Spotty 4.0.1 here, on Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 168 on my NAS. BTW: there's a Spotty v4 thread somewhere... Suddenly, Spotty doesn't work anymore, you click it and nothing happens. What has changed in your environment? Did you install any update to the system? Any plugin update? Did you install additional software? I don't use the new gesture controls, I prefer previous version that the pixel 3 came with. Squeeze Ctrl haven't been made to work with the new gesture system. Basically, apps have the option to request the system gestures be limited to just the bottom third of the screen. I'll add that when I get around to it. The rating stars actually an image or more specifically 6 images, one for each possible state. There's just not enough demand for me to change it to support an arbitrary number of stars. You could also run ngrok on a dedicated pi that is never rebooted so the tunnel never dies. Also, looking through my favourites list, I spotted that it had a hierarchical link that was pointing to mysqueezebox.com favourites, removing that link fixed the problem. I have got ngrok to auto run, I have one remaining question, after I reboot my server, and ngrok auto starts, I have to re-link the skill. Is that as expected ie. the old tunnel is dropped and a new one is started and it always has a random name and can't be fixed/defined (unless I guess I pay for an ngrok package)? I disabled the native ogg support and forced it to use FLAC transcoding on the server (on the setttings/advanced/file types page)- that way you can certainly seek within tracks, and ReplayGain works properly as well. Spotty is accepted in the devices list of "spotify". I have not changed anything at all. When i press the spotty icon on my squeezebox touch it keeps on starting the app but nothing happens. I have found a small (but annoying) bug. I use the app on an Nvidia Shield and I can happily report the TV remote allows me to navigate around the app with selections highlighted. In the Favourites section however there is no highlight although I can still use the remote relying on guesswork and intuition. Looks like the highlights got missed from this section. Also is there an option that will close or mute SB Player when I start viewing a video, rather than having to pause manually? When I tried SqueezePlayer it closed down when another app took control. Eclectic24 track info is back ... they kicked it back into life about 15 minutes ago. Meanwhile I have been working on getting programme info for the KCRW shows ... and have just uploaded a first version with it. It is not quite right because the art switches between the programme specific image (if you have enabled it in the plugin settings) and the default station icon. I should be able to fix that. As for the images - I simply put in one of the URLs that is in the json data. I don't really like messing around with it because it could easily break things if they make backend changes. However, I'll take a look. I did a couple of other observations yesterday and today. The Station
art for main channel is shown fine on my SB Touch, RPi3 player and on
LMS web-interface. However station art for Eclectic24 channel doesn't
show on my RPi3. I suspect it might be because PNG-format ain't
supported on Max2Play's Jivelite player software. Would it be possible
to include it as a JPG instead (I assume it is part of the plugin) ?
Yesterday I also noticed the RPi3 was showing Album Art perfectly fine
in the beginning. But after I had done a number a software updates
including LMS792->LMS800 and updating various software on the RPi3
player I lost most Album Arts during the evening. It could be a
coincidence it happened after updating software, but I did some
investigations which implied it was dependent on filename of the
album-art files. It looks like cover-art files ending on something like
"._SL300_.jpg" or "._SL75_.jpg" doesn't show on the RPi3. Maybe the last
underscore before the (last) extension is the problem, maybe it is
because of the double extension (two times dot in the filename).
I can't believe your plugin is to blame for this (and cover-art still
shows nicely on LMS web UI and on SB Touch), and I suspect JiveLite
again (which was among the software getting an update). Once I have done
a bit more investigations on subject to confirm conclussion, I will
report problem to Max2Play or whoever is responsible for their version
of JiveLite.
However those ._SLxxx_.jpg files are served from Amazon, and I just
happen to know that if you remove the "._SLxxx_" part from the
filenames, you usually get a higher resolution version of the cover-art
file. And I'm guessing it will probably also work with my RPi3 player
then. Of course adding another hack like that also increases risk of
something breaks one day. But maybe worth considering?

With versions 3.x and now 4.01 of the Spotty app if I try to skip ahead in the track, the track simply starts over. There does not seem to be the capability to move around within tracks or fast forward. That's usually a sign of a slow response from LMS back to the Alexa cloud which can be caused both by slow hardware and poor internet speeds (upload). Do you have nested favorites or a flat hierarchy? If nested, maybe you would fare better with one level. The player names -bedsideradio -and -conservatoryradio -will cause grief in using this skill so I'd advise renaming them to bedroom and conservatory. A user has raised an issue on Material's github page re. virtual libraries. The user thinks this should 'reset' when navigating back out of 'My Music' What currently happens is: - Navigate into 'My Music' - Select a library using the button in the sub-toolbar - If you then navigate into 'Albums' under 'My Music' the list will be filtered using the chosen library - Navigate to Material's 'home' screen - Navigate into a pinned library item (e.g. you might have pinned 'Albums' to the home screen) - Now the list of items is also filtered using the previously selected library This is all because Material uses the library option in 'My Music' as a way of setting the library globally. But, (I guess) the real issue is that when you navigate 'Albums' pinned on the home screen there is no indication of what library is being used. As a solution to this, I propose the following: - Only use library chosen in 'My Music' to filter items when browsing under 'My Music' e.g. 'Home / My Music / Artists' would use the library, 'Home / Artists' would not - When pinning an item to the home screen, if a library is currently set then save this and amend the pinned name. e.g. Library='Test' then pin 'Artists' as 'Artists - Test' This will allow pinning multiple 'Artists' entries to the homescreen, each with its own library. Does this make sense? p.s. I know LMS traditionally sets the library per-player, but this has never sat well with me with reagards to a multi-player control point (i.e. Material). *Material debug:* 1. Just in case you wondered why it is not showing what is playing right now ... I think it is because they have a problem with the timestamps in their data. As I write this it is 07:23 in UK (06:23 UTC) and in California it 23:23 (PDT) ... but their timestamps are for a few hours earlier. so my code does not show the song because it would be way to long ... I'll check it a few times during the day to see when this goes back to normal and then again check tomorrow ... perhaps things go wrong when the requester is in a different day to their site.
