I now get tokens as follows Security tokens available (Expires Wednesday, December 4, 2024 5:49 pm and Wednesday, December 4, 2024 5:49 pm) and guess what, BBC Sounds is working again. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty - "Spotify credentials missing" every day
Pleased to say that I have managed to solve this problem by updating to Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 - 1613284924 I still have no idea what the problem was. Every night, overnight, Spotty would stop working and LMS would need a restart. Since the upgrade it has been working for 5 days solid. Also all my attempts to extract the log file from "/var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log (100, 500, 1000 lines, everything, ZIP archive)" failed with a file of 0kb. Now all those links in Settings/Information are working correctly too. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty - "Spotify credentials missing" every day
Michael I have sent you the log file, I did this by copying the "Debug Info" from the Max2Play interface. I hope this is what you want. Actually this morning my whole Max2Play/Pi set up was frozen/crashed, so I had to do a hard reset. Then just now after sending you the first log file I tried Spotty, expecting it to be working after the restart, but got my normal morning error message, so I restarted SB server and it is now working ok. The log file has a few more entries on so sending you a second one. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty - "Spotify credentials missing" every day
Every day for the last 2 weeks Spotty fails with a "Spotify credentials missing" message The first time it happened I created another Client ID, restarted LMS and it was working again . until the next day. I changed back to the old ID, restarted LMS and it was working again. Then I found that I just need to restart LMS leaving the Client ID the same, and it works again . until the next day. I am not aware of any changes to my system which caused this to start happening. It happens overnight when the system is not in use. I am running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.3 - 1591161343 and Spotty 4.4.7 on Max2Play. Perhaps the following may help? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.4 - more personalised content
Like others my access to Spotify via LMS and Spotty has been very poor and patchy for the last few weeks. Having read through the last few pages I am still confused if I need to do, or indeed can do anything to improve things. My symptoms are as follows - I get an error message about a token, after trying this several times I get through to the normal top level menu list - If I select Artist I sometimes get an error message, but after a few attempts I get my list of Artists - When I select an Artist I often get an Empty message again, if I keep trying I can sometimes get a list of Albums. Often albums for some artists are loaded, while others remain stubbornly empty - Then if I select an Album sometimes it plays, sometimes not - The above is just an example, other options are often empty and fail to play, e.g. Podcasts, Genre play lists etc It used to be rock solid, can we expect to get back to that. Is there anything I can do? I have updated to 4.4.4 Nojelc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14353 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112962 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Erlands commercial plugins available for free
As the problem was first reported very recently it occurred to me that it must have been introduced recently too, and 7.9.0 has been around for a while. My max2play is happy with 7.9.0 so I tried that and yipee - it does implement Custom Browse OK. So if anyone else has this problem just go back to 7.9.0 and you should be OK. Phew! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Hi can someone please give me a summary/the big picture on what is happening with Spotify, Triodes plugin and SB devices. There is so much highly specific stuff in multiple threads that I cannot see the wood for the trees. I have multiple SB devices and have used Spotify via Triodes plugin for years with no problem. Recently I have been travelling and have used my Spotify account on my Android phone. Back home now and I cannot get Spotify to work on my SB devices, all the menus seem to work normally but when I try to play I get "Connection timed out". Initially I thought this may be due to me having used my Spotify account with my Android device recently. But 2 days later with no access to Spotify from any other device it is still not working. So: - should Spotify still work via Triodes plugin - if so is it going to stop working at some point - and if it shoud be working why am I getting "Connection timed out". Can anyone help with getting an Odroid/Max2Play set up working with a VPN router? I want VPN to improve security, but also to access geo-blocked content via Kodi. I purchased my router a DSL-AC68U because I wanted to get all devices on the network to operate over VPN. The router advertising blurb says that it will do this. e.g. -"The ASUSWRT VPN feature provides VPN access to all devices in a home network without having to install VPN software on each device.