Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Shoutcast Plugin

2016-09-27 Thread Michael Herger

Hmm... Make this a 0 or remove the flag all together, and I think it
would work. In Perl anything but an empty string, undefined or 0 is
considered "true". And we don't check for the literal "false" to be false.

Ok, changed that to accept 'false' or 'no' as false values in the plugin
installation manifest. Should be available in an hour.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux

2016-09-27 Thread notorious.dds

Thanks everyone for all of your input on these pluggins (especially
BPA!)

I've run into a bit of an issue with the waveinput pluggin on my
Raspberry Pi. If I play a stereo mp3 file, it works fine. However, if
I play a mono mp3 file, the LMS player can't play the file. Here's what
I'm using:

- LMS running under Linux on Raspberry Pi (running Raspbian Wheezy)
- Mp3 file being played using mpg321
- Output of mpg321 going to loopback device (in my case hw:2,0,0)
- WaveInput recording from loopback device (in my case hw:2,1,0)
- Audio attempting to be played on Squeezelite running under Raspbian
Wheezy (also tried Squeezelite on Ubuntu 14.04).

Again, if mpg321 displays that it is playing a stereo mp3, all works as
desired.

However, if mpg321 displays that it is playing an mp3 in mono,
squeezelite players (all LMS players?) can't play the stream.

Any thoughts would be appriciated.

Thanks!

The only use I can see in these voice devices is if they can be used to
control LMS - there's one alexa skill on github which implements a
'primitive' or rather 'basic' squeezebox controller. Hasn't been
updated or refined for over a year.

The echo is a good device, but as you might have guessed, it does not
always like my accent, so that can be a bit irritating from time to
time. The very first thing you want from voice reco is to not have to
repeat yourself a lot - humans already feel awkward talking to a

I have enjoyed many an hour listening music through it.

I hope this is the correct place to report this, apologies if I am

On the RPI, squeeze2cast-armv6hf is failing to launch with segmentation
faults.
I'm running LMS on an RPI Model B, with Raspbian Jessie Lite
LMS upgraded to the plugin to CastBridge-0.2.3.0 at some point in time,
not sure when I haven't been using the Chromecast for a while.
I manually tried the executable files from CastBridge-0.2.2.6.,
CastBridge-0.2.2.3 but they failed in a similar fashion.
CastBridge-0.2.2.1 works fine however.

Strange because this is almost my exact test config: win7 and 7.7.6.
Sounds like a key problem. If you want, you can pm me your key and I'll
try. Otherwise, set the plugin log to debug and send that to me. Be
aware that your key appears in the log, so edit the file before if you
are uncomfortable with that

No glitches, plays ok.
Also no problem with 3 groups playing the same - Boom, 2x Touch, 2x
Radio simultaneously.

Synced with 2 x Touch - no glitches, plays ok.
Synced with 2 x Radio - no glitches, plays ok.

All problems as described are with Live streams, mainly Radio 6 and 4,
displays as 339kbps CBR, AAC LC.

> 2. What are the BBCiPlayer settings (i.e. are you playing HLS, DASH)
Live Stream Preference HLS > DASH > MP3 > FlashAAC > FlashMP3
I have also tried the DASH > HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC with no difference in
performance.

In UK, no VPN, standard Netgear R7000 router

80Mb FTTC connection that is pretty much full speed as I'm only about
50m from the FTTC cabinet.

Lastly, I have been looking at the server CPU usage whilst testing and
it rarely get above 1%. Even when playing the BBC streams it only
occasionally blips higher than 1%, up to 5%.

Try changing SQUEEZELITE_PARAMETER to use hw: for the device. The -R is
superfluous for resample exception without a recipe, so can be left
there.

Code:

SQUEEZELITE_PARAMETER=-o hw:CARD=sndrpihifiberry -a 80:4:: -R -u E

When I play the stream with debug enabled, squeezelite resamples the
stream and plays in my testing.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version

2016-09-27 Thread RegWard

Sorry to start filling the thread with non-useful sycophancy but can I
just concur with the previous comments about how much of a debt we owe
to bpa & triode. I would have migrated away to other, less capable,
platforms ages ago were it not for their tireless efforts to keep me and
my beloved Radio4 together!

The only scrap of productive input I can add is to confirm that with 4
Radios and a Boom it is only the Boom which suffers repeated rebuffering
to the point of being unusable. The Radios never miss a beat whether all
streaming iplayer independently or synced. Wired/wireless makes no
difference and with 100mb fibre & decent hardware it firmly points to
old firmware in the boom dealing with something differently to the
Radios, rather than infrastructure.

I migrated from a Win7 VM to a Win10 VM running LMS7.9 some time ago but
cannot remember if that coincided with any deterioration. I'll
re-install a Win7 VM and see if that makes a difference.

Any testing you need don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks again for all your time and effort.

Reg

Maybe the plugin SBNetIO fits to your needs. See 'this thread'

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Webhook / HTTP Plugin - Does One Exist?

2016-09-27 Thread mtudor

We're currently developing Squeezebox control for the Athom Homey home
automation device and as part of this, we'd love to add the ability for
Homey to react when the track changes, the device is paused from the
controller, or the state otherwise changes externally.

The best way (and I'm open to other ideas) seems to be if there is a
plugin which will send out an HTTP request on certain events (e.g. track
change) that we could point at the Homey API endpoint for our app. Does
anyone know if an HTTP / Webhook plugin already exists? It seems like
we shouldn't be the first to think / request it but I'm having trouble
finding anything.

It might be that there is a better way to achieve this (polling doesn't
seem like a good way!) so I'm open and grateful for any and all input.
Maybe there is even a way for our Homey App to register itself for HTTP
updates or something along those lines?

Thanks guys!

Well - at the moment I can still listen to BBC (live and Play Again) -

I think so as it is more about TV licence revenue - somehow getting more
people to pay for TV licences who currently don't have a TV but watch
programs on phone/tablet/PC - perhaps reminding them on login.

I think this is mainly TV as TV is already "blocked" for non UK whereas
Radio has explicit support for non UK. Perhaps UK user will need ID to
get high Quality.

I'm waiting for the comments from the ex-pats in S. Spain and Portugal -

Hm - does this apply to the out of UK users as well? Do they accept
non-UK postcodes?
