I was wrong about Squeezelite using FFMpeg for flac decoding. It uses libFlac, the reference decoder from Xiph. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
All, What Pinkdot has done is just fantastic, and I am getting ready to switch from Synology's LMS to Pinkdot's 7.9. However, before i do this i would like to get some input from the users to make the transition as painless as possible. - Based on my setup (listed below) are there any issues that I should be aware of? - My music library is iTunes ALAC, located on Synology DS1512+ and I use Logitech iTunes Integration plugin to access it through LMS. Any issues with this functionality with 7.9? - I use Triode Spotify plugin in order to have Spotify available on Squeezebox Duos. Again, any issues with this functionality with 7.9? - Can this LMS 7.9 installation keep my current LMS 7.7.3 settings? - What exactly has to be un-installed before LMS 7.9 installation? Interesting: exiting iPeng and then lowering volume using the button on the side of the phone, then killing and restarting iPeng has resulted in the in-app player defaulting to 56%. The volume-ramping issue with other players no longer manifests itself... :) Peter314's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14028 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The volume iPeng uses for its player is server-controlled so whenever iOeng starts the player, the volume is set to the volume the server sends, that's consistent with the behavior of a squeezebox and allows remote control of the volume. iPeng remembers the volume the device was set to before you opened iPeng and restores this level when you quit it. Your iPhone was probably set to 100% volume before you started iPeng and that's where it reverts to. It's of course different if iPeng still plays, then the playback volume still remains valid, it should change when playback stops (actually five minutes later, when iPeng goes to sleep). I'll have to check whether there is some kind of edge case where the volume change is handled wrongly if the volume was set to 100% before you enter iPeng. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 8, the Universal App for iOS 7 and iOS 8* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
@pippin Nothing is synced that I can see. But I notice that iPhone playback has an oddity whereby it always reverts to 100% volume as soon as the iPhone's home key is pressed. The same thing does not happen with iPad playback. With iPad, the volume is unchanged on exit and on re-entry. I wonder if the iPhone playback oddity is related to the volume increase problems when using it to control other players? Simple resizing of raster images is probably the worst way of resizing images with simple shapes and sharp edges, like icons. You'll end up with blurry icons. It's probably no better than just letting the device do it automatically when the app runs. The correct way of building and resizing those type of icons is to create the originals as vector shapes and resize them as vector shapes before saving them to raster images. Even then, it sometimes doesn't work right when you resize images that have fine horizontal or vertical lines because the vector shape lines end up half way between pixel lines after the resize. In those cases the smaller versions have to be hand tweaked. michi wrote: > About the icons: I know everyone has different opinions and a different > taste. Sorry, but I like having the icons in the menu and that's the way I want the app to look to everyone. Having a different icon pack is not possible since a lot of those icons are loaded from the server and even if I created replacements for all the standard server icons, some plugins have their own icons too and they tend to be in the same style as the server's. -- Squeezebox apps for webOS, Android and Windows Phone, http://www.angrygoatapps.com wt0's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18760 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96757 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Edimax EW-7811Un WiFi USB not working with Max2Play
I had a quick try setting this up by following the you tube video. Inserted USB into PI and followed the below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsEBb_CIJ5A I removed the Ethernet connection (to test the WIFI) and rebooted and I couldnt the access max2play interface. Also the without Ethernet connected the Raspberry PI seems to power down (lights going off on the storage USB and wireless USB). Have I missed out a stage or am I being really thick? Possibly both? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
I've upgraded to ver 2.15, upgraded the raspberry pi settings, and rebooted. Everything is working excellent! Nice work to all involved! 192 khz files are playing properly. I added the option -s xx.xx.xxx.xxx (where xx.xx.xxx.xxx=my external IP Address) while the Raspberry pi is still ethernet connected to my home network, just to see if that option works when I take the Raspberry pi on the road, and it did connect to my LMS server. However, I noticed minor clicking on several tracks, not just limited to the high resolution tracks. I changed the ALSA option on Squeezelite to 300::16:0 and that seemed to resolve the problem. I'll be checking this out remotely this weekend or next. I uploaded LMS server to the Raspberry pi. Today I will mount my external drive with about 40,000 tunes on it (it is a Raspberry Pi Model B) to see if it can process it efficiently. If not, I may graduate to a Raspberry Pi 2 in the near future. Thanks for the great product and all of the support so far! stereoptic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re-entry after any time increases the volume. If done immediately, the increment is 5. A longer interval can cause an increase which is a multiple of 5. You see the volume slider move to the right shortly after re-entry (as well as hearing the volume increase, of course). No Bluetooth speakers, Airplay or other external audio component that I can think of. There are a couple of iPads though, at least one of which has playback enabled in iPeng. I haven't tested whether the same thing happens with either of them but can do so tonight if it might help with diagnosis...
