Hi, Thanks heaps for making the plugin workable again. Possible to show how the custom-config file should look like per your update above(+any other file changes). I cant play WMAL files hence need to apply the fix. I cant make the changes in the Advance menu even after disabling Native for WMAL. I also tried disabling the plugin then re-activating it but no effect. It's happened several times that I've heard technical announcements that are not heard in the UK. Either some kind of Beeb finger trouble, or a bug whereby whover is testing the messages for future use is unaware that they somehow sneak though the non-UK feeds (or get activated when a listener's connection originates outside the UK). I heard the message again today, saying that the evening programming will not be "the usual", but "selections from BBC Sounds". Apart from that being what R4Ex is anyway, the programming now seems just as the schedule had said it would be. 8.2.1 - 1639114554 Win11 Control: Web GUI; MaterialSkin on Android phones / pads b) Freebox Pop Wifi6 / Mesh External SSD, WiFi Laptop 2 x Touch LAN (Firmware:8.0.1-r16907) 2 x SB Radios, Wireless (8.0.1-r16907) agbagb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7034 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi Phillipe - to answer your questions: 1) this track skipping only happens on UPnPBridge players, not on "real" Squeezebox devices (i have a Duet and two Radios). The album folder for "Whiteout" is 49.1 MB and track Stereolight is 6.39 MB and track Nursery Rhyme is 6.20 MB. Those are MP3 tracks. Curiously, after i posted my message, I played a flac album and had no skips (it was a different UPnP player - Sonos Arc instead of Naim QB2) I attach that log (8 tracks played normally, and i stopped it in track 9) We had a lengthy exchange about this skipping issue between Sept 17 and 20 2022 in the "Announce: UPnPBridge ..." thread, which would of course have occurred with prior versions of LMS and UPnPBridge - so maybe it is a similar issue? You suggested at that time increasing the buffer size in the bridge config file, which did seem to significantly lessen the skipping. Here is one of your posts from then about possible causes: "No, I really don't think so. The issue you are having might really be due to the antivirus being overly protective of sockets. I've read that some people had similar issue with the same antivirus/security suite. I don't know how you are familiar with that part of technology, but to communicate between the bridge and LMS, a channel must be opened using two sockets (IP address and port). There are many complications with sockets left open by programs on computers and although it should not be the case, there is a risk of exhaustion or security and various solution (not always great) have been developed to deal with these problem. The issue with the bridge is that when it opens a channel with LMS to grab the audio data, the transfer is not smooth due to the nature of a bridge and the numerous buffering involved (in the bridge and in the UPnP player). So typically, the 1st track is very quickly transferred, then the beginning of the second starts quickly as well and then... streaming might pause for a very long time (might even be almost the whole duration of the 1st track). So, for example, some on-line servers can't cope with that and assume the link is broken and systematically close it. What I'm wondering in your case is if a monitoring application of some sort could not force-close such sockets that have a burst of activity then *nothing* for minutes. It's not a good behavior, but... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Material Skin not showing the queue controls on my Desktop PC
bayard1music wrote: > So at present this isn't useable for me as I can't add or remove albums > as I see it >From your first post. I read through the thread and this is indeed bizarre. I have a few suggestions where (taking a wild shot) maybe if you use the interface, make it function, it might self resolve (again, an "all else fails" suggestion). You can add to the queue by either the '+', dots, or right click on the item (album/track) in the browse window. Similarly, in the queue window you can dots/right click to remove, or select a range to remove. Similarly for playlist construction. Not ideal, but maybe if you start to use the skin... A couple other random things: * You don't have server (as you mentioned) or player settings. Curious as to what you are using for player(s)? Are the connected to LMS and not mysqueezebox.com? * You mentioned favorites being missing. Since you have interface settings, go there, then "home screen items", is Favorites checked? * You have been getting good help here, but if it were me, I would remove the material plugin, clear the cache on my web browser (or use another device/browser), restart LMS, and probably even restart the LMS system (I use picoreplayer). * If you feel (and fear) you may have to reinstall LMS, it's not too bad. I have done it a few times :) We can offer some advice if it comes to that. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Material Skin not showing the queue controls on my Desktop PC