- I have the router and all of my devices connected and working as normal in non-VPN mode. My devices are 2 x Windows 10 PCs iPad Odroid U3 running Max2Play Smart TV Sony Bravia Vortexbox appliance Media Server and NAS When I open a VPN connection the 2 x Windows 10 PCs and the iPad continue to work as expected. However non of the other devices work, non of them play any media. I can access the internet and browse the menus, but when I try to play something I just get an error message saying that the content failed to play e.g TV via Kodi, internet radio, Spotify on my Squeezeboxes. Absolutely nothing plays over VPN If I close the VPN connection on the router everything is back to normal and playing OK. I have tried ASUS support but the guy appeared to be clutching at straws - had I tried port forwarding? had a tried DDNS etc. All gobeldegook to me so no idea how to set these up. e.g. what port would Odroid/Max2Play need in order to work. Any clues anyone? Yes, I have a paid VPN service, it works very well using OpenVPN client on my PC and iPad. The Router also connects using OpenVPN just fine, and I can use my PC and iPad over VPN running the VPN client on the router, not on the device itself. So in most respects everything is just fine. It just does not work at all on Max2play/Odroid, Bravia TV or VBA, and I do not have a clue why, or whether there is anything I can do to get it going, or if I am wasting my time trying. The publicity about the router certainly gives the impression that all devices on the network that connect to the Internet will work over VPN once a connection has been set up - but not so - yet! Okay I want to apply this patch, but I have no idea how to do it. I run LMS in to Linux environments Max2Play and Vortexbox, so no windows type GUI and I am a complete numpte at Linux commands! Where in the directory structure is the file that needs to be replaced? Given time I can probably hack my way through the Linux commands necessary to do it, but any help with pointers on how to do that would be much appreciated. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
I have been running Spotify Premium on my various SBs via the Triode plug in for about 3 years, and have got used to rock solid performance. However recently it has been pretty damn flaky, various errors come and go with no explanation. I have had bad player, bad gateway and various other messages appear then go again without me changing anything. Other times it just does not play and gives no error message, then an hour later it is playing fine again. I always get a list of albums for the Artist and artwork, so the connection is there, but nothing actually plays. Other internet radio options like BBC and Radio Paradise play fine, so I do not think it is my local connection. Current location is Norway, anyone else having problems? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Flysurfer, just a small point for you to consider for a future release. Anyone using M2P for audio only, i.e. LMS and/or player, should be able to do everything headless via your GUI and their normal LMS controller/app. However I did have one small glitch in setting up my audio system as I want it that required me to access the odroid direct. One of my LMS plugins is Custom Browse, it enables me to tailor my menus to work as I want them e.g. access classical music via Composer and everything else via Artist. However when setting up my menus I had an error because I did not have write access to the odroid folders, not even odroid/public. I managed to find out where to set folder permissions and set them to anyone. Then I was OK and could use the other PC to set up my menus and save the files. As LMS is clearly designed for headless operation I think you should set all permissions to anyone by default. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Thanks flysurfer - that worked OK. After restart the video on the GUI start page played no problem from my odroid, with audio. In order to get complete media centre functionality from the odroid and Max2Play (something I never dreamed would be possible when I purchased it, I just wanted an LMS server) then good smooth reliable playback in Chrome or Firefox would be necessary. To access BBC iPlayer it is necessary to go via a browser. I can now play video but playback is choppy and there is no sound. Unfortunately there is no XBMC add-on for iPlayer (yet... perhaps one is coming?) I tried a programme from NRK (Norway) again no sound and choppy video. The same programme via XBMC, which does have a NRK add-on, was much better quality, and audio - very good indeed. So XBMC is clearly the best player. Would it be possible to have a Firefox or Chrome add-on which added files to the XBMC playlist, that would be a great solution. Finally managed this, and just before flysurfers post above. I installed 7.8 nightly, getting a version of 7.8.1. Then on applying the plugins and clicking OK to the you need to restart LMS message it did a restart. After about a minute LMS came back up with all my plugins activated. Sorry, but complete nob question here. I am only venturing outside Windows for the first time. I have purchased an Odroid U3 with a view to using it to run LMS (which I have been using for years with various players and windows and VB based players) I have a 8GB SD card. I have formatted this with SDformatter. I now have an empty card with 7.41GB I have downloaded Max2Play which arrived as Max2Play-Ubuntu-14-EMMC-SD-13102014 a RAR file, downloaded WinRAR and unpacked it, then had a 7.6GB disk image file. So what next. How do I get this file onto my SD card? Do I need to use a special programme to flash the card? If so which, or should I just be able to copy the disk image file to my formatted SD card with windows explorer. I have tried that but get the message that the card is too small, obviously the 7.6 file is bigger than 7.41 card. Has my formatting reduced the capacity of the card somehow? Did I screw up on some parameters? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
