Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2020-07-27 Thread Stan Pulsar

Hi there,

thanks again for this most useful app.

Small (hopefully !) request :
any chance you could provide us with a variable for the current track
-ID- , to be used in tray menu links? (ie the 'id' column from the
'tracks' table in library.db)

I'm building myself a small search/organise/tag app that I'd like to be
able to launch while listening to music. I have an URL to do this, but
this obviously won't be reliable passing the track title.

Hope this is feasible without too much work.

2020-07-27 Thread Stan Pulsar

Hi there,

I noticed a small glitch in the display of the trackstat rating, in "Now
playing" view.

This seems only to occur when displaying -mobile- layout. I saw it on my
phone, both trying though the android app and material in browser.
I didn't see the issue on my computer (browser or squeezelite-x app).

While listening to a newly imported album, I saw that when the next
track came up, the rating was still showing the value of the previous
track (see pic 1).
I was rating tracks while listening, so none of the remaining tracks of
the album had ratings yet. So I also think it only happens when upcoming
track is not rated.
31143

Switching to Playlist then back to Now playing refreshes the rating (see
pic 2)
31144

Oh, I was wondering: is this issue limited to Connect mode?

Android failing is an issue that has been addressed in librespot just a
few days ago. I guess it would help with the Windows version, too. But
I'll have to build new helper binaries.

Don't use ratings, but I -think- this should now be fixed for 1.8.6 I
store 2 values for the rating; its value in the status message, and the
value shown. To check if its changed I need to check both, before I was
not. So if first track's rating was undefined, give it a rating, move
onto second track - Material thinks no change, as both had no rating
(but the 1st was updated, so display now invalid).

If you want you can confirm using the git version - or wait until I
release 1.8.6

2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools

I have tried this using Firefox set to "no proxy" and I still get the

Firefox has nothing to do with LMS so not sure why try setting "no
proxy".

Are you able to use wireshark ?

Hi Michael,

Welcome back - glad you had a good break!

All of my digging was focused on SpotifyConnect - it turned out you
could see similar stuff in LMS Spotty by tweaking the bit rate in the
GUI. I've extracted the key bits I put together and the original links:

- I tested SpotifyConnect with the java-librespot client and a windows
version of librespot. A lot of the short track problems went away,
suggesting at least part of the problem is in LMS space.

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111923-Announce-Spotty-4-0-integrate-local-library-with-your-Spotify-collection-(LMS-8-)&p=982323&viewfull=1#post982323

- In the following post, I tested spotty from the command line, and was
able to play all of pink flag without trouble.

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111923-Announce-Spotty-4-0-integrate-local-library-with-your-Spotify-collection-(LMS-8-)&p=982325&viewfull=1#post982325

- Changing the bitratre in Daemon.pm - a hack that makes a lot of short
tracks work in spotify connect mode. This makes no sense at all but
sort-of-works.

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111923-Announce-Spotty-4-0-integrate-local-library-with-your-Spotify-collection-(LMS-8-)&p=982334&viewfull=1#post982334

- From slartibartfasts suggestion a very short track problem that
appears in both spotty and the librespot windows client. This throws the
"Channel Error 2 0" referenced in
https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot/issues/510 (so at least a
related symptom to the above).

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111923-Announce-Spotty-4-0-integrate-local-library-with-your-Spotify-collection-(LMS-8-)&p=982339&viewfull=1#post982339

Finally, thanks to digging into virtualisation stuff along the way, I
think I can now offer windows, linux and macos test platforms - if
needed and helpful, I can also probably run development platforms on
windows and linux.

PasTim wrote:

Ok, poor explanation on my part - If I use Firefox with no proxy to
access LMS (@ 192.168.1.11:9000) then clicking on BBCIplayerExtras still
gives me a 404 error when clicking on the station image (ie the same
result as using Vivaldi which goes via Privoxy). Clicking on Genres,
Podcasts, A-Z works ok in both browsers.

If if take the url which causes the 404 error from the LMS log and paste
it into my browser it works (Vivaldi and Firefox no proxy), ie
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_three.xml#extra
loads the xml page.

I assume therefore the basic connectivity is working but something,
perhaps locally is causing the problem. Will Wireshark allow to me to
see what url is being requested when I click on the station image?

I'm tryign to jusdge yoriu etchbnical ability.

Wireshark record all the bits on the network links and the user then has
to got up through the level (IP, TCP, HTTP) before you see what is on
the wire.
My guess is this is too technical/too hard to instruct remotely.

Is privoxy still running on the system ? or it been stopped in its
entirety.

I agree it's probably a local issue and Privoxy looked a good candidate.

After some head scratching, and with help from you, I have solved the
problem - Avast virus protection gets in the way of web searches. When
turned off the iPlayer station access is instantaneous. I think I can
leave it switched on and add exceptions to the Avast preferences. Is
there a generic web address (https? http?) or addresses that I should
specify?

Hope this helps other suffering too.

You've put the plugin in the wrong place, I believe that on PiCore you
have to create a folder called "Plugin in the
"/usr/local/slimserver/Cache" or "/mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/slimserver/Cache"
folder, then restart LMS trough the Picorewebpage and it gets installed
and survives a restart.
For your convenience, I also place the latest version as an attachment,
unzip it and copy it to where it belongs.

