Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty 4.4.6 - out of disk space error - please help!
This only happens with Spotty and only because of for those .tmp* files being created on the fly (some sort of encoding?). I can use ShairTunes2 and tunein and other radios no problem, these work very well for prolonged period of time together with Upnp/dlna bridge plugin (I have a high fi dlna player I want to use) I believe is fine as far as you stream data, but if some sort of encoding happens (i.e. some bigger files being created) then since by default /tmp is mapped on /dev/ram0 is filled up. Mind you ram is only 10MB on this thing!!! After defining the /tmp disk separately ram is not filled up anymore and things work Having said that, even so. spotty only works with 96k (320kb long buffering time and skips a lot) and flow of data breaks sometimes, maybe really hitting the limit of the hardware. So I'm really using spotify oven airplay (shairtunes2) shamrock73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113685 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
Hello, another slightly random one (apologies!) but I just wondered if anyone knew how/why there might be podcasts that are available in iPlayer Extras but aren't in Sounds? I know of one for certain, there might be more or it might be the only one, not sure! I like to listen to the Adam and Joe 6Music podcasts via the Squeezebox when I'm doing the washing up etc. - I've probably heard them all but there are loads on there and I'm happy to listen again. I found them via iPlayer Extras -> BBC Podcasts (right at the bottom) -> Podcast by Genre -> Comedy -> Adam and Joe. I can't find them in Sounds, either on the app or the website when using a browser. They are available on the BBC website - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02l57gq/episodes/downloads - and there is a link which says "subscribe in sounds" but it goes nowhere. This is one of the main reasons I'm keeping iPlayer in the radio menu, as I can't seem to get at them via Sounds. What I probably should do is manually download them all from the BBC site and just listen to them via my local library, will take a while but once it is done I guess I'll always have them! But it piqued my interest and I just wondered if anyone knew why I'm seeing this behaviour? Perhaps only active podcasts are in Sounds? Maybe it is one for the BBC, I guess I could try and ask them... slurmsmckenzie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8
I was reading through the thread to find what improvements or issues are resolved by installing the community firmware update. It was not until post#130 that I found a link to a list: https://ralph_irving.gitlab.io/lms-community-firmware/changelog.html I recommend the first post be edited to include this link, or if I missed it, please make it more obvious. I am a basic user and I tend to believe in if it isnt broke, dont try and fix it. I admit I struggle with that because with technology things become outdated quickly, like internet security. However, I have been subject to installing updates (not squeezebox related) that ending up breaking functions instead of fixing or improving function which is really frustrating. My worst fear would be bricking the unit with a failed firmware update. The biggest issue I have right now with several of my SB radios is it drops the Wifi connection. This is being caused by a new neighbors Wifi extender causing some type of interference. (The problem disappears if I move the SB Radio to my office.) The only way to get the Radio to connect to wifi again is to reboot, as trying to connect to a second wifi access point will not work until after a reboot. I see some references to Wifi and wireless modules in the new firmware. Any chance the firmware update might fix the wifi problem? Thank you to everyone that has been working very hard to keep this great product functioning! Hello! Today I have a question regarding the Material App. I am using a Amazon Fire HD 8 for Material App which is working great. I have switched on that the app should be shown over the lockscreen and that the display should be on when in Usage. Now I added an external automation where I switch on the power adapter when the Fire HD is under 30% and switch it off when it is at 90%. The problem is now that at switching on and also at switching off the power adapter the display is also switched on and it stays switched on. All went swimmingly from my piCorePlayer LMS environment onto two SB Radios. No problems.
