Sorry, I have no idea about that. It is where ever Max2Play stores them.
What could I do about it if I knew the answer?

See Settings/Information to see where it is. m2p wouldn't wipe caches

Just an observation:

The stream is https. So LMS is fetching the stream, and effectively
proxying it. (Assuming AAC native is set).

Not that that should make any difference.

Hi,
I updated my SB radios, controller and touch to Version 8.0.1 r16835 and
settled down to my weekly Island Vibration stream:

http://streamlojik.com/playlist/?ch=outreachradio&cd=Island%20Vibrations%20Midweek%20Musical%20M%C3%A9lange&dd=wednesday&hh=20&ll=2

It's an M3U catch-up playlist, consisting of AAC streams. Last week I
tuned in on Version 8.0.1 r16824 and it played fine, this week on the
new firmware it hops and skips like a badly scratched vinyl. I'm all for
authenticity, but... :)

Anyway, I reverted to 7.8.0 r16739 (by disabling the update plugin), and
all is back to full working order.

So, I think a buglet must have slipped in the latest version whilst
working under the bonnet with the AAC decode engine.

If it helps diagnose, SB touch skips every 10-20 seconds, SB radio
approx every minute.

Could you guys take a look when you get a moment?

Thanks for your work on this, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The play url is when you use the webplayer in your browser. I think most
of the app is just a wrapper around that same interface.
Since I mostly play music through LMS on PcP, I hardly ever use the
Qobuz app. ButI do go the webplayer to explore and buy new music
sometimes.

FYI, this is now implemented in the 2.3 branch. You select tracks in the
queue, and navigate to playlists (or into a playlist) and choose 'Copy
queue selection here'. Converserly you can select its in the browse view
and use context menu in queue to 'Copy browse selection here'

Ah, thanks! It's the plus sign that brings up the "add URL" option, and
that works. Another useful new thing discovered.

It indeed works with "open.qobuz.com" url's and not with
"play.qobuz.com" urls. Slightly odd Qobuz thing though that the address
that starts with "open" does not seem to require a login as long as you
have the full URL. (sample: https://open.qobuz.com/album/3760127222682 )

The "end of file" error is typical of a problem in transcoding and since
only sox in trasncoding - I think your version of sox doesn't run on
your system Maybe missing libraries, maybe wrong architecture (e.g.
armhf instead of armle).

Your sox reside at */volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Bin/sox* - you
could try to run it form a shell prompt.

If it doesn't run, you could probably replace it with a good version
from older LMS since sox hasn't changed much. If a "bad" sox was
packaged with LMS 8.0.0 , it may be a good reason to try 8.1.* as a good
version may now be packaged.

Yes, the album number is the same. And it works when you attach the
number to this URL:
"http://yourpcpwithlms.local:9000/status.html?p0=qobuz&p1=playalbum&p2=";
It's just a bit cumbersome to do this manually every time..

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but how does this currently work
for the open.qobuz.com URLs? You paste them in the search box?

Would be awesome if this could somehow work. Especially since the other
streaming options in the Qobuz app aren't that great (UPNP or Airplay).
But it's one of those "so close, but yet so far" things. I even tried

Thank you for looking into this.
I guess Startibartfast is correct that turning off software updates in
server settings has no effect on firmware updates. It might make it less
confusing if the player notification said firmware rather than software
updates are ready to download/install

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with Sox LMS 8.0.0

2021-02-13 Thread bpa

I'd advise get a log of trying to play a Flac track with player.source
set to INFO.

This will show whether the custom convert is working correctly and if
not how LMS is trying to invoke sox.

Usually there is a tab before the "[sox]" in the conf file but not sure
if it is significant or whether it is just not being shown by forum

No problem, Chris. Thanks for your help. I have one more small change
I'd like to get in if you think it would be useful. It would sync the
client volume to the AVR each time the player is paused, regardless of
whether the volume synching option is selected. This would allow the
user to sync the volume manually without incurring the added network
overhead of synching at each track change, and would be useful to people
like me who sometimes use the AVR remote for volume changes. It's a
simple change and I could get it to you later today. What do you think?

How to add to Qobuz favourites.
Search for whatever in Qobuz via LMS
Add at least one track to your playlist
Go to track in playlist
Select More, then On Qobuz, then Manage Favourites

I suspect you're right on the soundcards - occasionally my USB one stops
working and I have to pull/reinsert it. SLX has not had an issue with it
before though. No errors show up on other apps that were using it - it
just goes silent.
Eventually I managed to get SLX working so I did a reset/restart and
everything is working fine again.
Anything I should do for next time?
The only other weird thing to note is that I have two Defaults under the
Player Output Device list.

Any chance of using variables in the captions on the app menu?

Instead of "Google Artist", it would be "Google %Artist%" which would
show as "Google Bob Dylan" or whatever. Right now it shows as the
literal string, Google %Artist%

Not a big deal, just throwing it out there.

Thanks,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with Sox LMS 8.0.0

2021-02-13 Thread lucifer-chops

Until recently I have been running an old version of LMS (7.7 I think)
on a Synology NAS, streaming lossless from Tidal and also from a local
music folder.
I had an issue with some Tidal hi res files causing stuttering which I
was able to resolve thanks to someone on here suggesting switching to
Sox transcoding via a custom-convert.conf.

All was working fine until recently when Tidal stopped working, with a
message saying Tidal authentication was no longer supported with
versions of LMS below 8.0.
I bit the bullet and upgraded the NAS to LMS 8.0.0 and that fixed the
Tidal authentication problem.

However, the stuttering issue has returned on some hi res Tidal files.
Sure enough, the new installation of LMS had wiped out my
custom-convert.conf file.
So I recreated it, exactly as before:

flc flc * *
[sox] -q -t flac $FILE$ -t flac -

But this time, no joy. As soon as I re-start LMS with the
custom-convert.conf in place, streaming no longer works, either via
Tidal or local music folder.
I'm able to navigate to the selected song but as soon as I hit play
nothing happens. If I do it via the ipeng interface I see a message
'File not available'.
As soon as I remove the custom-convert.conf everything starts working
again.

I wondered if sox was not packaged with LMS 8.0.0 but I see there is a
sox file in the Bin folder.
I had a look at the server log and I can see some entries
'client_readable (413) Client not found for slimproto msg op' that seem
to correspond with attempts to play songs, that stop appearing when I
remove the custom-convert.conf.

Any help or suggestions most appreciated.

thanks

Luke

Haven't used this in a while, but yes, that's the idea. BUT it's
currently covering https://open.qoubz.com... URLs, rather than
play.qobuz.com. It's the kind of URL you'd get from the share menu. But
the above looks almost the same. Maybe I can cover these in the future, too.

You can also use the new Material functionality to pin it directly to
the homescreen. (1/ advanced search -> choose genre -> Save search as
Library view. 2/ select the library view in my music and do 'pin to
homescreen' for albums, artists or whatever you want. 3/ choose "Store
current library with pinned item".)

Michael I have sent you the log file, I did this by copying the "Debug
Info" from the Max2Play interface. I hope this is what you want.
Actually this morning my whole Max2Play/Pi set up was frozen/crashed, so
I had to do a hard reset. Then just now after sending you the first log
file I tried Spotty, expecting it to be working after the restart, but
got my normal morning error message, so I restarted SB server and it is
now working ok. The log file has a few more entries on so sending you a
