Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Hi I just noticed a little glitch ... seems the Hotkey for "Append to queue" for an album is set to Ctrl+A (as shown in the tooltip when hovering over the plus icon). The hotkey for "Manage Players" is Ctrl+A as well. When using the hotkey Ctrl+A, both functions are performed ... tracks are added to the queue, and the Manage Players view opens. According to the help page in Interface settings, the hotkey for "Append to queue" should be Ctrl+Shift+A instead? andy67's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70350 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Not completely sure if the “Use unsupported extensions” option also works for patches/applets or if something similar would have to be done in the SqueezePlay source code to make it work. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
Hi all, I'm trying in vain to get MusicIP working with LMS on a Max2Play installation on a Pi 3. - I followed the instructions to the point in the first post. - I can run MIP in headless mode using the replacement interface (everything standard, e.g. port 10002 etc.). - I successfully imported a default.m3lib generated on a Win 1.8.1 installation (for 100 test files). - I can generate a mix from the headless interface for this library. - I activated the MusicIP plugin in the LMS. All other plugins I deactivated to avoid any collisions. - I did a full wipe and rescan of my DB in LMS. - I started MusicMagicServer and after that re-started LMS so that it would recognize MIP to be running. BUT: When selecting in LMS the details of one of the tracks which showed up as mixable in step #4, there is not the usual option to generate a mix based on this track. What am i doing wrong? Yes in application called flac which compresses the pcm from input port into flac but not fixed size buffer. Most of the delay will be in the application (i.e. lame for MP3 or Flac for flac) which compress the data. Very little delay in LMS. Rest of delay will be in player, transmission time and network buffers and don't forget the roc stuff (its own buffering and network delay). > There must be something I can tune to get this down to an acceptible > level. I think "must" is too optimistic if acceptable is less than maybe 200-500ms. If using windows - don't even bother trying. The only setting left buffer threshold - min value is about 50 but then if data is a little slow (i.e. don't use wifi) you'll get rebuffering If filling buffer is the delay - then try a higher sampling rate (i.e. 96khz andnot 44.1khz) then buffers will be filled faster but take longer to transmit - swings and roundabouts. Player should be wired and not use 2.4G Wifi. > Secondly, I hope that someone has an idea how to adjust the latency when > using mp3 as the codec. Buffer is the problems - buffer to compress and then player has to buffer data before decompress. > There is a webradio buffer setting in the audio settings of each > squeezebox, however it doesn't seem related to this issue Add the following in WAVIN.pm - it can cause more problems than it solves but for a fixed setup. Value can be 0-255 but less than 50 generally doesn't work. Code: # use a small buffer threshold to make stream start playing quickly sub bufferThreshold { 70 } Radio station bufer seconds is the setting which changes how much data must be in a player before ti start playing. The above means it is a plugin specific value and not general settings. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114631 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Idea/PoC: Using ROC to inject arbitrary audio data into the system
Since I'd like to listen to Twitch Music streams and use my Podcast app which both only support Chromecast, I needed a way to somehow hook up a chromecast to my squeezeboxes. Currently, to play anything apart from local files, music streaming or webradio, the only real options are either to use the WaveInput plugin or run an icecast or similar. The former works fine if your audio source is right next to the server that runs LMS but of course has issues with a central NAS Setup being far away from the Hifi rack. The latter is also a rather mediocre solution due to latency etc. There were some posts somewhere in the WaveInput plugin thread which suggested to use netcat to transfer audio to the central server. https://roc-streaming.org/ is basically that but better with stuff such as checksums, resilience against network issues etc. It is also free software under the MPL-2.0 Basically, it's exactly what's required to solve this issue without having to deal with a full pulseaudio network setup. You'd just run the roc-recv on the LMS host and then have something like a rasperry pi as an edge node to pick up your audio signal, send it to the central server and then distribute it from there. This will of course never allow for lip-synced audio, however, as long as the latency is acceptable (~3s max), it should be sufficient for stuff such as the mentioned music streams, podcasts or listening to your record player. To test this out, I copy-pasted the WaveInput plugin, changed its name and edited its custom-convert.conf to look like this: Code: # # rocin # rocin mp3 * * # R [roc-recv] --d mp3 --rate=44100 -s rtp+rs8m::10001 -r rs8m::10002 -o - And indeed it was working surprisingly well with only latency being an issue. Using the MP3 codec there causes some buffer in the audio path to add >10s of audio delay into the setup which is of course unacceptable. Interestingly, choosing pcm as the output format instead will result in the desired latency of 2-3s with no additional changes. That suggests that there's some fixed-size buffer somewhere which will just buffer