I'll redo a scan, last full one was 12/08. At least I quickly rescan
whole the folder that contains the zip I uploaded and it did not say
anything. I only use legit software and have an up-to-date system but
again, I'll recheck everything

It's clear now that I won't be able to fix the issues with the new
releases quickly enough. So I've rolled back the old repository so that
people who want stability can go back there. You should normally just
have to de-install my plugins from the LMS interface, maybe restart LMS
once more and now the old ones should show up.

I would highly appreciate that some stay with me on the dev repository
to help me fix these issues

Wow! LMS 8.4 also works for me, but oddly it emulates x86 architecture
on my M1 machine.

I think that sometimes happens right after installation. Don't ask me
why... But I fear you'll be back on native code next time you start LMS.

That said you can probably force LMS to run in x86_64 mode by prepending
the startup line with "arch -x86_64".

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify: authentication with Spotty failure

2022-12-13 Thread Michael Herger

Running LMS 8.3 on Debian Bullseye with Spotty 4.8.4. I am able to
setup authentication from a Spotify client on iPad. Once authentication
is setup it does not show up under the device option. Using iPeng I can
play music from Spotify without any issues. Did I potentially miss a
configuration step? Having exact issue with LMS setup on Daphile
v.21.01

I believe you want to control Spotty playback using a Spotify app? If
that's what you're trying to do you'll have to enable "Connect mode" in
the Spotty settings.

Please note though that Connect mode can be a bit temperamental...

Hmmm Well this is not good. I tried to download the zipped

detected and the download was blocked. Not sure how to proceed from
here. I was going to try downloading the squeeze2upnp.zip file that you
posted earlier and see if I got the message there too but I see that you
deleted the post. This is the page that Windows Defender directed me
to:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/threats/malware-encyclopedia-description?name=Trojan%3aScript%2fWacatac.H!ml&threatid=2147814524

It's late here so I'm going to bed but maybe you should run a virus scan
on your end to see if this is something serious. In the meantime, I will
run a full Defender scan and see what it reports in the morning.

I've downloaded them as you sent them through icloud. Can't reproduce

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify: authentication with Spotty failure

2022-12-13 Thread shadowlight

Hello,

Running LMS 8.3 on Debian Bullseye with Spotty 4.8.4. I am able to
setup authentication from a Spotify client on iPad. Once authentication
is setup it does not show up under the device option. Using iPeng I can
play music from Spotify without any issues. Did I potentially miss a
configuration step? Having exact issue with LMS setup on Daphile
v.21.01

Thank You

I haven't upgraded to Windows 11 yet. Maybe it's time for me to do it,
if only to stop getting those nagging messages every time I reboot.

Just saw this after my last post. I will be glad to test it. However,
the name of the zip file leads me to believe it is not the squeeze2cast
executable. I can't unzip it on my phone but can you verify that it's
the correct file?

Hey, Philippe. To continue my previous post, I just noticed in the log
that all of the errors seem to occur almost exactly 2 minutes after the
previous log entry, implying that the "something" that is closing the
sockets has a timeout interval of 2 minutes. I also found this link
which could possibly hold a clue if I knew anything at all about how the
plugin works internally. Maybe you could take a look at it and see what
you think. I could also try changing the registry KeepAliveTime to
something like 90 seconds as a test if you think that would be helpful.
Thanks.

Would you mind trying that version? I've just added a log to help me
figure out the error. Just un-zip the attachment and run it from
anywhere. There is no need to copy it to a special folder, but don't

I ran:
C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\UPnpBridge\Bin\squeeze2upnp.exe

And was informed VCOMP140.dll & VCRUNTIME140.dll are missing. They are
both part of MSV C++ 2015-2022 (64 bit) which *is definitely* installed
(along with a 2010 32 bit version that installs with LMS). Anyhow I
uninstalled both, reinstalled 2015-2022 and installed LMS over the
existing version (to ensure the correct version of 2010 MSV C++ was
installed). Just for good measure I uninstalled the two plugins, deleted
the prefs files and reinstalled the latest versions.

And when I ran squeeze2upnp.exe from the command line the result was
exactly the same as before!
So the plugins/LMS do not seem able to find the correct dlls, even
though they are there in Windows/system32. Any idea why that might be
(because I haven't!)? There is nothing esoteric about my music server
machine. It is standard install with very little on it but LMS and all
the OS paths and variables are exactly what you'd expect for a machine
with a standard 64bit Windows Pro install.

I'd understand if you did not want to go here Philippe (and you do seem
to have your work cut out for you at the moment).

Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip.

Lounge: Naim NDX with Touch as controller, Naim NAP 180, NAC 82, NAPSC,
HiCap, Shahinian Arc speakers
Kitchen/outside: Chromecast audio, Azatom iBigBoy 2 (500W)
And... SB+, radios & tons of Chromecasts... all run from LMS and
controlled via Material Skin on any nearby device and a couple of
Touchs.

Thanks, Philippe. That worked. I guess the question I have is "Why
should the user have to set a non-default option in the plugin in order
to play a standard vanilla mp3 playlist in passthrough mode without the
tracks repeatedly and predictably skipping forward?". My LMS is indeed
running on a Windows 10 server but, if the problem happens on all
Windows machines, as appears to be the case, why not make the underrun
logic the default behavior there? As to the socket close theory, I
thought it was put aside after a couple of us found that changing the
Windows KeepAliveTime registry entry from the default 2 hours down to 3
minutes made no difference. I'm also wondering what made you decide to
back out the change you made to get it working without the "underrun"
streaming option in v2.1.0. I know there are a whole lot of variables
involved here but just trying to understand the process. To pervert a
phrase, "Inquiring minds are a pain in the a**." ;)

2022-12-13 Thread Spacegrass

Hi Philippe – I have (belatedly) moved my reporting to this UPnP
Bridge-specific thread. I did not get a chance to try 2.1.11 – I attach
a log from 2.1.12 (Win 10 i7 laptop - all UpNP Bridge settings at
default other than binary set to static.) Log starts with same ol’ mp3
tracks – played ok, but skips at about three quarters through track 3,
and also track 4, and I stopped it in track 5. (just like several
previous versions.) Next in the log is a flac album (Star 69) which
appeared to play with no issues through 6 tracks and I stopped it in
track 7. The next entry in the log is Radio Paradise playing in flac
mode for about 10 minutes – also no problems.

I'm grateful for what you have done. It looks like a heroic effort to
me.

Shairtunes *is already* working with M1, but only with LMS 8.2.x and
perl5.18.

It's possible that the needed mods are on the LMS side, to make LMS
8.3.x work with M1 and whatever versions of perl ship with the current
macos (apparently 5.18 and 5.30).

Bad news. The problem with mp3 tracks ending prematurely that was fixed
in version 2.1.0 has returned with 2.1.10 and is still present in

As stated, Bliss only stores the path -within- the music folder. So if
you analysed c:\Some\Path\Artist\Album\Track.mp3 and set c:\Some\Path\
as Bliss analyser's music path, then only Artist/Album/Track.mp3 is
stored in the DB. When the mixer is run, it removes all LMS configured
Music paths from the LMS music tracks. So if
/srv/mediaserver/music/USB%20Drives/UP_Music/ was defined in LMS as a
music directory, then
/srv/mediaserver/music/USB%20Drives/UP_Music/Cee%20Lo%20Green/Cee-Lo%20Green...%20Is%20the%20Soul%20Machine%20(Clean)/11-Evening%20News.flac
is passed to bliss-mixer as
Cee%20Lo%20Green/Cee-Lo%20Green...%20Is%20the%20Soul%20Machine%20(Clean)/11-Evening%20News.flac
- and therefore should be found.

Both the analyser and mixer -should- be able to handle multiple music
directories.

Maybe an issue with DietPi os version. I have an Orange Pi0 with raspian
and I just tried to run the app and it works. Try to run directly the
helper from a command prompt. One of the updates I had to do is a whole
set of new compilers that have limitations in term of how old glibc (so
the core component of the OS) can be.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2022-12-13 Thread fredgoodman

It seems that when LMS is upgraded to version 8.3.x on macos, it also
used perl5.34 (and/or possibly a custom version of perl from the LMS
team)

Code:

Logitech Media Server Version: 8.3.1 - 1670824772 @ Mon Dec 12 07:19:58 CET
2022
  Hostname: Fredericks-Mac-Mini.local
  Server IP Address: 192.168.68.58
  Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
  Operating system: macOS 12.5 - EN - utf8
  Platform Architecture: Apple M1
  Perl Version: 5.34.0 - darwin-thread-multi-2level
  Audio::Scan: 1.06
  IO::Socket::SSL: 2.072
  Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0)
  Total Players Recognized: 2

According to an earlier post here by Philippe, his shairtunes2w does
not work with perl5.34.

Forcing use of perl5.18, as suggested in this thread by Pazzazu worked
for me on my intel mac, but it did not work for me on my M1 mac -- LMS
simply wouldn't start when forced to use perl5.18.

