Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
There is a secondary issue with BBC wqhere multiple tries are need to get a program playing. LMS caching is exacerbating the issue. It seems the BBC are not fully up to speed after the hack - often http requests have to be retried before a good response is returned. I thought this was a part of the change in interface in reponse to the web site attack but since it also seems to occurs using standard Browser GUI so I now think it could be a performance issue but cannot be sure. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Stuck on "Plugin updates are available..." loop
Hi guys I've had this problem for a while, but it's time I finally try to sort it out! I have my LMS (7.9.0 - 1425992829) running on a QNAP TS 219-P. The main web interface page shows the alert that there are plugin updates available, and when I follow the link to the plugins page I can see that 4 of them need updates. One is Triode's BBC iPlayer app, and this is the one I'd really like to get working so we can get the catch-up services again. If I tick the boxes and restart the same plugins come back again as requiring updates. Looking at a previous thread here 'http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?98788-Help-please-Plugins-won-t-update-delete-Album-Review-amp-Biography' (http://http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?98788-Help-please-Plugins-won-t-update-delete-Album-Review-amp-Biography) I saw that mherger was asking for the server log, so I took a look and sure enough there are some clear errors there, but at this point I'm totally out of my depth, because I don't know what any of it really means, or what I should do about it! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hello Philippe, at first thank you very much for this great plugin. I had UPnP/DNLA bridge running successfully on Daphile (last official version from December 8) together with the Bridge II of my PSA DS DAC. To be honest, I have bought the Bridge II just for one reason, to make the DS DAC to a "Squeezebox" with help of your plugin. It worked great! With these settings (please look below) I had no issues at all. PCM/DSD playback worked, also gapless. It seems there is a newer version of your plugin now and unfortunately, I had activated that "plugins automatically update". Well, since two days or three the playback with activated "fixed large size" (HTTP streaming option) doesn't work anymore. At first I thought that my Bridge II is broken till I realized the different "look" of the plugin now. So, at the moment PCM playback is only possibile with the modes "chunked (open range)" and "no size" but the continuous playback is comparatively buggy. The next track gets skipped often. DSD playback is not possible anymore. Is it possible to make the former plugin version available again? *sigh* :) Strange, I can not offer the configuration file. Daphile doesn't "find" it. Merci beaucoup in advance. Bonne Annee/Happy New Year to everyone! If setup is identical to other players then part of this issues is BBC . After the hack, some programs are being erratic in playing with the symptoms shown above. Delay in playing is usually because plugin is trying different formats (about 3 secs per format). If you want "instant" response reduce the number of formats being checked in BBCiPlayer Settings. Because of repeated presses and LMS cachine bad response are then being used. When testeing - to avoid caching - if after an error never try playing the same program twice on the same player without a LMS restarts and cache being cleared. If the fault is with LMS/Plugin installation/setting then all program are the same and all should behave the same. If the fault is with BBC - then same program will be faulty everytime. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Furry wrote: > All three (artist, title, and cover art) are being displayed at first > (but only if I use 'play' on the LMS GUI, not if I use SqueezePlay), but > none of them update when the track changes. This is normal and due to the way live stream work. All players (CC or UPnP), accept to received the metadata of a track at the "load" time, when they are instructed what to do to acquire the audio track. For individual tracks, this happens at every track, but for a live stream, this happens only once at the beginning of the playback, then it is just a very long stream of audio ... With ICY, a partial solution has been developped and that is to insert some metadata in the audio stream, from time to time (every X bytes). Title, artist can be inserted and some say an url to the coverart. I send the 3, but only artist and title are used by all players I've tested so far. So, as a result, when playing radio paradize, for example, you see the full metadata of the 1st track (artist, title, coverart) and then only the artist and title will change. When you press "next" or "stop+play", it is like starting a new track, so the whole metadata are sent > Yep, that's what I've been doing. Then I don't understand what's happening. Normally, when you apply modified parameters, squeeze2cast is stopped and that can take a while. But after that, if you modify parameters and apply while it is stopped, it absolutely should be instantaneous. LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Click "erase" to rebuild a valid one I couldn't get it to save even after generating a new file so I removed the plugin and installed it again. This has allowed me to save a port number but I struggled to find one that the wasn't in use so changed back to "?". I don't think my firewall is a problem any more as I've allowed all ports for squeeze2cast-win.exe through my firewall and don't see any connection errors in the log but still no joy. As stated before, checking the PID that squeeze2cast-win.exe is using with netstat I can see various ports open and a connection from both chromecast devices but no sound when I try to play music! In the chromecast app I can see that casting is activated on the device and I can see the album art. badsoden's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62818 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [HOW TO] Squeezelite player on Windows 8 step by step
I decided to remove the manual install of Squeezelite and installed the 'Local Player' plug-in via LMS. Can't believe I didn't know that was an option. From the Settings page I can change drivers easily. That side of thing seems OK now but I still can't get MP3 or Spotify working using either the MME or ASIO driver. I know this issue has been flogged but haven't found a straight forward answer. I understood the Local Player plug-in had MP3 support built in? I have unpacked MAD MPEG decoder on the player machine but don't know whether it needs to sit in a certain directory. Perhaps I am better taking discussion 'here' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?97766-Announce-Local-Player-plugin-and-Squeezelite-for-Linux-Windows-OSX) seeing I will stick with the plug-in installation. adamg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62284 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100893 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
