Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty fails to install in MacOS 10.6.8

2020-07-26 Thread Michael Herger

I have not been able to install Spotty on my old MacBook Pro running
MacOS 10.6.8.

That's too old for Spotty (and many other services). It comes with
ancient SSL libraries.

You could try to update the libraries following instructions found in
the following thread:

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109738-Error-Can-t-connect-to-remote-server-to-retrieve%85=925539=1#post925539

But I've never done this myself, and certainly not on a system old like
yours...

Can anyone give me a tip on clearing an invalid cached token?

There's a spotty folder inside LMS' cache folder. See
Settings/Information for its path.

Or you could have gone to the Spotty settings to remove the current
credentials.

I found the problem on my end. I loaded PcP and LMS on another rasbPi
and it worked. On my main system I found that Spotty was using a cached
authorization token that was no longer valid. I tweaked the API.pm to
force Spotty to retrieve a new token. Now it is working again. My
preference would have been to delete the cached token, but I didn't see
where it was located.

Can anyone give me a tip on clearing an invalid cached token?

If I navigate to Spotty I get more errors and I am not able to pull up
any playlists.

I have deleted and re-entered my credentials in Spotty both by manually
entering user name & password and using Spotify Connect through the app
on my phone and PC to reauthorize Spotty. Both methods work to
reestablish my credentials, but I still get errors and cannot navigate
in Spotty.

Spotify Connect sees my Spotty connect players and claims to be playing
a song on them, but my players do not turn on and retain their previous
playlist. If I play from a local playlist saved on LMS that contain a
Spotify song it plays correctly.

I have also changed my Spotify password and reauthorized Spotty. The
errors remain.

Any ideas? Is anyone else experiencing similar errors? Possibly
Spotify changed their API calls?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2020-07-26 Thread coffee_addict

Please let me know if this is the wrong thread to post this.

Occasionally I find *certain spotify tracks will only play for about 2
seconds* in lms with spotty while the *same track plays fine in
spotify's web player
*.

In this case, the song is in playlist where it plays for about 2 seconds
then playlist is advanced to next song.

This has been going on for a while with lms 7.9 versions.

I just now updated to lms 8.0.0 to see if I have same issue (which
automatically updated spotty to v4.20 apparently) - I have same issue.

LMS is running on raspbian 5.4.51-v7l+ (as reported by uname -a).

Attached squeezeboxserver/server.log excerpt with spotty plugin debug
logging info for the track.

It's not a proper fix - it's a change that makes things better to a
variable degree, which seems to depend on the weather, network
connectivity and the mood spotify and LMS are in. Some days, I'll run
for hours without issues, others not so much.

As slartibartfast says, we need to wait for Michael to return (and have
the spare time, and the enthusiasm to fix ...).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP/Sugarcube Questions

2020-07-26 Thread Wirrunna

You should run the analysis at one location and archive the analysis,
then sync.
One issue is that your time sequence of adding music will be
compromised, i.e. New Music will be useless. If you tick the options,
general - preserve fie modification time when updating files then your
music will be analysed and archived but if sync is based on time stamp
it won't be synced. The way around this is to batch analyse and use
BulkFileChanger on Windows to add 5 seconds to the modified time.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2020-07-26 Thread Michael Herger

The way things stand at the moment the MAI plugin ignores text in
brackets. This works OK for things like remasters but a side effect is
that albums such as " (What's the Story) Morning Glory?" do not show an
album review.
I wonder if it would be possible to first check for album matches with
brackets and only if that fails to then ignore them.

Some of these lookups are pretty "expensive", and multiple attempts
already are done. But those strings probably shouldn't be removed if
they're at the beginning of a name.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP/Sugarcube Questions

2020-07-26 Thread staresy

Hi,
I am just starting to play with this and have a few basic questions
before I set it loose on my music collection.

- Do most people set it so that the analysis fingerprint is embedded
into the music file tags or do you use a separate dB file?
- If separate dB file, where does this reside?

I run LMS at two locations, sync'd via google drive, so I'd ideally just
like to run the analysis at one location and allow google to auto sync
the second. If I embed to the file tags I can see the advantages but it
will mean all my files would need re-syncing (>200GB over a 10mbps
upload connection, ie a few days to run). Alternatively can I have a
separate dB file and place it somewhere so that google auto syncs that?

Hope that makes sense, any pointers would be useful before I fully
embark on this.

Rgds

I assume you are a relative newbie then.

Other things you may not have come across as yet.
1) Material skin plugin. Brings the LMS interface bang up to date.
2) Music & Artist Information plug-in. Provides lyrics, artist bios and
album reviews. Particularly good in conjunction with Material
3) LastMix plugin. This works in conjunction with the built in Don’t
Stop The Music function. No account required but will intelligently auto
add tracks to your playlist from both your local library and optionally
from any online music service you subscribe to by interrogating LastFM’s
database.
4) Radio Paradise (if you like rock). Human curated FLAC streamed radio
with no Ads.
5) BBC iPlayer plugin

Hi, Sorry!
I thought this thread merged into the 8.0 thread, my apologies!
I will happily move threads, - will someone tell me how to do it
please?

"Do you have any players?"

To be honest I don't know, I haven't installed any.
I used LMS about 2 years ago by just installing it from the package
center and used it witha PS audio streamer, - and controlled it via
squeezer app on my phone.
I assumed that the player was installed with LMS. Can I install a
software player on my synology that would work?

Any ways, the install seemed to go ok, and i connected to my music
library ok, but it does not seem to be able to find a player.
Do I need a separate install of squeezelite now on the synology, and if
so how do i do this? - Or do I need to do something else?
I class myself as a beginner with this and would appreciate your help if
possable please.

Kind regards
Roy.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP and Spicefly's SugarCube stopped working on latest LMS

2020-07-26 Thread HB64

I have done some further research and the 5.10 plugin does not work, I
already knew that, tracks are selected but nothing is played, the errors
relate to lines 538 and 539 of the "Breakout.pm" file of the plugin

Code:

4.90 works for me although there are a lot of warnings that go to line
278 of the "Breakout.pm" file of which I leave 1 line otherwise it is
too much to post.

And then the strange part if I put the "Breakout.pm" file of the 5.10
plugin in the folder of the 4.90 plugin and then restart everything all
works fine.

I would like to understand and fix this issue, whatever it is. I assume
you are saying that SLX often freezes on startup, but sometimes it will
start up. Looking at you Task Manager picture, it appears to have
occurred before squeezelite gets loaded. My suspicion is that this is
related to a particular audio device attached to your system that is
causing the portaudio library (used by squeezelite and SLX) to hang when
enumerating audio output devices. (That is my suspicion, anyway.) What
kind of audio-related devices do you have attached?

Yes, you are correct for free apps, you do not have to be signed in to a
windows account.

~20k) "setmusicstyle" seems fine to me. My main use case is just to
provide random, but related, tracks whilst I work. So, for me, this DSTM
mixer appears to be doing its job. And the analysis is massively faster
than MusicIP - plus being opensource is a huge plus for me.
