Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Europa Radio Jazz appear to have changed something at their end over night and have messed up the track titles a bit. They usually prefix the title with some sort of identifier - like N123A456B. I strip that off when working out the title. However, this changed to have a lower case "n" at the start for some tracks ... which I can adjust things to handle ... but a bigger issue is that they seem to have lost the first 9 characters of the track title in some cases ... and that is the length of their identifier. Some tracks also have a title ending in ".wav" ... So I suspect a string formatting issues at their end. I have sent them an email to alert them to it. Hopefully they will spot the problem and fix it quickly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Thanks, Philippe for this amazing plugin! Has anyone reading this used UPnPBridge with either MyTek Brooklyn Bridge or a Bel Canto e.One (or any other device using Convers Digital's CDMCM-2121 DLNA module)? If so, what settings worked best for you? I am trying to optimize the settings to obtain smooth playback, including high-res PCM and DSD64 files in my library. Initially, tracks would play fine but would get stuck at the end and fail to transition to the next song (in chunked mode, with gapless=yes). I had to use gapless=force to get past that. But then, since I wanted to have true gapless playback, I switched to "flow" mode, with transcoding set to "flac" at 176,400 samples per second x 24-bits. When used with the DSDplayer plugin, and soxr quality = high, I get acceptable sound quality from my DSD64 files. I can't use DSD over PCM mode (DoP), since UPnPBridge is being asked to resample and therefore won't conserve bit-true DoP formatting. I'd welcome any thoughts you might have on my customization choices, especially if they could be further optimized. It would be icing on the cake if I could get DoP working in "flow" mode to have true gapless *and* utilize my DAC's DSD capabilities, but even wishing for such a refinement puts me in the class of obsessive Audiophool, so no worries if this isn't going to happen! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: LMS Connect - streaming Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via native Android apps
Just installed and set it up with my new Qobuz account. Great job! Thanks for doing this. It fills a definite need for me as another tool in the box. I can now find an interesting Hi-res release in Qobuz and, with one click, send it to LMS where the Denon plugin automatically powers on my AVR, sets its input to my DAC player, and starts playing it in all its 24-bit glory. And, if I like what I hear, I can quickly add it to my Qobuz favorites and thus my LMS library. It would still be nice if there was a way to add an artist or album to the Qobuz favorites from an LMS client via the plugin but this method allows full access to all the features of the Qobuz app, which is even better. Thanks again! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS
36260 Version 5.0 of MediaServer is now live and automatically deployed when you use the skill. The Amazon app will -not -list it as updated as there were no changes to the voice model however, there are many, many changes to the code: * First off, most *spoken responses* are quite a bit *shorter*. For example, if you ask to play something that targets the assumed player, the response no longer mentions "... on the bla bla player" since that's pretty implicit. Playback/stream responses now usually start with a verb, and superfluous information is skipped (e.g. if an album name includes the artist's name Bob Seger's Greatest Hits there's not much point in saying that it's "... by Bob Seger". * It can take anything from 300ms to 3 seconds to start up the /stream.mp3 network client in LMS. That is a blocking delay because the playlist cannot be queued until the player is created. The spoken response from Alexa (which also blocks your audio from starting because it has to finish before the music starts) is now sent *asynchronously *so that your hear the speech while the player is still being created in parallel. This makes streaming much snappier. * The *ListFavorites *command(s) now show the favorite number and the associated dotted-ID (in addition to the favorite-name) on Echos with screens. In the screenshot above, the favorite number is in orange, the dotted notation is in blue, while unplayable items such as folders are dimmed with a red strikethru over the notation. * There's a new *sorting rule* for favorites (still based on the default skin), whereby nested folders are exhaustively extracted before popping back up a level to the next item there. This provides consistency up to 1000 items per nested folder and makes the numbering 100% predictable. When counting favorites manually, as soon as you see a folder, go into it and keep counting everything there (and below!) before moving back upwards in the hierarchy. It'll be obvious on your Echo's screen. * Asking to *play a song by name* now first queues the oldest match in your library with the shortest