It is running. I increased the logging Privoxy does and the fragment at

Radio 3 button and the 404 response. Not sure if it is illuminating.

There is no way currently. However, Material allows you to add custom
entries to the main menu, and to a player's menu (see the 'Custom menu
entries' section of
https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/wiki/Detailed-Information).
What I can do is expand this to allow a custom entry to the context-menu
of the now-playing cover. (Currently this menu has 'Show image', 'Show
track information', 'Go to artist', etc). So, when I've implemented the
changes, you would need to crate a file named
-material-skin/actions.json- within your LMS's prefs folder. This would
need something like:

Code:

  {
  "track":[
  {
  "title":"Album details",
  "weblink":"http://mycloudplayer.herokuapp.com/album#$ALBUMID";
  }
  ]
  }

This would add an 'Album details' entry in the relevant menu that when
clicked would take you to
http://mycloudplayer.herokuapp.com/album#$ALBUMID - with $ALBUMID
replaced by the track's album id.

Make sense? If so, I'll see about adding this for 1.8.6

Uninstall the current version. Use 'git' to checkout the Material repo,
and copy the 'MaterialSkin' folder into a top-level 'Plugins' folder in
your LMS folder. (Might need to create 'Plugins' folder). This way would
be approved by Michael, and will not be updated when releases are made.
You can, hover, overwrite the version in Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins,
and this will get updated - but Michael would not approve :)

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools
4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here.

You may have asked this before, so thank you for your persistence. At
the time, I attempted to do this, but I could not figure out how to get
the current track Id from the LMS using CLI and I gave up (temporarily).
I just gave it another look and I figured it out. I can get the
current track path with "path ?" and then using that to get the id from
the songinfo command "songinfo 0 1 url:". I would return a value
only if the track is not remote. If the current track is a remote
stream, %ID% would return an empty string.

How does that sound?

You need at least 1 player somewhere in your network, on a PC, official
Logitech hardware, or a Raspberry with squeezelite. There is no option
to add a client like squeezelite to your nas AFAIK.

Do you still use the PS audio streamer?

The tcpudmp was helpful.

The entry below says a http GET of
"/radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_three.xml#extra" was done off address
212.58.233.253

Code:

16:05:46.433801 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 62930, offset 0, flags [DF], proto
TCP (6), length 406)

length 354: HTTP, length: 354
GET /radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_three.xml#extra HTTP/1.0

The GET is done on the URL defined in default.opml which is
"http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_three.xml#extra";
The nslookup for "www.bbc.co.uk" for me was

Code:

  ww.bbc.co.uk canonical name = www.bbc.net.uk.
  www.bbc.net.uk canonical name =
www.bbc.co.uk.europe-west-1.live-live.gtm-edge.e9fb45cfcc47b85b.xhst.bbci.co.uk.

www.bbc.co.uk.europe-west-1.live-live.gtm-edge.e9fb45cfcc47b85b.xhst.bbci.co.uk

gtmlivelive-eu-w-1nlbwwwcouk-7c6a1f5915ac19ed.elb.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com
  Address: 52.19.49.142

None of the addresses matched 212.58.233.253

When I do a "wget" on "http:
//212.58.233.253/radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_three.xml#extra"  - I
get the same error as you see.

So somehow the wrong IP address is being used although the error message
does refer to BBC-GTM so there is some connection - it is a BBC site of
some sort..

As an experiment - can you edit the BBCiPlayer plugin default.opml and
replace all the

Code:

  http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability

by

Code:

  https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability

This changes the http to https but ONLY for the program listing. https
processing tends to not allow "substitution" so I want to see if this
fixes the problem.

If not then it may be a DNS issue. CAn you do a "nslookup
www.bbc.co.uk" to see what IP addresses are returned.

Sorry I did not respond to this earlier. When I saw this before I sorta
assigned it mentally as a Material Skin thing. I still think that might
be the case. Squeezelite-X is basically providing an embedded web
browser and player in a single tailored app. But the Default Skin and
Material Skin are not part of Squeezelite-X. So these appear to be
things that would be provided by the skin, right?

I just uploaded Version 2.6.30

Changes:

- Added %ID% variable for menu links, which will provide the track
database ID for the currently playing track tracks that are in the
database. Returns an empty string if current track is a remote
  stream.
- Added %PATH% variable for menu links, which will return the path to
  the currently playing track.
- Updated to latest version of Embedded Chromium library

I don't know DNS details but outputs are different.

You dig has no lookup CNAME details so I'm guessing there is something
for "bbc" in a config file.

I'm guessing privoxy is set up to handle DNS and so is returning the BBC
ip address which may be valid for many request but not all. Other
possibility is your ISP/DNS server is messing with DNS request. The
"https" gets around this substitution.

And I remember you answering that, now. Sorry about my persistence, it
genuinely was out of oblivion.
Grateful you had another look.
That sounds perfect to me, I'd only use this on tracks from the local
library.

I was about to say "even the path would do", as I could also uniquely
identify tracks with it on my side, but it would be more picky to pass
through an URL parameter, so if you can take the extra step of getting
the ID, I'd rather have that.

Thanks in advance !
