking together a solution to play the Spotify streams without volume normalization. Using jspotify (based on despotify, which is a third-party, unauthorized non-official libspotify API implementation that was reverse engineered), I have implemented a Java server which only implements the streaming of tracks. So Triode's spotifyd is still used for metadata, etc. etc. The Java SpotifyHelper server listens on a user allocated port (eg. 9002) for track streaming requests and services them, converting the ogg stream to PCM without volume normalization. A couple of quick hacks are required to Triode's perl code to change the httpport that the client connects to for remote streaming and disable prefetching. Also, the code is currently only capable of streaming PCM so you need to disable sflc from the UI. Whilst I'm happy to share, as I've said my interest in supporting this is zero, (I simply do not have time), so you need to be comfortable editing pm files. Some simple instructions and you're pretty much on your own. PM me if you want the Java SpotifyHelper application. Hi, I'd like to run squeezeslave on a Windows XP machine to output music from squeezebox server to the PC's soundcard. Squeezeslave seems to be up to this task, its lightweight and simple enough (which I like), except it will only play mp3 files. If I try to play an Ogg/Vorbis track I get nothing but silence :( Most of my music is in this format so I need support for it. After two days of frustration, I finally got mine going again based on the info in this thread. For me, the fix from Peter didn't solve everything. One of the the class tag values for precipitation still needed to be changed...from "twc-col-3 twc-line-precip" to "twc-col-3 twc-line-precip severe-snow-highlight". I hope this 'severe-snow-highlight' doesn't start showing up in other places (I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow)! Super useful thread! Update: I've been posting new versions of SrvrPowerCtrl yesterday and today as I've come across minor buglets. The latest update (version 20110315.125752) fixed a one-liner that was preventing SrvrPowerCtrl from working with SqueezeCenter 7.3.4. I'm pleased to announce that the new version of SrvrPowerCtrl is compatible again with that ancient version of the server software. Hello, i bought the iPeng app for my iPhone and do really enjoy it. One thing i noticed is that it always adds the tracks of an album in random order when i touch the 'play now' button. Sure i can toggle the random function off on the 'now playing' screen but next time i want to play another album the tracks are added in random order again. I like to have the tracks ordered correctly when added. Did i miss a setting here? Can someone give me a hint?
