Well, so much for that theory. I just did a test with Squeezer and it also sends dial-based volume changes in a series of 1-unit increments which are cached in the plugin until there is a 1/4-second break which, to me, results in a fairly smooth feeling, if not analog, process. The caching interval actually used to be 1/8 second, which I increased in order to cut down on the number of discrete commands sent to the AVR. Like most such things, it's a tradeoff. In this case, a smaller caching interval could theoretically result in a more analog feel to the volume change due to an increased number of smaller discrete changes requested. However, at some point, that very increase in requests would overload the AVR, causing timeouts and even larger volume jumps than would otherwise occur. I feel that the 1/4 second value is a good compromise in most situations. However, I suppose it could also be another candidate for a user menu option. Using the Android APK on my phone, I have noticed something in the Now Playing time layout. I have increased the zoom level slightly, and the three items in the time layout no longer line up in a row; np-duration appears to be a bit lower than the progress slider. Looking at the now-playing.js code, I see that the time layout is composed of three pieces: np-pos, the progress slider, and np-duration. I see that for np-pos, reference is made to np-pos-center, but this is not done later for np-duration. Is this the cause? I am not versed in CSS well enough to figure out how to play with this. *Living Room:* SB Touch + DIY PSU > CI Audio VDA.2 DAC + VAC.1 PSU > VRX.1 cables > Emotiva XSP-1 Gen 2 preamp + XPA-DR2 amp > Blue Jeans cables > B 804 speakers *Laptop:* System76 Galago + Ubuntu 16.04 + Squeezelite + Vivaldi/Material Skin > Emotiva Little Ego DAC > Grado PS500 headphones *Bedroom:* RPi Zero W + Squeezelite > miniBOSS DAC HAT > Bose SoundLink Revolve *Phone:* Pixel 3a + SB Player + Material APK > Senn IE80 earbuds *Server:* Puget Systems Serenity + Ubuntu 18.04 + LMS 8.2 Ron F.'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin
I have just subscribed to a Qobuz trial and am experiencing a problem with accessing Qobuz high res streams through LMS. I use a Cyrus streamer and if I access quobuz through the Cyrus interface (and app) those albums designated as hi res seem to play at the expected high bit rates and show as 96khz. However I prefer to play my music streams using LMS with the Cyrus streamer just acting as a player because the Cyrus cadence app is a bit flaky and keeps crashing. Using the qobuz plugin on LMS however the same albums only seem to play at 44.1khz. I have checked my account settings on the Qobuz website which definitely show my streams should be hi res (when available). Can anyone suggest what might be happening here? I know from this thread that some albums shown as hi res on qobuz will only stream in CD quality unless the album is actually purchased but I don't think that can be the issue here as the same music plays at hi res using the Cyrus interface. steve miller's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68950 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97146 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It appears that the Squeezer app is more conservative in sending "analog" volume changes to LMS. It probably does some caching of its own in the UI as the dial is rotated, whereas Squeeze Ctrl seems to send every volume change in individual increments of 1, which causes the jerky behavior as the plugin waits for a .25-second break in the requests before adjusting the AVR volume to the last requested level. I'm installing this on a Raspberry Pi4 4Gb buster installation. Followed the instructions in the first post and everything went well until I tried to start MusicMagicServer: pi@max2play:~ $ /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start -bash: /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error I saw the other post on this issue (but it is on a different installation) and followed the suggestions but nothing changed the above outcome. Did install MusicIP with a direct download and extracting within Linux. I'm fresh at Linux so I run out of options here. Anybody a suggestion what could be the cause of this error? mvn2009's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33172 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

@cpd73 I made a silly mistake setting ratings for all tracks on the wrong Album, went back in to set back to zero only to discover that this doesn't appear to be possible, at least for me. It can only be set back to a half star at minimum - obviously I'm using the 1-10 method of rating so can set half stars.
