I don't know what version of the plugin created that debug log, but it's not the one in the Github zip file. In fact, I couldn't match the line numbers up with any versions I have. They aren't even close to v4.1 though. Even without the line numbers not matching up, I can tell by the logic flow that it's not v4.1. Could it be that maybe you are copying the new files into the wrong plugin directory? I'm not sure what the problem is but hey, tomorrow is another day. Ok, done. I'll put this on hold until you've found the time to do your tests. The last stage is to set the 'style tracks' used for the jukebox - and this can take a *long* time (e.g. 15mins). For this random tracks are used. I modified the code to try to take at least 1 track from each album. *But* I think this is broken. When I tested this my DB was already populated! Yours will not be. Sorry. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Musly DSTM Mixer (mix by similarity)
Just a quick question: I'm now at a stage in the analysis process where there's no more HDD read access but the python process is still doing something (100% on one core) (no freeze). The debug log hasn't moved past these message for quite a few hours: Code: DEBUGSelect style track from each album DEBUGNum album style tracks: 0, required style tracks: 1000 No more messages after that. As I said python is still doing something. The database file shows most tracks (except the last ~450) with filename/path and values. So that's where I'm at right now. What is it doing right now? It's taking one track from every album and... doing/writing something? I don't see any relevant file related activity on my OS unless all this is happening in RAM. Is there some other way than the stdout log messages to tell if something's wrong? I'll wait until tomorrow and decide then. afriend's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39306 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112713 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I don't think so. My speed test shows 365Mbps. The loading delay in the Artist lost isn't long but it means you can't tell where you are in the list. It can be a lot longer in the Album list presumably because it is a much bigger list. I just disconnected from the internet and it seems Squeezer does not use 'LMS cached' artist arts - I got 'black' arts, 'loading...' displayed much longer than usual, and I got tons of log messages like: Code: [21-05-04 20:53:28.2933] Plugins::MusicArtistInfo::Common::__ANON__ (161) Failed to call https://www.last.fm/music/B.%20Cummings%2FR.%20Bachman/+images: 404 Not Found [21-05-04 20:53:28.6456] Plugins::MusicArtistInfo::Common::__ANON__ (161) Failed to call https://www.last.fm/music/B%20CUMMINGS%20R%20BACHMAN/+images: 404 Not Found [21-05-04 20:53:29.3287] Plugins::MusicArtistInfo::Common::__ANON__ (161) Failed to call https://www.last.fm/music/B%20GUDMUNDSDOTTIR/+images: 404 Not Found [21-05-04 20:53:29.5580] Plugins::MusicArtistInfo::Common::__ANON__ (161) Failed to call https://www.last.fm/music/B%20J%20FROST/+images: 404 Not Found I've a 200Mbit/200Mbit connection - why I maybe do not recognize the remote loading of arts in normal cases. lms: version: 8.2.0 - 1616690655 @ thu mar 25 18:15:21 cet 2021 on rpi4/ raspbian buster 10 pointed (nfs) to musiclibrary on qnap ts212 squeeze-players: duet - cntrl-fw: 8.0.1-r16844/ receiver-fw: 77 2x radio - fw: 8.0.1-r16844 rpi 2b - pcp 7.0.1/ squeezelite v1.9.9-1372-pcp transporter - fw: 87 softsqueeze 3.9.2 on win 10 / squeezeplay 8.0.1r1343 on win 10 squeeze player 1.3.21 on s7/android 8.0.0 controller: android phone - squeezer 2.2.4/ material skin 2.3.5 MichaelPr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68465 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114519 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes, I understood what you both are talking about... and yes, that's what I wanted to say. Neither me with my old Android 8 nor my son with the current Android 11 really see this loading issue you described. In fact, if you scroll quickly for a split second, you can see 'loading...' and then the icon appears - but this is hardly noticeable during normal use. I think this is also due to the network speed and how the LMS server is connected to the network. I will try it out in the basement with weak WiFi (which isn't usually the use case of my son ;) ). lms: version: 8.2.0 - 1616690655 @ thu mar 25 18:15:21 cet 2021 on rpi4/ raspbian buster 10 pointed (nfs) to musiclibrary on qnap ts212 squeeze-players: duet - cntrl-fw: 8.0.1-r16844/ receiver-fw: 77 2x radio - fw: 8.0.1-r16844 rpi 2b - pcp 7.0.1/ squeezelite v1.9.9-1372-pcp transporter - fw: 87 softsqueeze 3.9.2 on win 10 / squeezeplay 8.0.1r1343 on win 10 squeeze player 1.3.21 on s7/android 8.0.0 controller: android phone - squeezer 2.2.4/ material skin 2.3.5 MichaelPr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68465 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114519 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

