Try w/o any firewall to confirm that something can be detected. Also, refer to post #1 of this thread and the user's guide for advice on NAT, docker host mode and other network-related issues. The bridge cannot run on a different network than the UPnP devices it needs to bridge. If you want your LMS isolated, then you need to run the bridge on a separated computer that is on the same network than your UPnP devices. The bridge is an independent program that does not need to run on the same computer than LMS, but in that case you will not access the configuration screen from LMS, you'll have to edit manually a config file. One solution could be to let the bridge always re-encode everything to flac and there you can tell it what bit depth you want. Another option is to remove flac from supported bridge's codecs and then tell than PCM should be truncated to 16 bits by the bridge. Unfortunately, LMS is unaware of what bit depth players support.. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
I need to figure out how to transcode 24bit flac to 16bit when sending it to my Yamaha receiver. Running on PI3 using PCP 7.01 and LMS 8.1.1. I tried a few settings under "Transcode", but it's not working. I guess I don't understand the option too well. Transcode: None | Flac | PCM | MP3 <-- I tried "Flac" and "PCM" 24 Bit PCM: I selected "16-bit always" It doesn't work. The receiver either skips the entire playlist (including 16/44.1 flac), or skips 24bit flacs. I would like to transcode 24bit flac to 16bit flac (or maybe 16bit PCM?). Is the format I am selecting in Transcode the INPUT or OUTPUT format? I wonder if this is because I need to install some dependencies binary on my PcP. Does the plugin come with the binaries it need for transcode? Or do I need to install it? Under "slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/UPnPBridge/Bin", I see: Code: -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 378.0K May 8 2015 libFLAC.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 1.3M May 27 2019 libeay32.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 237.5K May 8 2015 libfaad2.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 135.5K May 8 2015 libmad-0.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 24.0K Jul 29 2019 libogg-0.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 60.0K Jan 8 2018 libogg.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 311.0K Jul 28 2019 libopus-0.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 50.5K Jul 28 2019 libopusfile-0.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 109.0K May 8 2015 libsoxr.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 1.2M Jan 8 2018 libvorbis.dll -rw-rw-rw-1 tc staff 104.0K Jan 8 2018 libvorbisfile.dll I thought these were the binaries, but it just occurred to me they are Windows binaries. Started playback and tracks 1 and 2 played correctly, but then playback stopped at the end of track 2. We don't have a timeline for pCP8.0.0. It's just a matter of when it is good enough for users. The command to turn the leds off depends on which model RPi you have. Reason being that my Move is still on 13.0.0 which I'd updated to when it was first released around 5 weeks ago. The iOS controller has had a few updates since then (currently 13.0.5) which quite often also requires an update on the Sonos units too. The device appears as in UPnPBridge as available. There is the occasional hiccup with a playlist getting stuck at the end of one track (almost always with FLAC files) and not advancing to the next track, but it is something I can live with. I gather the issue is that your Auralic is not showing up at all. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi Philippe You might recall a few months ago I was experiencing tracks skipping when using the bridge with my Sonos. At the time you made a change and everything had been working perfectly in the meantime. Unfortunately I've started seeing a recurrence of the skipping today. I had 2 skipped tracks within 10 minutes on the same album (they played fine on the second attempt) so I re-enabled logging and have attached the output. I've managed to replicate two problems once logging was enabled: Issue 1: At timestamp [17:54:29.920139], track "I Say Nothing" is queued up to play. However, as soon as the previous track "Trust Me" finished playing, the music stopped playing completely and the progress bar appeared stuck at the end of the track that had just finished. The log shows the following when it happened: [17:57:49.379703] _SyncNotifState:639 [0xc41940]: guessing missed nextURI (null) Issue 2: I restarted playback at 17:59 and "I Say Nothing" played okay this time. However when it was due to play next track "There's A Barbarian In My Car", it was skipped and immediately started to play "Just a City" instead. I ought to mention though that I have made some changes to my system 2 days ago. I did play quite a lot of music yesterday and didn't notice any skipped tracks so maybe it's unrelated? Originally I was running the official "latest" Docker image for LMS 8.1.1, but on Friday I switched over the official "stable" Docker image for LMS 8.1.2. As far as I know, that's the only thing that's changed and it might be unrelated, but thought I ought to mention it. I'm not noticing anything glitchy going on with my network whilst this is happening, and there's no heavy traffic on my wi-fi. Anyway, log is attached in case you can see anything weird going on. My observation on the Smokey Robinso file was an error toward the *very* end (confirmed by both ffmpeg and my built-in decoder) which again caused the player to raise an error (STMn) and as a result LMS immediately stops playback for *synchronized players*, discarding all what is in the decoded buffer, which can be a lot as decoding happens way ahead of playback. Standalone players are not affected neither are groups when there is transcoding happening as faad does not/cannot return an error, simply it returns EoF and all the previously decoded audio is already piped to flac and will be played. By amazing coincidence, that error above is from 1-13_Last_Kiss.m4a. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Group Players: Songs stop prematurely with an error
I understand what you are saying, and your example is helpful. I think perhaps I have been misunderstanding the nature of this particular encoding error. I had understood it to be an error in encoding some audio at an arbitrary and random timecode. What I now speculate may be happening is that the error is at a fixed place near the end of the file, perhaps in some kind of footer. Otherwise, I would expect some variability in when the file stops playing, and it is very consistent. I haven't been able to find adequate documentation of the ALAC format yet to see how a file is structured, so I haven't really validated this idea. Some more information: ffmpeg gives this error when transcoding one of the example files to aac: [alac @ 0x55794a5e1c40] invalid samples per frame: 0/s speed=79.3x Error while decoding stream #0:0: Invalid data found when processing input Of note, I can transcode the original source flac with ffmpeg with no issues, so the error seems to have been introduced when I used XLD to transcode from FLAC to ALAC. What's **really** interesting is that I can use ffmpeg to transcode the original source FLAC and the XLD-transcoded (with error) ALAC both to aac, and end up with *identical* files, despite the error thrown by ffmpeg when transcoding the ALAC file. That is to say, an md5 hash of each outputted file is identical. Both play to the very last note outside of LMS, and I haven't yet tried them within LMS. This suggests to me that the payload of the misencoded file is intact and that the error is in a container structure. benh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6732 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114439 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

"The OpenHome platform comprises full Renderer and ControlPoint stacks which are based on UPnP services but both extended and simplified to provide a richer, more robust and interoperable environment for networked audio playback." So I think the challenge would be to work out the differences between OpenHome renderer and "standard" UPnP. If you use the tool that I referred to then you should be able to collect detailed information - or perhaps ship a device to Philippe in Canada. It could be something simple with just one or two fields that need to be recognised or set. Would it be possible for the creator of this Plugin to make a version of this plug in that makes OpenHome compatible devices pop up in LMS? That would be brands like Linn, Auralic, Lumin Cambridge Audio(?) and many more. I believe availible info can be found here: http://openhome.org/pages/develop/source.html And more here: https://development.linn.co.uk/ nimnul's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13492 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
