I am one of those running LMS and Spotty on a 32bit Windows computer. I learned that from now on I need to use an older version of the helper file saved as Spotty-custom.exe. Does this mean that no further bug fixing or development will take place for Spotty on my hardware? The PC Only no improvements in the helper app. Eg. normalization might not work as expected. But other than that there aren't any important changes in that part yet, and I don't know whether there will be any soon. Most of the changes usually are in the Perl code, which you'd still get. Now the more specific question. Spotty seems to work fine using v0.35.0(?), with one exception: I can't fast-forward in a Spotify track, Hmm... Not even using SPT -> FLAC conversion? Can you run "spotty-custom.exe -x" and report back what that gives? What is the rationale for having downloads on anything apart from the apk version? If you are using Material on an iOS device there is nothing to be gained as there would be no means of playing said downloads. If you are using on a PC or Mac the chances are that you have easy access to the full LMS file store anyway so . Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.6 - sorting option for Albums/Artists/Songs, replay gain fix
I have two questions, one more general and one more specific, possibly including some troubleshooting. I start with the general one: I am one of those running LMS and Spotty on a 32bit Windows computer. I learned that from now on I need to use an older version of the helper file saved as Spotty-custom.exe. Does this mean that no further bug fixing or development will take place for Spotty on my hardware? The PC is quite old, but still works fine, so I guess this day would eventually come... Now the more specific question. Spotty seems to work fine using v0.35.0(?), with one exception: I can't fast-forward in a Spotify track, i.e. "jump" to a placer further into the track. Every time I do that Spotty will start playing the song from the start again, although the progress bar does not go back, so during the rest of the track it is out of sync with the music playback. When I look in the server log file (is this correct, or is there a specific Spotty log file?) the only error message that I see is: "[21-07-16 19:31:01.4348] Slim::Plugin::xPL::Plugin::xplExecuteCallback (619) Warning: Called without a client: prefset" This seems to come up every time I try to "jump" inside a Spotify track. Could this be fixed, or is this soemthing that I will have to accept running a 32bit PC? Just to mention that I'm personally very happy that it does this, it is a useful feature I think. I don't mind the BBC having a list of things I've listened to on Sounds or watched in iPlayer. What bothers me about "personalisation" is that it covers your whole BBC account and by their own admission includes keeping tabs on what you read on the BBC website in order to build a profile and recommend things to you etc. - I don't want that, but a list of "recently watched" would be fine by me. I think that "continue listening" or "resume watching" should be available without it but the BBC tie them together on their own websites and apps to force I mean, encourage you to allow data collection if you want that functionality. BBC Sounds for LMS allows "continue listening" without personalisation turned on which I very much appreciate and to me proves that it is completely independant of personalisation. Just seems annoying that the BBC take this approach on their own platforms. slurmsmckenzie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.6 - sorting option for Albums/Artists/Songs, replay gain fix
You must add for the local author, a Spotify album in the Spotify library. Then you use the “Browse on Spotify” feature and it works correctly. You can delete the album from the Spotify library but from now on the “Browse on Spotify” feature always work correctly for this author. I doubt it would survive another clean wipe & rescan. There seems to be some room for improvement in the mapping procedure... ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You can delete the album from the Spotify library but from now on the Browse on Spotify feature always work correctly for this author. I find that quite annoying as I would like to have the resume functionality without any of the other stuff, but of course they bundle them together as they know that the resume part is useful and so people will be willing to trade their personal information and habits to get it. The fact that Sounds can do it without personalisation shows that they do not in fact "need to understand how you use the BBC, by looking at things like the articles you read and the programmes you watch" for the resume functionality part. I suppose that it is good that the BBC at least give you that choice - for ITV Hub and All4 you have to accept "personalisation" to use the service at all. Still it is a shame that you can't get the resume functionality on iPlayer on the TV without personalisation. slurmsmckenzie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] problem with popping sounds in squeezelite
It's not as I expected. If I use /etc/init.d/squeezelite stop/start, it doesn't seem to pick up the parameters from /etc/default/squeezelite, it still takes the params from ExecStart in /etc/systemd/system/squeezelite.service. If I change the ExecStart line then on re-starting squeezelite I get a warning to run "systemctl daemon-reload" whatever that is. I do that, start squeezelite, and it picks up the new ExecStart parameters. So it seems to me with my setup which auto starts squeezelite at bootup, the settings in /etc/default/squeezelite are irrelevant. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.6 - sorting option for Albums/Artists/Songs, replay gain fix
I'm using lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver:latest You might need to expose port 5353 to the network to make discovery work. LMS devices using Spotty. So I figure the spotify client on my phone is getting the list of spotify connect players from spotify's servers, which is getting it from spotty, but spotty only tells spotify about one user at a time? Or maybe it's spotify that only shows the last user that used a device? A client can either scan your network for speakers, or rely on Spotify's servers to tell it what speakers are available to your account. (or both) The first option allows anyone in your network to see speakers. All your family members would see them, no matter who last used them. This mode requires discovery and player announcements to be working correctly (which under certain circumstances isn't the case). The second option allows you to see your players anywhere on the globe. But only if you've been last to use them. This method is not limited to your network. Spotify apps have an option to only show local players - which would disable this method. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