This is driving me potty. I have been running LMS on 2 servers and using a number of players for years without problems. I use the iPlayer and Spotify plugins. My problem is that now I cannot get Spotify to play on any of my 3 servers. All three say that the helper app is not running. PC1 is running an old install of 7.7.3, no changes have been made for some time, it has been running perfectly for probably 2 years. PC2 is running 7.8, just loaded. VBA just updated to vb2.3, had a few problems (thanks garym for helping me on the VB forum) On PC1 today my Norton objected to what spotifyd.exe was doing and quaranteened it. On PC2 the helper app is not running, spotify will not play On VBA the helper app is not running, spotify will not play I have set everything else up as normal, my music and iPlayer and internet radio play as normal. Why on earth would Spotify be screwed up on all 3 machines, all with the helper app not running. Clearly Norton did something on PC1 but how could that effect the other 2? On both my SBC and my Android phone I can set these 3 up as the first 3 menu items at the top level - perfect. However in Ipeng Spotify is under Apps, IPlayer does not appear at all, and I get all the standard menus that I do not use at the top of the menu list, which is what I might expect as a default (except IPlayer missing) but I cannot find out how to change anything. I have now restarted 10+ times but CB never appears and whenever I select the plugins tab in Settings I keep getting prompted to restart to apply changes - again and again! It is like it recognises that changes need to be applied but it can never do it. How do I clear this? Custom Browse has now dissapeared from all of the plug in lists. i.e. installed, available to be installed etc. -- Nojelc Nojelc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14353 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77993 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems installing Custom Browse
Sorry, but I am struggling with this on. My PC is running Vista and the customer plug ins folder for Vista is defined as :\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Plugins I have that folder, but it is empty. No Iplayer plug in, that I have installed, and no old Custom Browse stuff that may be preventing the install of Custom Browse via the extensions downloader, and that is only a guess. Where else might I look? -- Nojelc Nojelc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14353 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77993 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze will not play WMA
I have installed SoftSqueeze on a PC on my network. This is not the PC that runs SC, that is on a Vortexbox Appliance. Everything is working fine except that I cannot play WMA files. The Wiki says Support for Ogg Vorbis, WMA and AAC by transcoding in SqueezeCenter. - but it does not seem to be doing it. I have had a thorough trawl around but I cannot find anyway of enabling this. Any clues anyone on how I get get this working? -- Nojelc Nojelc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14353 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72341 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Calling Custom Browse users - how do YOU select music from the Controller?
Following total silence from my last posting http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63738 I am trying a different tack because I am genuinely puzzled by this. I have a lot of music in all genres, about half of it is classical. When selecting classical music I want to select by Composer. The standard menu does not allow you to do this and composer get muddled up with a very long list of Artists which is pretty horrible to deal with. So I installed Custom Browse and set up the menus I wanted. I was very happy with the way it all looked, especially Composer by Letter - excellent. I was also looking forward to getting to grips with all the facilities for creating bespoke menus. However then the problem appears. I can only play individual tracks from the Controller, the play all option at album level does not work. It does work when used from the Custom Browse menu within SqueezeCentre. Having done a bit more research I find that this has been reported a bug, but it only has a low priority. http://code.google.com/p/erlandplugins/issues/detail?id=63q=label%3APlugin-CustomBrowsecolspec=ID%20Plugin%20Type%20Status%20Priority%20Milestone%20ReportedBy%20Summary Custom Browse is obviously a fantastic bit of software, with great power and flexibility, with many satisfied users. So this lack of a facility to play an album from the Controller is seemingly not an issue for most users. So my question is this. How do YOU select your music with Custom Browse if not by Album? Am I old fashioned in still wanting to select by Album, is there a better way? Is there a way of playing an album from the Controller with Custom Browse that I have not found yet? (I have checked play all songs in selected album in Custom Browse settings) Looking forward to a bit of help on this. -- Nojelc Nojelc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14353 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63892 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Ohh - thanks Pippin. As simple as that er! I thought I had given the documentation a thorough going over but I obviously skipped over a few basics. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse - Play All for Album
I have just installed Custom Browse. The main functionality I want is to select and play by Composer. Following installation I set up the Composer menu and everything displays fine. However after selecting the album I want the Play All option on the Controller does not work - it just does that little sideways jink. I can select and play individual tracks but not the whole album. I have rescanned my library. I have checked play all songs in selected album in Custom Browse settings. - The same action in Custom Browse in SC works fine. - The same action on the Controller in normal menu works fine I am using Version: 7.3.2 - 24695 and Controller firmware 7.3 r3993 -- Nojelc Nojelc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14353 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63738 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
