I wish I remember the guys name, but someone on this forum did actually
change the Sirius app on mysqueezebox.com a couple of months ago when
some people had problems with it after Sirius made some changes. While
he fixed it he forgot to code it to work in Europe too, but he wrote me
he didn't know that there were even Sirius listeners in Europe. He then
made the change and after he did everything worked fine again ! I also
remember de- and reinstalling the app to make it work. If I could just

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2015-03-16 Thread utgg

I'd like to reiterate that it is great to see Triode back with a working
plugin alpha implementing HLS in perl.

I'm seeing very high CPU usage on my 1.6GHz ARM NAS with this. Average
load in the LMS/perl process is around 40% - it peaks at 100% for over 2
seconds for each 6 second HLS chunk. By comparison ffmpeg or my
equivalent compiled code takes around 0.5% CPU overall, with 4% in the
LMS/perl process. It looks from what I can see of the code in HLS.pm
that this is still very much a Work In Progress, and I guess that it
will improve before Triode does a proper release. Still, it is very good
to see!

Just an info: As discogs changed their policies concerning anonymous
access to their API some time ago, the discogs lookup is broken (i.e. no

This isn't an extGUI4LMS issue, but affects all discog clients (e.g. the
one I use on Android also doesn't work anymore)

I'm still doubtful that this is a logitech issue. I listened to SiriusXM
(2 different channels) for at least 4 hours straight yesterday with no
buffering or dropouts. One thing I suggest is rebooting your router
(unplug, wait a minute, then replug router). This can sometimes clear
up some DNS issues, and these DNS issues affect squeezeboxes but not
other things connected to your network, such as your laptop.

Is your radio connected to mysqueezebox.com or to LMS running on a local

be the right place.

Maybe if enough people vote for it they will actually implement Radio

Thanks.

Ok, that looks the same as the more/less of this case in SmartMix.
Will look into this.

When pressing play instead of a right key press, I also get Now

Hmm there at least is hope that if I figure it out for one of them,
I should be good for them both.

No they haven't. They are still there, and still seem to be the only
ones providing the 'HD' 320kbps streams. Their own desktop browser
iPlayer still uses these RTMP streams via flash, and I suspect will
continue to do so for a quite a while.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sirius keeps rebuffering

2015-03-16 Thread Michael Herger

I tried both to exactly the same effect. As far as I can tell the
biggest difference is that you are listening in the US and I live in
Germany. A while ago the Sirius app for Squeezebox radio has been
updated and at first the developer forgot to tweak some part of it to
enable it to work in Europe also. He then fixed that and since then
everything worked fine. Im assuming some changes must have been made
again in these past few days (maybe by Sirius) that affect listening
with the Squeezebox app in Europe without a problem. I hope this gets
fixed otherwise I can only listen on the Sirius iphone app or on my
laptop.

FWIW: the only change in our Sirius implementation which happened in the
past 3.5 years was a change to the SSL configuration. That was no
functional change.

Streams from music services usually go to the player directly, without
mysb.com being involved. If you were using LMS you could try to enable
its proxied streaming option which would send the audio stream through
LMS. This often improves streaming when there are minor networking
issues between your player and the streaming server.

Please keep in mind that SiriusXM is a US only service. It's very
possible that they don't have optimized _global_ infrastructure. The
fact that it might be working ok on your smartphone might be thanks to
its bigger memory (and thus bigger buffers).

I did try it once. I think I need to change your commands for Arch Linux
and haven't yet figured out what they should be. So I've gone back to
basics for the time being. Time is still tight this week so might not be
able to report for some days.

2015-03-16 Thread Nojelc

I have not made any updates to anything yet, but I have found a url that
streams BBC4 flawlessly again on both Radio and Reciever, so far,
crossed fingers,

I am using this stream : BBC Radio 4 93.5 (National News) with this url

No they haven't. They are still there, and still seem to be the only
ones providing the 'HD' 320kbps streams. Their own desktop browser

continue to do so for a quite a while.
It's great that we can choose how we access On Demand - via HLS (Triode
plugin) or RTMP (bpa plugin / expectingtofly hack). Who would have
thought?

Nice to have you back Triode.

Installed new alpha version and everything fine.

Did not need to uninstall Play HLS or ffmpeg.

If your reading this I don't see the Local Radio live stations in my
menu, they're present on Listen Again. I'm not a great user of them but
it would be nice to see them back some time.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin

2015-03-16 Thread Michael Herger

- If I press 'play' on the remote to activate the option displayed, I
get Now playing: Nothing, and the music stops.

Not sure why that would happen. Will have to further investigate.

- If I press the right arrow to activate the option (which seems the
better way), then the screen goes blank and nothing happens. Music
continues. The IR seems unresponsive, and the screen stays blank until

Ok, I found two menus where this would happen: the more/less of this
kind items. Can't reproduce it in Walk With Me, though.

And then there was another issue where the mix would have been created,
but playback didn't start. It's some oddity in the underlying code for
the ip3k players. There's some additional parameter being sent which I
have no idea where it comes from... But I'll have a workaround for this.

(This is in no way a criticism as it is great that Triode has provided
 the update.)
I think this translates into a request to Triode that there be an On
Demand Stream Preference that has FlashAAC as the first choice?

2015-03-16 Thread ian_heys

I'm getting a 30 second progress bar on both my Windows 7/Latest 7.9 and
SOA/Wandboard/7.8.

In Windows playback ends after 30 seconds.

In SOA playback carries on after the progress bar is filled.
