Does anyone have any feedback on how well this worked?

I've got a minor update pending which resolves a couple of issues but
wanted to check people were not experiencing major problems.

Upgrade was flawless for me on 7.3.1 on CentOS - good work :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with flac and Inguz in 7.3

2008-12-03 Thread AndyWright

I managed to get this working by altering the custom.convert file in
InguzEQs plugin directory.

I ended up with something like this;

flc flc * 00:04:20:xx:xx:xx
[flac] -dcs --totally-silent -- $FILE$ | [InguzDSP] -id 00:04...
etc -wav -wavo -d 24 | [flac] -cs -0 --totally-silent -

you can also edit Plugin.pm - scroll down to the bottom to the
templates section and alter the flc-flc sections. Delete your
custom-convert.conf, restart SC, add your players (Inguz will recreate
custom-convert.conf with the details for each player) and restart SC
again.

Works fine on mine, not sure if it's the 'correct' way but works until
a newer version comes out

Andy.

You don't need any plugins to run the iPeng application on the iPhone.
Having said that, it won't stop the application from working.

You need to make sure the phone has a connection to your wireless
network and has got a valid IP address. Tap Settings, Wi-Fi. You should
see your wireless network's name listed with a tick next to it. Tap the
Right-Arrow icon to the right of this and look at the IP address. Going
by what you posted it should look something like 10.0.1.xxx

What happens if you tap one of the icons at the bottom (Artists, Albums

I vote Native too - and for those that want the 'extra' functionality
then the 0.5 Skin is already good.

My functionality is done so far but I've got a few glitches to work
around, still, some of them feel like in the early days of web
development (e.g. image fixups to statically size elements on a page
and prevent 'em from collapsing from time to time, feels like CSS never
 got invented...)

 Please be patient...

Just loaded 0.5 - yay!! no 2-finger scrolling :) Nice one !

Off for a play :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce]: iPeng 0.4 iPhone / iTouch plugin

2008-07-11 Thread AndyWright

Looking forward to trying out the new version :) Got a new iPhone today
(minus the phone - O2 still haven't managed to activate the Sim !).

Tried the existing iPeng with the phone and it looks like something
changed with the 2.0 software - pages with multiple screens, like Now
Playing, scroll to the leftmost screen and refuse to be scrolled
rightwards.

Might be my imagination, but the rendering speed looks a little faster
on the iPhone than on my iPod.

Cheers,
Andy.

Gimme another day, have to fix some issues with the DnD...

That's the new Software. It's considerably faster than the old one. But
 it's also considerably buggy :-(

Yeah their servers seem to have had a hard day ! Aparently a lot of
people have bricked their phones by loading the 2.0 software and then
being unable to reactivate the phone :(

Good to hear the new software's faster :) Less good to hear it's
buggy !

When you get yours working, try the Shazam application - it 'listens'
to a clip of any music you're playing and identifies it. I haven't
managed to catch it out yet - brilliant !

The rumour you mentioned on your website about iPod touch / iPhone
being a remote controller for iTunes turned out to be true - how does
it feel to have Apple copying you ? ;-)

A quick note to say wow ! I've just spent the evening rebuilding my

it's a while since I last tried it and it's brilliant !

Love how it just works with some of the plugins like AlienBBC and
MusicIP - great work :)

Looking forward to July 11th! I sent a donation earlier but wasn't sure
how much to send - do you have a guideline? Anyone else care to comment
on how much they're giving ?

Cheers,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC Beta 5 and SC 7.0 - 16373

2008-01-17 Thread AndyWright

Hi,

after running SS 6.5 SVN for quite some time I thought I'd have a look
at SC 7 - what an improvement :)

Having a spot of bother getting Alien BBC working though. I have the
Lazy Search plugin installed and working ok, so I'm assuming I'm
dropping the plugins into the right directory
(/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins - this is SymLinked to
/var/lib/squeezecenter/Plugins) I'm running this on CentOS 4 Linux. SC
was installed from RPM

Alien appears in the list of plugins and is enabled, and also appears
under Internet Radio on the menus, however its icon seems to be missing
- I just get a musical note icon. Clicking on that icon returns an empty
page.

If I click Settings on the Plugins tab I again get an empty page and
the following error in server.log;

Slim::Web::HTTP::_generateContentFromFile (2313) Error: file error - :
not found

Given that the Lazy Search plugin works ok I'm not sure where to look
next - any ideas anyone ?

Cheers,
Andy.