Executive summary: there seems to be a conflict between expectations
for versions of perl in LMS 8.3.x on macos and in shairtunes2w vs.
1.0.x.

I have revisited the None (No Transcoding) option with 2.1.11 and it
appears more stable but not fault less. The breaks appear shorter and
less frequent bu they still occur.

Now moved on to 2.1.12 announced on LMS this evening (UK time) for
further testing!

Thank you Philippe.

No problem, Olivier. Glad you got things working again. If you're ever
feeling adventurous, give the AVR Settings menu feature a try sometime.
It works great with just about all of the most popular client apps now
and adds another dimension to the plugin's functionality.

Being totally without knowledge about these things, is there any
possibility that the two other UPnP-related plugins interfere?
The users that have trouble now should maybe uninstall them if they are

The problem is no longer happening in 2.1.11. I am using a stereo pair
of Google Nest Minis. No flow or transcoding in use. As mentioned in a
previous post, the problem with local mp3 tracks ending prematurely also
returned with 2.1.10. I will be retesting with 2.1.11 later today.

Same here. FLAC is now working as it was before v2.1.10. Btw, the player
I am testing with is a stereo pair of Google Nest Minis. Another caveat
is that 2.1.10 also seems to have resurrected the problem with local MP3
tracks ending early. I have not retested that yet with 2.1.11 but will
do so shortly and report back.

Hi, I'm using the bridge on a QNAP TS-231P, information on LMS shows
platform architecture as armv7l-linux. Bridge version is 2.1.11
Which binary is better to use? I have a selection of arm and armv6, both
static and not static. But the armv6 doesn't seem to work, so I guess
the real question is arm static or non static better.

But I think with both of them some of the tracks skip in the middle of
playback. This is kind of random I guess. Maybe someone has some advice
on what I could do to improve uninterrupted playback?
I use the bridge with a Yamaha WXAD-10 streamer. Attaching an excerpt of
the log with a skipped track and my configuration file. Please excuse me
and let me know if some additional logging options enabled in the bridge
settings would help to better see the problem, I may enable them and
provide a better log if I notice a track skipping. This has happened for
several tracks in an hour.

It stuttered again. :(

I hope you see something in the log that can explain why this is
happening (it stuttered twice during the first track):

The stutters are less frequent than with the static version of the
binaries.

Following the upgrade to 2.1.11 this issue appears to be solved, and I
no longer have problems playing FLACs with no transcoding.

The warning is very clear i understand this. And philippe you don't have
to clean other parties's trashes also i understand this too...
But when you put this warning to the logs i think you know the
concequences what is coming toward us.
A reminder or warning would be nice, but you don't have to do this, i
understand you too.
I hope there is a solution which was come and save us with 2.1.8

By adding the direct link to 2.1.6 in the repository (or dnload it and

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2022-12-13 Thread fredgoodman

I tried today's new version 1.0.15. I got the same result, same error
messages in the log file. I did set the helper file to arm64 in the
preferences (for macos M1).

Moreover, I have somehow once again got into the situation where the
preferences are no longer accessible through the web interface; trying
to access them gives the html error message:

404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/ShairTunes2W/settings/basic.html

Moreover, I cannot correct this by uninstalling the plugin through the
plugins manager AND manually removing

/Users/fgoodman/Library/Application\
Support/Squeezebox/plugin/shairtunes.prefs .

If I re-install shairtunes through the plugins manager, I just get back
to the "404 not found" message.

The last time I was here, the only escape I found was to do a clean
install of LMS from scratch. Evidently, when things go south, you are
leaving behind some piece of information somewhere which prevents trying
again with a clean slate.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2022-12-13 Thread humax99

I also have a playback issue with FLAC albums. The tracks play fine and
then after a few minutes the sound stops, the track is still counting
down in the timeline bar on the controller and then after 3-4 secs the
sound starts again. This pattern repeats throughout the album. There
does not appear to be any fixed time between playback mutes. The problem
only appears to have started since version 2.n.n.n. of Chromecast bridge
was introduced.

The Chromecast bridge is configured with PCM transcoding and flow
enabled. Scaling factor is set to 70. All other settings are default. I
have tried changing the transcoding back to None (default) but it does
not make any difference.

Chromecast bridge 2.1.11

LMS Version: 8.3.1 - 1670824772 (current latest nightly but was doing it
before update).
Operating system: Debian - EN_GB - utf8
Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux
Perl Version: 5.30.0 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi
Chromecast adaptor is original type with firmware 1.36.159268

Thanks!

