Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi - I'm thinking about release 0.2.6.0 but I've made numerous small changes and correction here and there, some being inspired by the mistakes I discovered while developping the Chromecast Bridge. I've done tests, but this starts to be a lot of burden for me to try all permutations and combinations and some help would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to avoid releasing a problematic version. Here is the list of changes I've made, and if some of you could be brave enough to test this -dev-14, use it normally, maybe try some of the new features and report back, I would be very grateful. I'm looking for problem around pausing, repositioning, playlist automatic move to next track. There is no change around audio format management. http://sourceforge.net/projects/lms-to-upnp/files/dev/repo-sf.xml Thank you Features - Volume changes on remote are detected and forwarded back to LMS - 'volume curve' is not used any more, but the build-in LMS gain - Add to start playing automatically on power on - Enable icy metadata (streaming radio title changes) for players that support it - add to control usage of icy metadata - Use remote artwork when available instead of coverid - add option to authorize players to close/re-open connection on pause and seek through byte - UPnP event subscription is now used (for Volume), so now device is not removed as long as subscription is auto renewed, even if it UPnP discovery is missed Correction - Artwork was not set when LMS server address was not discovered (when set explicitely in XML config file) - Server was not discovered ip:port set in XML config file, so the version could be missed and aiff bug workaround (7.7 vs others) would not work - now forces a proper 'stop' of the UPnP player (was a pause that did not always work before) - in Linux the mutex timeout for sq_open could be set wrong creating an long lock for player requesting the same file times (concurrent HTTP GET) - When receiving on/off, do not force a STOP anymore - Remove parameter (was unused) - Remove parameter and replace it by SetMute function - (P) update some strings - (P) add ICY metadata option - (P) set log lines to 1000 - (P) add byte_seek option - (P) link to log, config and guide were potentially system-wide conflicting LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Unfortunately I'm out in the countryside and I don't have any true Squeezebox hardware players here, so I will not be able to test it. But I'll have to try it some more with CCA - so far, every song I've tried using "Song Mix" for, has come up with "No Item", so I doubt that it's the songs that are obscure... But I will test some more. My two penn'orth. I've been a BBC listener through LMS for ten years and have to thank you, Triode and the many other contributors who have made this a great pleasure over the years. The two new experimental plug-ins are working fine for me. Wind back is not something I'm missing at the moment. My connection has always been rock solid and I'm a dyed in the wool traditionalist who likes to either listen to programmes when they're on the wireless or a day or two later if I miss them. It is however a feature that is coming in on not only web based players but also things like Sky TV Movies too. If you do a full release, and you're in agreement I think you should ask Triode if he minds you taking over the main BBC iPlayer plugin with suitable accreditation to him and the other contributors. ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

As most of us are Squeezebox users I don't think many use the BBC web based player very, if at all, often, so there is currently no user led demand for the feature. I often start listening to a program after it has started, so I think skip back to the start/a few minutes would be a useful feature. Not sure what happened but it is now working  I have only just subscribed to Sublime although I previously had an expired trial account. I also (due to separate reasons) rebooted my Mac mini - so maybe this helped? It is now playing the FLAC OK. :D Thanks for getting back to me and apologies for the delay in replying - the forum replies were going into my ISP spam box and I only get a daily summary - I have now corrected this :) logrunner's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97146 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

There is a feature of BBC DASH live streams I'm scared to consider because I think the UI implications are very involved and would affect all UIs - make it really hard to test. For live streams BBC support 2hrs playback - AFAICT playing any live stream can be told to start up to 2hrs earlier. Intended use is "live playback" to say go back 15 mins and listen to somehting again. This feature overlaps with "Listen Again" so I'm not sure whether the effort to implement it is worthwhile as not many people would use it. The UI issue is that on LMS the time is usually "live" with an elapsed clock on left or a duration bar where position is indicated. I included the different URL for uk world service on DASH as well just in case it does turn out to play different uk-only content. It does look to be valid, and returns a good dash .mpd (index) file. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
Just a small thing. For completeness it would perhaps be good to include mrw's patch for fixing the 'More Info' display of file format and bitrate. Patch description is here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?53229-Announce-BBCiPlayer-Plugin-(UK-only)&p=817083&viewfull=1#post817083. The bit to remove the redundant icon url at the end of the constructed iplayer://aod? string certainly seems very sensible to me. Something additional would need to be added to DASH.pm as well as HLS.pm to get the bitrate to also show up. utgg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40900 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