My Android is up to date as well. Squeezer is the only interface I use that has the "loading" issue. Are you saying that if your son pulls the fast scroll bar from top to bottom he doesn't ever see the issue? I find if you stay in the Artist list then after scrolling through the list once the loading issue disappears. If you then open the Album list the loading issue is back. Going back to the Artist list again and the issue reappears there as well. afriend and erland, I just discovered the availability of Ratings Light v1.9.1. I uninstalled the previous version and installed this one. Fabulous! The backup works like a charm! And when scrolling to the end of the backup file I saw a "WARNING" that a track had been ignored and that I could check the server.log for more information. I checked the server.log and, yep, there was a reference to the file I had deleted with this commentary: "WARNING: Ignoring this track, not found in LMS database" So, excellent diagnostics and revision. One extra free port on router /switch (assuming you want lms on wired lan)? Maybe easier backup? (no idea about backing up pCP config - most likely it's there too) I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. Seriously nothing significant I can think of. On other hand. Your NAS is quite powerful but for some lower spec NAS devices moving LMS to RPi 4 will definitely give better performance. .. Ohh there was actually one thing I was happy about when moving from pinkdot's image to docker. (I know nothing to do with RPi) Pinkdot package had access to all NAS folders.. It was based on trust is not creating weak security spot for NAS. With docker there is extra isolation and only music library exposed to LMS.. Probably no big deal but I was previously bit uneasy with that. Yet again this applies to RPi which you give only limited NAS access. If your NAS is able to and indeed does hibernate then probably better to stick to RPi LMS... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Had a frustrating night with my effort to downgrade Spotty - run into permission problems, tried to fix but finally still did not get it working. And after reading more in the forums I realized it is not worth the effort as DSM7 will eventually upgrade Perl to an LMS incompatible version and I cannot prevent this. Running LMS as a Synology package is a dead end. Today I gave Docker a try which was way more easy than I expected. Much better approach as I now can play around with newer LMS versions and still have keep my old versions. Unfortunately I get the same Spotty problem with disconnected daemons (LMS v8.1.1, Spotty v4.4.9). How I can reproduce using the Spotify app on my iPhone: - Switch app to Squeezebox Radio: Works - Switch app back to iPhone audio: Works - Switch app again to same Squeezebox Radio: Fails (times out) Log says "Connect daemon is running, but not connected - shutting down to force restart" This means every second time a SB Radio as chosen it will not accept as it is restarting its daemon. loopguru's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67725 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Jaca wrote: > Why LMS on NAS you ask.. > Why not. However, the why not for myself; is why we are having this discussion in the first place. Software Obsolescence and more 'pieces of software'. I used to run pinkdot's stuff on my NAS few a few years, and now we are going the Docker route. And when you said "You like the idea of keeping it all in one place" --- I do too, but I'm thinking of the software, not the hardware. That is where we spend most of our time 'tinkering', rather than the hardware. When I moved to the Rpi Model 4, I detected a snappier, fast response from LMS also. Couple this with the PcP developers recommend a Rpi to run LMS and all of the PcP software is 'Packaged' in the PcP Download. Also, most of my listening is via Streaming, either radio stations or Qobuz My NAS is on but usually sleeping most of the time. I Just wanted your opinion on what you thought the advantages are... It doesn't seem like a big thing either way. - It's good to have options. I do update manually roughly once a month ish.. It's not difficult but not as easy as pCP. 1.Download new lms docker image 2.Stop existing container and edit auto start and ports (if in bridge mode) 3.set up new image to identical config as old one had (that's why you need /config folder pointing to folder on NAS for easy update or backup) If you open 2tabs with dsm /docker container version in each, it takes a minute at most, but yeah it's not automatic. In terms of performance : you need to check yourself. I bet RPi 4 will give you better experience but it may depend on which nas/which services running etc Why LMS on NAS you ask.. Why not. My DS218+ handles it well alongside other services and I just like idea of keeping it all in one place (on device which is on 24/7 anyway) I do have couple RPi 3b /3b+ but one functions as kodi with squeezelite on libreelec and other is spare not currently in use(use to retropie) . I don't really want to buy rPi 4 even if you like said it's rather cheap. Still it's yet another device. I guess it's mostly personal preference. I don't change my phone /laptop a very year or two.. I don't like whole planned obsolescence and I like to get most out of working gear, even if it needs bit of tlc once a while.. Im guessing I'm bit mad / not usual user and most people will prefer to run LMS on separate RPi for ease of use :) Only advantage for yourself would be if you can repurpose your RPi 4.. Do you need media centre? Building a robot perhaps? Just installed squezzer on another phone and fdroid shows most recent version which includes option to download, thanks [emoji106] 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114519 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