as much as it can which will be a lot when using compressed audio. There must be something I can tune to get this down to an acceptible level. This thread serves a few purposes: First, this should be understood as > > Look, this works! This is something that could be extended further to > achieve feature parity with stuff such as Yamahas MusicCast > > Please point me in the right direction to get this working properly > since I have absolutely no idea how to develop plugins for the LMS > Secondly, I hope that someone has an idea how to adjust the latency when using mp3 as the codec. There is a webradio buffer setting in the audio settings of each squeezebox, however it doesn't seem related to this issue Thirdly, if this works out, it might also be possible to extend the Squeezebox Radio firmware so that its line-in could be used for the signal injection. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Old abandoned plugins, patches and applets for new Custom Firmwares, which still work
I have upgraded my touches, controllers and radios to the latest community firmware. However, several patches, applets have not been available due to max version limitations of the original maintainers. I have tested a number of the old plugins and apps using an internal web-server - they all seem to work. I have attached an xml which has a list of all the old patches and apps which work with the new community firmware, however the max-version had to be overwritten. No other changes were necessary. Maybe these plugins and applets can be added to the list of abandoned plugins for the availability of the community? Not sure how the mechanism works behind the scenes. I have attached my personal local repository list, which contains these patches and apps, as well as 2 abandoned plugins for the server. Please send a PM if you also want the apps / patches themselves, however most should still be available for older versions of the firmwares via official sources. I was using Spotty for a long time with success. I had to disconnect my system for about a week for a room renovation. When I connected everything again, Spotty stopped working, showing something like 'could not get client token' on the main LMS page. Then I tried deleting the account and importing it again, but I get errors like this. I tried upgrading the Spotty and LMS, but the problem persists. On my Spotify account, I found out that I had old authorisation for LMS. I deleted it, but no change. glorifyday's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112962 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Touch - Highlight Selected Items - Who can host the patch?
I have always been bothered by the limited contrast of selected items when I operated my Touch by remote control. I have written a patch to highlight the selected items via remote control in brown colors (decent but significantly better visibility and contrast than original highlights). The nice gradients of the original grey highlights are preserved. Installation and Removal work via patch installer. Who can host this patch, I have only an internal web-server for my own use. Patch and exemplary xml are attached - the patch is looking for a host to share it with the community... Also of note: All old "highlight patches for controllers and radios" work for the community builds, however the issue is the max versions of the original maintainers preventing an installation via official sources for new firmwares. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] hifiberry dac+ zero pi zero and picoreplayer
Hi all, I have the same setup: Pi Zero, HiFiBerry DAC+ Zero and piCorePlayer. The Pi Zero seems to run well, connects to my wifi and is visible as a player in my LMS. I used the settings as described above, only difference is that I am running pCP7. I also added the 'dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac' in the config file. Also the HiFiBerry DAC+ Zero seems to function OK, when I use it with a Pi4 with either pCP or HiFiBerryOS it produces excellent sound. But sofar this setup only produces white noise. So any suggestion would be very welcome !! I am using a 3.5" TFT with 480x320 resolution and I can select screens that have a 'touch' mode applied, I suppose becaus the mode is selected by the width of the screen according to some code lines I found in the CustomClockApplet.lua file. Both screens (touch and 3.5"TFT) have a pixel width of 480. However, using a 'touch' mode screen wil result in a black border at the bottom. Is there somewhere an option to use a different height? How did you do this with your Joggler screen? The skin I am using on my TFT is the "WAV 3.5 in LCD Skin". Regards, deschman. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Hi, @mherger. You might remember that I had problems with autoscrolling the contents when the on-screen keyboard was popping out after tapping on an edit-box (Android, Chrome, limited screen size). The screen was scrolling, but missed a point and the edit box which was focused, wasn't visible. I remember that you introduced some manual correction for this and it worked for that time. Then it stopped again. I think that now the manual correction might be unnecessary. It's possible that Chrome fixed the scroll-to-view mechanism in the meantime. Why do I think so? As far, as I remember, before adding the manual correction, chrome "underscrolled" (the focused editbox was positioned too low and was obscured by the keyboard). Now I notice an "overscrolling" (the edit box is positioned too high and goes out of screen). If this is the manual correction what makes the Chrome "overscroll", maybe it can be removed now? glorifyday's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