If you are using a PC I would be inclined to install Squeezelight-X from the MS Store (free download) as you can switch easily between the standard skin and Material skin (if you have the latter installed). If you have removed Material I would try installing it again to see if that cures the problem. All the controls you require are available as standard. There is an option to either show or exclude favourites via an option in the Settings / Interface option. As as principal you want something removal outside of the plug in perhaps in the event there's an issue. I fear your going to tell me I've got to re install the squeezeboxserver from scratch. To remove remove the extra plugin repository from the bottom of the plugin list - then remove and reinstall the plugin and you should be back to the last release. Before you proceed with the nuclear option and remove the skin (I really can't recommend it highly enough), can you post a picture of the screen you are seeing? I know - see my earlier question. Im interested to know what the reason is here just in case it is not needed. How do I remove this 'material skin'. I don't seem to have the menu option to remove. I think this needs setting up on a seperate Pi for me and checking out before switching. I assumed I could just revert but now don't have access to remove the plug in. If the queue view itself is narrow then Material will move some controls (move queue, add url, scroll queue to track) to the main menu (accessed via the three dots top right). However, clear queue and save queue should always be visible. *Material debug:* 1. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Material Skin not showing the queue controls on my Desktop PC
Just stumbled across this fine new interface for the Squeezebox Server. I've now installed on my Raspberry Pi 2, But for me, I can't see any of the Queue controls i.e. clear playlist , save playlist, as shown in the manual on page https://cdn.statically.io/gh/d6jg/material-documentation/master/html/QueueArea.html I seem to have only 'no shuffle' and 'no repeat' So at present this isn't useable for me as I can't add or remove albums as I see it . I might be doing something wrong but have the remainder of the intereface apparently working as it should do. Version: 8.3.0 - 1667251155 @ Fri 04 Nov 2022 09:16:39 AM CET Hostname: raspberrypi Server IP Address: 192.168.1.1xx Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux Perl Version: 5.28.1 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int Audio::Scan: 1.05 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.060 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0) Can anybody give me some advice as to why this might be the case. I admit I've just installed but expected the controls to bre present. Thanks in advance for your assistance. +---+ |Filename: Snap 2022-12-06 at 09.59.44.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39311| +---+ bayard1music's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51497 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117171 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

philippe_44 wrote: > Oh you don't need manual tinkering, just add a new repository in the > "plugins" tab : > http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/lms-plugins-philippe44/dev/repo-sf.xml Original problem: on QNAP running LMS v8.3, all my nice wireless Chromecast Speakers disappeared after months of working perfectly. Network was fine. Same Chromecast speakers worked from my iPhone using VLC on the same network. After mistakenly --> [ERASE] the config file in the Chromecast Bridge plugin GUI, could not restore the missing Chromecast Bridge config file = castbridge.xml on the QNAP LMS server and the plugin's [GENERATE] button did not create a new castbridge.xml file either. Hoped by installing the newest dev version of Chromecast Bridge over older version v1.82(?) I would be able to recreate the castbridge.xml file correctly. Established the new repository to dev version of Chromecast Bridge plugin . [x] check ! Installed the new dev Chromecast Bridge plugin (v2.0.6.3) . [x] check ! LMS was running with Chromecast Bridge config settings page visible in GUI interface [x] check ! Still no castbridge.xml file visible when --> [VIEW] button, throws error message "missing config file" ...dang. Still no castbridge.xml file created when --> [GENERATE] button. SSH into /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/SlimServer/prefs confirms castbridge.xml file is missing. Decided to manually create the castbridge.xml file as a pure text file from the Chromecast Bridge Help file example of a castbridge.xml file. Result my Chromecast Bridge plugin is broken and not displaying the settings config page at all. All these steps listed also included multiple LMS server restarts, [APPLY] buttons, rebooting the QNAP NAS ..etc. Nothing restores the Chromecast Bridge functionally ... dang. Do not know how to downgrade Chromecast Bridge plugin from the dev v2.0.6.3 back to v1.82-ish ???Have using the LMS Settings Plugins GUI to remove plugin, but it only installs non-functioning (for me) new dev version and I lack the LMS experience to force reinstall of the older plugin version. Hope this information helps another user with a similar missing Chromecast Bridge "castbridge.xml" config file and they toss me a life preserver, because I am stuck on this island with no LMS-server access to my Chromecast wireless speakers. -- thanks for any suggestions. mark-in-seattle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12034 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