name, which is usually the *original*. Say you have 10 versions of 'Valerie' by Steve Winwood, where 5 are called just 'Valerie', 2 are called 'Valerie (Radio Edit)', one is called 'Valerie (Extended Mix)', and 2 are called 'Valerie (Live)'. The original 'Valerie' from Talking Back to the Night will play first. Next, one each of the Live, Extended and Radio Edit will be randomly selected and those 3 will be auto-shuffled. Meaning that 4 tracks will be queued. So the version you are probably after will always play first rather than a Live or Remix variant. Player shuffle being active -will -override this as the -original-first-and-then-Fisher-Yates-shuffle- is actually done by the skill and not LMS (it queues an array of track_id's). * Play/Stream *song-index-from-album* now only queues the track in question, rather than first loading the whole album it's from and jumping to that track. This results in artwork on Echos while streaming because that makes sense in the context of a single track. * Play/stream *playlist *commands have the same asynchronous speech as mentioned above for network clients, as they can also take noticeably longer before LMS processes them. * Playback commands that* match many artists* (e.g. play something by 'Bob' while forgetting to add 'Dylan' or 'Seger') will now show all the matched artist names on your Echo's screen to help you narrow things down. * Album/Song mismatches between *requested/actual artist* will now display results with coverart on your screen to help guide your choice. If you ask to play the album 'Abacab' by 'The Beatles' you'll see the retrieved cover art and metadata in addition to hearing that the matched-artist is actually Genesis. This is deliberately shown with a smaller image than the now-playing screen to avoid confusion, but becomes now-playing size if you choose to accept the correction. * The *background image* for the Now-Playing screen has been changed to provide better legibility of textual metadata against the backdrop. ** Fuzzy matching* of artists has been noticeably improved due to making even more round-trips to LMS if needed. * Many commands make more use of the screen than they used to. Also, text is more *responsive *to the size and shape/aspect-ratio of your Echo's display. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Thank you for suggestions. I have installed Tidal on LMS/squezebox and control it using Squeezebox app on my android phone. Works good. I am glad with my dac and simply wanted to transmit aother audio content through existing dac, also from other app via chromecast. I know that I can connect directly chromecast audio to my amplifier but i this case i would have to switch the sources ( I do not have selector or preamp including it). Yesterday I installed squeeze2cast and in fact works perfectly, LMS sees all chromecast devices in my network and send to them requested content. best regards, Darek kuba's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
I'm trying to setup the UpNp plugin to enable me to use my Cambridge Audio CXNV2 in conjunction with LMS. My player is discovered okay and plays a track for a few seconds ( sometimes longer ) and then skips back a few seconds or stops ( or both ) ( this process is repeated ad nauseam ). I also cannot pause a track. Any ideas guys ? The LMS server is a high spec Linux box with my colllection of flac files stored on a high speed SSD M2, the Cambridge is connected with a cable If I use squeezlite as the player there is no problem Logfile 36257 +---+ |Filename: Upnplog.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36257| +---+ We can't stop here this is bat country. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Also, if your phone is an Android one and you prefer to use TIDAL's own app, you could try the experimental LMS Connect app on your phone. The LMS Connect app uses Android's built-in app share feature to receive track links from the TIDAL app, forward them to LMS and therefore get your piCorePlayer's Squueezlite player to play the shared tracks. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
CoverSearch seems to be behaving well so decided to release. 0.0.16 26-Nov-2021 - Add experimental cover art search for some stations that do not have any - Add Dandelion Radio - rewrites artist name to extract programme name - Add FSK - only shows programme name - For Europa Radio Jazz - strip from the end of the title the optional trailing record speed indicator (33RPM etc) - For Europa Radio Jazz - show programme name (e.g. live Jazz in the morning where there are no song details) More stats (running totals): 20211125:0615 496 - of which 127 failed to match 20211125:0946 543 - of which 149 failed to match 20211126:0939 1102 - of which 336 failed to match There is still an issue with KlassikRadio.de that can result in the track details not updating. It is because they sometimes change the stream URL during a session (possibly on a retry) and it results in a failure to find the station id in the URL so the plugin stops updating. If it happens to you simply start playing the stream again - possibly playing another one first.
