I was able to back up the folder by logging into my DS918+ via SSH and
copying it to /tmp before uninstalling LMS. You can find help on
enabling SSH by searching on 'ssh' from DSM Help when logged into the
admin interface GUI.

I'll also add my thanks to the folks on this forum for rescuing LMS for
me. I updated nine packages this morning, including Perl, without
thinking about the affect on LMS. Now I see that there is a note about
Perl 5.28 breaking LMS in the 'Update' notice. It sure does!

I am no expert in these kinds of things. But the rule is for streaming

How do you like TVHeadEnd? I use Kodi with HDHOMERUN. The 3rd party
Kodi add on is like 1000X better than the native app because everything
works unlike their own app.

I added the pipe to [SOX] in file
/mnt/data/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/custom-convert.conf.
I'm not sure if the input & output format to SOX should be flc or pcm
or something else. I tried a few different configurations (really just
guesses) and nothing plays.

Code:

  spt pcm * *
# RT:{START=--start-position %s}

--disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox] -q -t flc - -t flc

BBCiPlayer plugin is out of date and is in sunset mode. BBC Sounds now
matches the BBC way of doing things and uses a proper API.

The BBciPlayer live stream may still work but there is no real need to
play HLS or MP3 streams as BBC Sounds has proper metadata and ffwd/rew
within a live program.

My knowlage (really Inet searches) on the subject is minimal. I relayed
what was described to me. Regarding RPis audio processing, there's no
DAC on the board itself. Analog audio is generated through PWM method.
What I descibed applies more fully to RPi add-on DAC boards.

I've verified first that the track works and it does. So what seems to
happen is the transcoding (using sox) from opus to flac fails. There can
be many reasons, including a problem with that sox build, I don't know
but the LMS version you are using is very outdated. As said, 8.0.0 is
old and we have been working a lot on transcoding and live streaming
around the time we moved to 8.x and we faced various issues so I
strongly you move to 8.1.2 nightly which I can confidently say is now
stable with regard to these issues.

Thanks. I saw a number of EQ posts. All were very helpful in getting

Yes, I know - that's why I still stay with my old Kodi 18.9 - I tried
Kodi 19 on my PC and so far it's still fine - all my Add-ons (mainly
TVHeadEnd client) are working. Nevertheless, with the OSMC update I'll
wait until I switch to an RPi4 :-D

Well 18.9 is an older version and it still supports the older python.
They dropped py2 when they updated to 19 and it broke addons that relied
on py2. Check the Kodi forums -there was a big stink about it even
though it was really Google's fault, not Kodi's.

I have Squeeze Player, and it's working fine here. Also there have been
no impactful changes in the streaming area of the plugin for a while.
Squeeze player doesn't support AAC natively, so your server will be
transcoding it. What are you transcoding settings, is it to flac?
Have you made any changes in that area in the last couple of weeks?

The old BBC iPlayer plugin dash streams will be the same as the BBC
sounds stream, so that is odd that that iPlayer works and BBC Sounds
doesn't. You can mimic the same information that the BBC Iplayer gives
to the transcoder in the BBC Sounds streams by setting "Hide the audio
sample rate from LMS" to true in the advanced settings. If it then
works, you can leave it like that, or investigate why transcoding is not
working for you when the sample rate is known.

Well, I'm running same version of DSM on my Synology NAS (DS716+II). And
Perl 5.24.0-0074 (and LmsUpdate) works fine for me here. Check you have
downloaded the right variant of Perl. I think there are different

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin

2021-03-29 Thread properjob

Sounds seems to have stopped working with Stefan's version of Squeeze
Player on Google Play Store. This is a new issue since last couple of
weeks. I use it on my Android TV box and have tested it on my Android
phone with the same results.

Android Squeeze Player still works fine with my library and other
streaming sources. I still have BBC iPlayer and iPlayer Extras (just to
do back to back in case of issues such as this) and they won't play
either now.

BBC Sounds still works with my hardware player SB Touch and a a
different virtual one called Vortexbox Player resident in my music
server (which I think is related to SqueezeLite). So does BBC iPlayer
and Extras in a limited way.

The log error returns a single line which is pasted below.

Sorry, no idea. I doubt that this has anything to do with the plugin -
the code i user to generate the menus is basic standard stuff.
What do you use to control these Chromecast-things? A web browser or one
of the Android/iOS apps?

Are you able to play the album by browsing to it with the standard menus
of your squeezeserver? If you play it from there, does the playback
position jump to the bookmark?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)

2021-03-29 Thread EspenK65

Hi,

I am running LMS on a Win 10 machine, with the latest LMS 8.2.0 update.
I have tried installing the Airplay bridge plugin (after a long break),
but after installation, I get the following error message when trying to
get to the plugin settings: 404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/RaopBridge/settings/basic.html.

I have tried adding the server directory of the LMS server to the PATH
environment variable, as well as uninstalling and trying to remove any
old information from previous installations to get it working, but
nothing has worked for me so far. I have verified that the path and file
in the 404 message is available under the "C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\server" folder.

For reference, I have the ShairTunes plugin installed, which is working
with no problem. I also tried installing the UPnP bridge plugin, which
gives the same "not found" result when trying to get to the plugin
settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

BR/ Espen

I was able to finally find an old version but it won't install because
it's using outdated python.

If that is what you have, I don't think it will work unless you install
it on a older version of Kodi.

I don't believe there is any volume control in the analogue domain with
a Pi. And certainly with a digital out there is no conversion to
analogue to apply volume changes, followed by a conversion back to
digital. Attenuation is done in the digital domain, certainly as I
understand it.

Yes. It was working fine before. I have other servers on the same pc
that I can connect to with web browsers, Plex and ChannelsDVR. I will
probably unplug my router/restart PC, and give it another go. My
Squeezelite X on another PC connects fine but the browsers don't. I
sometimes like to use my phone's browser which isn't connecting.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay Bridg - Two HomepodMini paired to Stereo pair?

2021-03-29 Thread rkrug

Hi

I have now two HomePod Mini paired as a stereo pair, which works nicely
for my TV (intermediate solution), but when I use the Airplay Bridge,
they show up as two separate speaker.

Do I have to group them and set one to play right, the other left? This
works, but can I, in this case, hide the individual players and see the
group player?

Or am I missing something here, like grouping in the ?

Thanks,

Rainer
