No worries, I only asked you to check this way as I thought I saw
similar - but checked via screenshot and all was OK.

Well, so much for that theory. I just did a test with Squeezer and it
also sends dial-based volume changes in a series of 1-unit increments
which are cached in the plugin until there is a 1/4-second break which,
to me, results in a fairly smooth feeling, if not analog, process. The
caching interval actually used to be 1/8 second, which I increased in
order to cut down on the number of discrete commands sent to the AVR.
Like most such things, it's a tradeoff. In this case, a smaller caching
interval could theoretically result in a more analog feel to the volume
change due to an increased number of smaller discrete changes requested.
However, at some point, that very increase in requests would overload
the AVR, causing timeouts and even larger volume jumps than would
otherwise occur. I feel that the 1/4 second value is a good compromise
in most situations. However, I suppose it could also be another
candidate for a user menu option.

I'll need a screenshot, as I cannot see this. Are you sure its not just
your eyes playing tricks? Still, if you screenshot you can check
alignment using a piant app, etc.

'np-pos-center' is only used if duration is not know - e.g. for streams
- and is when position is shown in the centre, not on the left.

Thanks d6jg you have helped me solve the problem which turned out to be
the settings in the UpnpBridge. It turns out that the bit rate can be
changed in the bridge settings. I have set it to the maximum option and
all is now working as expected!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2021-03-11 Thread Ron F.

Using the Android APK on my phone, I have noticed something in the Now
Playing time layout. I have increased the zoom level slightly, and the
three items in the time layout no longer line up in a row; np-duration
appears to be a bit lower than the progress slider.

Looking at the now-playing.js code, I see that the time layout is
composed of three pieces:
np-pos, the progress slider, and np-duration. I see that for np-pos,
reference is made to np-pos-center, but this is not done later for
np-duration. Is this the cause?

I am not versed in CSS well enough to figure out how to play with this.

I see this is an old post- but can't seem to find updated info -> but
using PlayHLS V2. Is this designed to support steams with a back
buffer? I have a live stream with a buffer, on squeezelite-x can't
seem to move within the stream, just resets to live. Would be nice to
go back an hour and skip commercials

Yes I have checked the setting on the plugin which is definitely set to

Every now and then I also experience incomplete songs that skip to the
next one, though it's been very, very rare lately, but then I have also
experienced it before when I was trying out Volumio, and even with the
Qobuz windows app a couple of times, so I would guess that it's a Qobuz
issue.

2021-03-11 Thread steve miller

I have just subscribed to a Qobuz trial and am experiencing a problem
with accessing Qobuz high res streams through LMS.
I use a Cyrus streamer and if I access quobuz through the Cyrus
interface (and app) those albums designated as hi res seem to play at
the expected high bit rates and show as 96khz. However I prefer to play
my music streams using LMS with the Cyrus streamer just acting as a
player because the Cyrus cadence app is a bit flaky and keeps crashing.
Using the qobuz plugin on LMS however the same albums only seem to play
at 44.1khz. I have checked my account settings on the Qobuz website
which definitely show my streams should be hi res (when available).
Can anyone suggest what might be happening here? I know from this thread
that some albums shown as hi res on qobuz will only stream in CD quality
unless the album is actually purchased but I don't think that can be the
issue here as the same music plays at hi res using the Cyrus interface.

It appears that the Squeezer app is more conservative in sending
"analog" volume changes to LMS. It probably does some caching of its own
in the UI as the dial is rotated, whereas Squeeze Ctrl seems to send
every volume change in individual increments of 1, which causes the
jerky behavior as the plugin waits for a .25-second break in the
requests before adjusting the AVR volume to the last requested level.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi

2021-03-11 Thread mvn2009

I'm installing this on a Raspberry Pi4 4Gb buster installation. Followed
the instructions in the first post and everything went well until I
tried to start MusicMagicServer:

pi@max2play:~ $ /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start
-bash: /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer: cannot execute
binary file: Exec format error

I saw the other post on this issue (but it is on a different
installation) and followed the suggestions but nothing changed the above
outcome. Did install MusicIP with a direct download and extracting
within Linux.
I'm fresh at Linux so I run out of options here. Anybody a suggestion
what could be the cause of this error?

I have had this issue for a while on Squeezelite-X. Had it on my last
work laptop and my new replacement laptop. Installs have been via
Windows store (only way I can install stuff as company laptop) on both
machines. The pauses are always near the end of songs. The Sq-x log just
shows something like this:

[16:46:30.003] process:527 strm
[16:46:30.003] process_strm:280 strm command p
[16:46:30.003] sendSTAT:195 STAT: STMp
[16:46:30.003] process_strm:316 pause interval: 0
[16:46:30.152] process:527 strm
[16:46:30.152] process_strm:280 strm command t
[16:46:30.152] sendSTAT:195 STAT: STMt
[16:46:30.453] process:527 strm

The LMS log shows The fullness drop to 0%, then has a
playerOutputUnderrun (2239), and rebuffers, and has basically has no
output for about 15s (unless you move the track position slider) I have
attached a snippet of the log where the overrun occurs through till it
resumes (I have chopped some of the lines out where it is buffering to
reduce file size enough to attach).

On reading about this, and seeing a suggestion to increase the buffer
size in Squeezelite-X, added "-b 1:10" to the parameters - this
has reduced it a little, but not fully, but the interface seems to have
started freezing / crashing now when do simple things like just going
back in music selection area (this isn't all the time and music doesn't
even need to be playing).

Just to note, I have no pausing issues on my PiCoreplayer streamer.

Lastly, this is my first post here, so just want to say hi and thanks
for awesome software.

Thanks

Existing icon looked a little small to me, as in I think the borders
were too large. Slightly tweaked version below:
