Wow - Can it pause live radio for 3 hours? That's fantastic. I didn't
know that. I always assumed that it was fairly short lived, as I think
(but only *think*) that in the dim and distant past the pause seemed to
go back to live pretty quickly (five minutes or so).

I often get interrupted at irritating times, and to be able to
confidently pause for as long as a couple of hours or so will be
fantastic.

Thank you for all your efforts on this. I've been using Squeezeboxes for
ten years, and find myself fully addicted to the iPlayer plugin. Your
work is outstanding, and hugely appreciated.

My experience is that Radio France streams (from pdf above) are 128 kbps
and much better quality than Tunein one's (64 kbps by default). But both
working fine with your plugin

I just realised that the menus are still there in Squeezer, so I guess

Only DASH format has allows you go back up to a BBC defined size which
currently is three hours.
Pausing is not the best way to use this buffer - I think it is better to
to use the "skip back" menu to go back to either start of program or a
time jump as chosed in the Settings.

Funnily enough I'd like exactly this feature too, though I'm not so
fussed about configurable time limits. I just want my radio streams to
be exactly that - radio streams ; i.e. always "live" unless I
deliberately seek backwards.

I can FFWD to live from a paused state but I'd much rather be able to
either disable pause altogether and start live each time I hit play or
have a "FFWD-to-live" option via a long keypress or equivalent. Quite
regularly I've found players paused from long back and hit play again
and only realised later I was not listening to current data.. yeah I
know if I can't tell the difference it doesn't matter right? :) ("239
minutes ago" scrolling across the screen!)

(If I've missed a FFWD-to-live option that already exists, then
apologies - if that's already in there I didn't spot it.)

I can understand disabling pause altogether as it is hard with LMS as
pause/stop are the same button but mrmichaelwright requested "a user
definable time period".

There is the "cancel skip back" option which only appears if live
stream has been paused or skipped back - this reset stream back to live.

Just to confirm changing that setting "Pause at Power off" has done
exactly what it says! Just a few other comments

I have a few of these in the day, doesn't impact the audio, seems to be
slightly worse on catch up items. I've changed the CDN for live to see
if it makes a difference, but I guess this is just telling me about
delays that could even be on the wifi ? or CDN
[17-02-16 19:58:59.9554] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::DASH::__ANON__ (732) Chunk

If I take a catch up item and scroll backwards and forwards pausing and
playing. In any case not a problem

Finally just on extras 1.9.5 (I guess interaction with 1.5.3) - and if
this should be on a different thread sorry. I get no pictures on the
radio, but I do if I pick the same item on 1.5.3. On the LMS web page,
I get a picture at the top, but just below by the text you get a picture
on 1.5.3 which is absent with extras. It is set to use dash and I do
get this error:
[17-02-17 10:05:31.9333]
Plugins::BBCiPlayerExtra::ExtraPlayableParser::parse (79) Unknown

I guess this is saying the item is not DASH - shows 320kbs CBR aac and
order for on demand DASH>HLS>MP3>FlashAAC

In any case the audio is alway first rate.

This is a CDN delay - some users complain of stutters and gaps - this
message will show when the delay is actually due to CDN (often regional)
and not local network/system. Normal delay is usually between 80 and
125msec with 1.5.3 (with 1.4.* it is usually about 200-250msec). When
something happens in BBC/CDN you can get delays of much longer such as
12-30 secs so 0.9 secs is not bad. Long delays usually happen at peak
usage hours (e.g. R4 Mon-Thurs 5.00pm-7.30pm)

Bug. I should have checked if playing a "Listen Again" as the estimation
is then not applicable (i.e. can't delay a Listen Again program)

This is odd. Sometimes these errors relate to specific programs or time

Hi Girth

To call the current stage beta is a tad optimistic, though excellent
progress is being made. Currently, there are around 30 testers signed up
through this thread and who've received invites to a teamwork project
portal. That's where the plugin file is distributed and feedback
discussions take place.I've stopped inviting new testers for the moment
as this group now has a good feel for how to set up and run the test
code and report issues etc. If I start giving more people access now,
I'll spend a good deal of my time dealing with set-up and other teething
issues rather than concentrating on coding.

However, soon enough I will need a new cohort of testers to take a fresh
look when I have the base infrastructure up and running. Below I've
posted the current skeleton development release plan. I would expect to
be inviting more users in at version 0.2. If you'd like access at that
stage and have some time to help test, please send me a PM with the
email address you use for your Amazon account and I'll invite you when
we get there.

Which menu did you use to get to the program (e.g. by category, by
station, by schedule or alphabetic) - there are four routes - each from
a different source. It looks like BBC have inserted a "https" somewhere
instead of "http".

You shouldn't change Extra menu.opml - only the BBCiPlayer plugin
menu.opml because of interdependencies.

Tried each one in turn and watched the error log, - on every single
selection Station, Category and so on gives the same (79) error.
Checked the files installed against the download from sourceforge.zip
and the opml is the downloaded version. Not sure what to do next.. As
I say it all works through 1.5.3 without error. I do have crypto/SSL

I'm running 1.5.3/1.9.5/ on LMS 7.8 without https suppport (!) and all 4
menu types work no error and with pictures.

For UK users of Extra 128k is FlashAAC and 320kbps is DASH.

Can you try playing Archers of today 17/2 with logging of
plugin.bbciplayer.extra set to DEBUG

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2017-02-17 Thread Diana

Spotify updated its software today, and none of my LMS apps are now
updating with the playlists I've created today using Spotify's own app
on my Mac.

I've tried viewing my updated playlists on iPeng, the Squeezebox app,
and my Squeexebox Classic players themselves (using the remote) which
are running Triode's plugin. None of these shows the changes I made -
they display the playlists as they were several hours ago.

All of Spotify's own apps on my various Apple devices show the changes
correctly.

Any ideas about what's going on?

Thanks - there are UK only (I don't get them in my feeds) additions
which offer additional streams for same program from the llnw CDN
including https. I think the plugin just ignores it and logs the fact
that https was offered..

I'll need to study to see if the missing images are related.

Nothing to do with iPeng.
And there are at least a dozen threads on this on the forum. Short: you
need to use the Logitech (MySqueezebox.com) implementation of Spotify
together with the Spotify protocol handler or the Triode plugin

I'm using the Triode plugin (which is what you recommend with iPeng, if
I recall correctly). I guess it's Triode plugin that's ceased to work
after the Spotify update. I may give the Logitech implementation +
protocal handler a try instead, if that's OK with iPeng.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I don't recommend the Triode plugin, it's unsupported and outdated.
Playlist updates there have been problematic for a year or so now.
I would recommend to use Logitech's MySB implementation with the Spotify
protocol handler plugin.
But really, read one of the Spotify threads on it, please

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2017-02-17 Thread wnshall

And some more information. I just installed 7.8 (1487060116 @ Sat Feb
18 03:04:41 CUT 2017), and dynamic playlists correctly appears under the
M mixer icon in the WebUI for the Playlist menu. So it appears it's
something in 7.9 that breaks this behavior of Erland's plugins.

I didn't pay much attention to the Logitech app and protocol handler
because Michael was saying at the outset that they weren't going to work
with the SB Classic, which is what I've always used. Clearly, I've not
been keeping up to date!

So thanks for your helpful advice. I'll get on to it today!
