Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
Hi jtsqueeze, some questions and ideas to localize the problem: - I would propose to keep the MusicIP pluging activatated, it might help with the debugging. - when you import your files into your library (let the library clear and rescan), does the LMS info show that MusicIP import has happened (xx files imported)? - You can quickly check if MusicIP is working: When playing a song which has been validated in MusicIP, open the context menu (M or +): There should be an option to "Create MusicIP Mix" for validated songs - To test Sugarcube: Make sure that for your player the "SugarCube Mix Mode" is set to standardMusicIP, not freestyle random mixing. While playing a validated song, select "create mix from playing" in the player context menu or select in the web-interface "SugarCube Quick Play". If Sugarcube - musicIp is not working, you should get an alert in the player Display, that there is a MusicAPi problem and that a random track will be used instead. - It might be good to switch on Debugging for the MusicIP and Sugarcube Plugin, while doing these operations and look at the log-file - In general I recommend to archive the MusicIP fingerprint in the music files, as this will speed up restoring the MusicIP database if you need to recreate it or want to transfer between different setups jtsqueeze wrote: > Thanks for replying. Unfortunately not. There is no formatting information being supplied by the podcast plugin so this could be a normal menu item like an artist name etc. There is a way in the menu definition protocol to specify that something is extended text and iPeng would the show it that way (e.g. happens for biographies etc. in the Music Artist Information Plugin) but few plugins/apps make use of that. Thanks for the explanation. I have one suggestion / request, if I may: When using the Podcasts App (The Logitech Podcast App - not the Podcast menue-item within the Radio menue) and using a Podcast i.e. http://web.ard.de/radiotatort/rss/podcast.xml When selecting a Podcast, you show at the Bottom (below Wiedergabe) the description of the respective podcast ("Beschreibung") However, this is done in a tiny font size and also only part of that description is shown when its a longer text. Is there a way to use std font size and show the entire text of the description? That would be very beneficial, as these description have good information in them. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Eigene Musik in most setups is a placeholder. iPeng flattens out the main menu by moving albums/artists etc. to the main menu level, particularly because then you can move them to the tab bar (and because its faster to scroll than to navigate sub menus). But some people want to hide some menu items and instead of adding a complex scheme to create own menu levels iPeng offers a few placeholders to move stuff into --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
This became instantly my favourite Remote-App for iOS! Modern looking, fast and slim. Thank you! (So far, I use iPeng for iOS, which is good, but a little over-engineered for my needs / taste and OrangeSqueeze on Android) One thing does not work for me properly, though: When using the Logitech Podcasts App (to be clear - I am talking about the Logitech Podcast App - not the Podcast menue-item within the Radio menue) and using a Podcast with multiple entries - i.e. http://web.ard.de/radiotatort/rss/podcast.xml you get only the icons of the podcast-list - but the text / description of the respective podcasts are missing (bug#1) Furthermore, if you select one of the items, the next page displayed is missing your std "home" / back entry at the top of the screen and there is no (easy) way back from that menue entry (bug#2) Lastly a suggestion / wish when selecting a Podcast in the Podcast-App: Std. behaviour (i think) would be to show the entries "Play", "Play Next", "Add to Playlist". It would be great if you could add what the respective podcast lists under "description" To my knowledge, only AngryGoats "OrangeSqueeze" (Android App) does this and it is really helpful. This is meant as constructive feedback, not complaining in any way! Great work - great Skin! Thank you again! I fetch them in batches of 100, when you scroll nearer the bottom, the next set is fetched, etc. The issue is that then all currently fetched items are part of the HTML DOM, which (I think) would start to slow things down. I have experimented (and previous releases used) a 'view recycler' library - where only a portion of the current list was part of the DOM. This had issues where navigating down into the bowse page, and then back up, some items would not be shown. Hence I disabled this for now, and will re-add later. I have many things to do, so optimisations should probably come later. I was using an older version of the library, as I could not get newer versions to work - so this might be fixed in the lib itself. mherger wrote: > >> 3. I have a largish library. What I intend to do is give an option to divide Artist and Album lists into letter groupings. Then I'll fetch this 'textKey' block and create that number of sub items, and list entries under that. e.g. Artists > A > Abba, AC/DC, etc. Using it as a 'jump list' into the browse list is possible if I create all view entries on initial fetch, and only populate the currently visible data. This is possible, but I still worry that 3000 items is a lot for the DOM. Hence thinking that splitting them up makes more sense. As an aside, seeing as the current browse method works, I intend to leave it like this until most of the other features are implemented, and then I will go back and replace app listing, etc, with SlimBrowse. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
