Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
I'd like to reiterate that it is great to see Triode back with a working plugin alpha implementing HLS in perl. I'm seeing very high CPU usage on my 1.6GHz ARM NAS with this. Average load in the LMS/perl process is around 40% - it peaks at 100% for over 2 seconds for each 6 second HLS chunk. By comparison ffmpeg or my equivalent compiled code takes around 0.5% CPU overall, with 4% in the LMS/perl process. It looks from what I can see of the code in HLS.pm that this is still very much a Work In Progress, and I guess that it will improve before Triode does a proper release. Still, it is very good to see! utgg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40900 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sirius keeps rebuffering
I tried both to exactly the same effect. As far as I can tell the biggest difference is that you are listening in the US and I live in Germany. A while ago the Sirius app for Squeezebox radio has been updated and at first the developer forgot to tweak some part of it to enable it to work in Europe also. He then fixed that and since then everything worked fine. Im assuming some changes must have been made again in these past few days (maybe by Sirius) that affect listening with the Squeezebox app in Europe without a problem. I hope this gets fixed otherwise I can only listen on the Sirius iphone app or on my laptop. FWIW: the only change in our Sirius implementation which happened in the past 3.5 years was a change to the SSL configuration. That was no functional change. Streams from music services usually go to the player directly, without mysb.com being involved. If you were using LMS you could try to enable its proxied streaming option which would send the audio stream through LMS. This often improves streaming when there are minor networking issues between your player and the streaming server. Please keep in mind that SiriusXM is a US only service. It's very possible that they don't have optimized _global_ infrastructure. The fact that it might be working ok on your smartphone might be thanks to its bigger memory (and thus bigger buffers). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The IR seems unresponsive, and the screen stays blank until Ok, I found two menus where this would happen: the more/less of this kind items. Can't reproduce it in Walk With Me, though.