D.

Thanks.

That's almost always the case. The second is for redundancy, but it does
not start-up in boot-up. In this instance I started the second during
my earliest troubleshooting after installing 2.1.1. After your earlier
response, I shut it down, assuming it would be the same as if I never
started it in the first place. That proved to be wrong.

Check "Settings/Advanced/Spotty Spotify for Squeezebox" in the web

Just had another case where it eventually turned out that one of the
users had changed his/her password. Whether this would indeed invalidate
things, I don't know. But please try to remove your user account from
the Spotty settings, then add it back in.

Thanks, I think a path issue is indeed what's happening.
Daphile is configured out of the box to use /srv/mediaserver/music/ as
the LMS music path. Any disk you add is automatically mounted under that
path, in its own folder (which makes adding more discs containing music
really simple, it's all under one directory). I connected my USB disk to
my Windows machine directly, making scanning quicker than over the
network, resulting in a db path of e.g. "Queensrÿche/MTV
Unplugged/05-Intro.flac". The LMS-Bliss interaction expects
"/srv/mediaserver/music/Queensrÿche/MTV Unplugged/05-Intro.flac" if I
understood you correctly, but the actual file path as seen by LMS is
"/srv/mediaserver/music/USB Drives/UP_Music/Queensrÿche/MTV
Unplugged/05-Intro.flac", which of course can't be found.
I've just set LMS to use "/srv/mediaserver/music/USB Drives/UP_Music" as
music folder. I'll let you know after the clear and rescan if it's
solved.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2022-12-13 Thread Verulam

Philippe,

Thanks for your ongoing help with this.

I have upgrade to 2.1.10 this morning, and started to have problems with
a playlist of FLACs as the FLACs would end early, with the next track
playing. This occured with both streaming set to normal and underrun.
However, there was no consitent behaviour, with the only message in the
log stating that one track had stopped and another began. So I was not
sure whether it was a bridge problem,
an issue with LMS reading the FLAC files from my hard drive, or a fault
in my network.

This problem was solved by changing from no transcode, to transcoding in
FLAC.

I thought it might be useful posting this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2022-12-13 Thread oliverbg1

I've found the problem.

One thing I missed is that the 3.5.4 version of ser2net I used to build
my pcp extension does not have the famous uucp locking. So I'll try to
build with an option that, in my mind, make the extension unstable. I
downgrade to ser2net 3.5.1 with the -u option and It works perfectly!
I will now test the 3.5.4 without the uucp locking option.

Sorry for disturbing..

And so many thanks for this great plugin let me use my old Denon like a
new one !

Yes, at the top you should be able to delete the account(s), then add
them back again.

That look like it is the device which is trying to get the token, and
not the server.

You can't. It's all handled by the server. Therefore I rather believe
that the account information used for those devices might be invalid.

Like this?

Code:

franck@LMS:~$
"/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/i386-linux/spotty-x86_64"
 -v -n "Squeezebox" -c "/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/spotty/75" -i
"c595ad1" --disable-discovery --scope
"user-read-private,user-follow-modify,user-follow-read,user-library-read,
user-library-modify,user-top-read,user-read-recently-played,user-read-playback-state,user-modify-playback-state,playlist-read-private,playlist-read-collaborative,playlist-modify-public,playlist-modify-private"
 --save-token "/tmp/z0NVMyDwIZ"

It do nothing. And the content of the tmp file is the same.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2022-12-13 Thread oliverbg1

Hello Sam,

Thanks for your reply. I'm thinking like you...
My ser2net bridge ip address is the one you can see in the logs.

My question is, do you have any known about any change in logitech media
server side which made your plugin works differently ? Can you confirm
that your plugin have the same behavior in lms 8.x ?

Many thanks Sam.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] piCorePlayer spams with DNS requests

2022-12-13 Thread DYmR*

Sorry for the inconvenience, the problem was not with the piCorePlayer
itself, but with a muting script that I still have running.

There I have temporarily entered the IP instead of the hostname and
since then is silence with the DNS requests.

2022-12-13 Thread Michael Herger

What if you run that command from your log in a shell (replacing the
 with your client ID)?

Which one? the one in the log?

Yes.

It return nothing, and that is the content of the /tmp file :

Code:

 franck@LMS:~$ cat /tmp/z0NVMyDwIZ
   {"error":"Failed to create session or connect to servers."}

Hmm... what if you added "-v" to the list of parameters?
