Yes, me too. The player doesn't respond when trying to play Rhapsody.
Tried on SB3 and Boom.

Lots of threads on this. Bottom line, rhapsody will only work going

Hi,

used winscp to change the spotifyd files after stopping lms. Restarted
again and get the same info in the ssots-log as now (see underneath).

I have the possibility to reach my NAS via my Mac via ssh. But I don't
know how to start the spotifyd file

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Local Player plugin and Squeezelite for Linux/Windows/OSX

2015-04-30 Thread FatPete

Hi, I'm wondering if anybody could give me some guidance for some
SYNC_ERROR messages I'm getting when using Squeezelite.

LMS 7.9.0 - 1428327734 @ Tue Apr 7 04:05:31 CUT 2015
Squeezelite 1.7 (and also happens with Local Player plugin 1.6.5)
Windows 8.1 Pro
HP Proliant N40L Microserver with 8GB RAM

Basically things will be working fine for a while and then I'll start
getting intermittent FLAC SYNC_ERROR messages whilst playing tracks.

CPU usage seems fine monitoring via Task Manager and all FLAC files are
stored locally. If I restart the track then it will usually play through
okay, but then the following track will have the same issue etc. Have
tested flac files with the FLAC utility and everything plays 100%
perfect with foobar.

Squeezelite output device is the default Windows MME output.

Any suggestions as how I can troubleshoot this would be appreciated. The
only messages in the Squeezelite log is the SYNC_ERROR message.

Thanks!
Pete

I am due to receive one those AirPlay/DlNA adapters tomorrow and after I
have experimented with that I will post up my logs. I have a full
/var/log rotate going and have almost got the service control right.
Tiny bit more work required on the script.

Good - I've been wondering for a while if I should try to do an easy
installer integrated in LMS like Triode did for SqueezeLite. That would
be a large amount of work for me as I'm not a perl developer (at all
...) so I'm hesitating to do that "investment" as I'm not sure there is
enough people interested by the simplication it would bring. There are
obviously some interested by sq2u (starting with me :)) but obviously
not a very large number, so ... don't know

Apart from the fact that some devices just simply don't work, the most
confusing aspect of sq2upnp is the volume setting parameters - and I
have to admit I gave up using it because of this issue - particularly
when switching streams sets the device volume to the lowest level and
has to be manually increased after each switch.

ah ... this is not normal at all. You mean that when switching between
(eg) Qobuz, then Deezer, then playing a local file (or even between
tracks), the volume is reset to the minimum ? It is not supposed to do
that

Not quite - for example, my Vistron reciva radio works. I select BBC4
to play - then need to increase the device volume to hear it. I switch
to R5 - volume drops again and I need to increase it again. Gets
tedious, I'm afraid.

I had to set new volume settings in the config file because the default
settings produce output at an ear-screeching volume.

Can you tell what settings you changed in the config file for avoid the
ear-screeching volume ? What can happen is that by default, LMS will
send a volume command from 0 to 65536 (with a log-scale - BTW, what you
see on LMS GUI is a linear volume from 0 to 100). Normally, uPnP devices
accept volume from 0 to 100, on a linear scale. So sq2u does the log/lin
translation between these 2 "domains" and this is what is
for.

Some players have different volume settings that have a max at (eg) 30.
So in that case most of LMS commands will set volume above 30 with that
awfully loud volume result

Normally, the default parameters say the following

1- Send an extra volume command when the uPnP player has confirmed that
it is playing a song - otherwise sq2u sends the command as soon as but
only when it receives it from LMS (force_volume)
2- Wait until the uPnP player has confirmed that it is playing a song
before sending ANY volume command - (volume_on_play)

Thanks so much. It's too late to try now. I'll do it tomorrow and
report back.

I suggest setting back the to 1 so that when you change
track, a proper volume command is sent to the player (hence avoiding the
"reset to 0") and change the parameter the following way

0:0, 400:3, 700:7, 1200:10, 2050:13, 3800:17, 6600:20,
12000:23, 21000:26, 37000:28, 65536:30

With that, the volume command should work, but limited to a much lower
level. The relation between LMS command and the player actual volume
might not yet match your tase in term of "proportionality between the
2", but that can be easily fixed if at least the max is correct - I'll
adjust the curve to what you want later

The way this works is:

when LMS requests 0, send a 0 to the player
when LMS requests 400, send 3 to the player
...
when LMS requests 12000, send 23 to the player
when LMS requests 21000, send 26 to to the player
...
when LMS requests 65536, send 30 to the player

and when LMS request a value (for example) between 12000 and 21000, then
sq2u does a linear approxmation between the 2 values

PS: I tracked back to some exchanges we had int he past hence I thought
30 was the proper max for you player.

I understand - I've now started to write the proper script to install
and configure it from LMS directly ... using again Triode's example ...
getting there
