Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay Bridge - can not play to Apple TV with HomePod Minis as default output

Yes - I have done exactly the same before (and it worked), but I really do
not like the redundant players. It would be great if I could hide players
by e.g. starting the name with a dot.

The idea is essentially to control an Apple Music session via LMS (and
therefore have very similar features as the other online music plugins like
Spotify, Qobuz) while streaming the sound from the Apple Music via Shairtunes
to LMS.

I am aware, that they are different beasts, but the question is, how easy is it
to setup Home Assistant to fi=unction ONLY as s bridge to HomeKit. I assume, it
will be a bit of work, after reading this….

I am have a home bridge plugin, which I use to switch the players on (from a
hue dimmer switch in one case) and I also controlled the volume with. So it
works - but I do not know why and from time to time the plugin crashes which
stops the complete home bridge system…

If anybody is interested in contributing to the plugin, you are welcome.

Ideal would be a plugin for LMS, which provides the integration to HomeBridge...

Cheers,

Rainer

That is what I am doing at the moment, AirPlay Bridge to Libratone Zip Mini 2
speakers - works nicely, no problems there.

The question is: I will have two HomePods, paired as a stereo. Can the AirPlay
bridge stream to these two as stereo? If yes, one problem is solved.

But there remains the question of controlling the playback using Siri from the
HomePod - I will try it out in about a weeks time.

OK - that explains. But streaming from a running Music session on a Mac (or in
a browser?) using AirPlay to LMS should work. The question: could one control
that Music session from LMS? As a kind of a remote control, which should be
allowed?

That answers my question - if it does not add any new features (e.g. streaming
to a pair of AirPlay 2 speakers paired as stereo), there is no need to
implement AirPlay 2. Actually - I could always stream to the AppleTv via
AirPlay, which than sends the sound to the HomePods which are paired for
stereo… Interesting.

Thanks a gain for your answers,

Rainer

The same happened to me some time ago… Good to hear, that I am not alone.

Would it be possible to display a warning in the settings window of the bridge,

Like true - but the browser could run in the background - or even a headless

Under Linux, there are “virtual sound cards”

which could be used to pipe the sound from anything to LMS, I would assume,
and I assume there are similar things for Windows and on the Mac.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Apple Music integration - via MusicKit JS?

Hi

I was browsing around and I found the following:

From https://developer.apple.com/documentation/musickitjs/ :

MusicKit JS lets users play songs from Apple Music and their Cloud Library
inside your JavaScript app. When a user provides permission to access their
Apple Music account, your JavaScript app can create playlists, add songs to
their library, and play any of the millions of songs in the Apple Music catalog
directly in a browser, with no additional plugins.

Couldn’t this be a way of integrating LMS and Apple Music? A JavaScript app
which is a broker between LMS and Apple Music, and plays the music in LMS?

Unfortunately, I am not at all knowledgable in JavaScript to implement
something myself,

Rainer

I remembered, that I wanted to have ssh and samba appear in the Bonjour clients

But this did not work.

You nailed it. I had the avahi extension installed in piCorePlayer. Deleted it,
and it is working.

I can now see LMS and Main, i.e. all shairport players as AirPlay devices.

I am missing LMS, which is enabled and a piCorePlayer (on the same machine 5.0
I think) and the Main, which is a group player (I added the Group Player plugin
after it did not make a difference after uninstalling it).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Upgrade of AirPlay Bridge for AirPlay 2?

2019-10-21 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

Are there any plans on supporting AirPlay 2 with AirPlay Bridge and shairport?
As I guess that the number of IarPlay 2 only speakers / receivers will
increase, it would be useful to have it in the Bridge?

Thanks,

Rainer

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay Bridge - Volume settings - sometimes starting extremely loud, sometimes silent

2019-07-05 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I Have a Libratone Zip mini 2 and a Yamaha receiver, both AirPlay 2. Sometimes,
when I start playing to either, the sound is extremely loud (mainly on the
receiver) or nearly silent. It occurred only when the players were in standby,
and not when they were on.

Is there a setting I could adjust to avoid this?

Thanks,

Rainer

An option to download them during the Library scan (as with the artist images)?

OK - that is the sync from LMS which uses Airplay 1

OK. This Airplay 2 sync is available from all apps with the checkboxes.

So the bridge is using Airplay 1. Which works fine with many receivers (Zipp,
Yamaha) which have Airplay 1 + 2, but not with others, (Sonos?) which have only
Airplay 2?

Any plans of upgrading the bridge to Airplay 2? I assume, that there will be,
over time, more devices coming out which only support Airplay 2?

Cheers,

Rainer

But isn’t the sync to multiple airplay speakers (The round circles which can be
checked) from any app an Airplay 2 feature? That is what I have for the Yamaha
receiver and the Zipp mini and what I have already used.

So the the bridge needs AirPlay 1 to be available to use AirPlay 2?

Are there any plans to make the bridge also compatible with Airplay 2 speakers
without Airplay 1?

Thanks,

I have a Librtone Zip Mini and run it together with my Yamaha receiver (both
AirPlay 2) without major problems, synched via LMS and separate, both works.
Sometimes the volume was either completely off or really high when starting,
but not during the lat weeks.

So AirPlay 2 works very nicely for me.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS and Siri?

2019-04-14 Thread Rainer M Krug
After seeing another message about the Alexa integration of LMS:

is there anything happening / possible to integrate LMS with Siri to be able to
use voice control (I still have hope)?

What about the home bridge integration of LMS? I found

and

https://github.com/nriley/homebridge-mysqueezebox

An experiences?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Control via sirs / Siri shortcuts (Peng support for Siri shortcuts?)

2018-11-21 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

Now that we have Siri shortcuts in iOS, is there a chance that I could control
the players via Siri? A start would be play/pause/stop, volume up and down,
switch off.

Anybody done this already?

Along these lines, would it be possible to include these shortcuts in Peng?

Cheers,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Last Mix works on Pogoplug E02!

2017-01-30 Thread Rainer M Krug
I upgraded my LMS server, which runs on a Pogoplug E02 (see
https://rmkrug.wordpress.com/2016/06/16/pogoplug-logitech-media-server-time-capsule/
for details), by giving it a new USB Flash drive (SanDisk Ultra Fit 16
GB USB Flash Drive USB 3.0 bis zu 130MB/s) and what a surprise: it works
MUCH better - even LastMix with Qobuz backend works smooth! With the old
Transcend flashdrive it was not usable.

Thanks a lot Michael for this great plugin,

I had the same question some time ago - it was recommended to save the
album as playlist and to put the playlist into favourites. Very
unsatisfying in deed.

Sorry - you lost me. I want to play from my iPhone on my Macbook -
what do amps and DAC have to do with this (but thanks for the link - I
will look into them for another purpose).

iPhone -> AirPlay -> lms / ShairTunes -> piCorePlayer : works
iPhone -> AirPlay -> lms / ShairTunes -> squeezelite on Macbook :
doesn't work

I assume it has to do with squeezelite, possibly on the mac.

Otherwise, I can play everything on squeezelite on the mac.

Cheers,

Sure - no extra update needed for this.

OK - makes sense.

But maybe remove the setting to enable / disable DASH as certain
settings are incompatible with the settings in BBCiPlayer?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SOLVED: BBCiPlayerExtra does not play when BASH isenabled

Yes - only "Listen Again" and these in BBCiPlayerExtra - as in
BBCiPlayer I only see the link to the .xml which contains all the shows
presented as a stream and not as different programs (see other post).

Yes - not enabled.

And this is when the "Listen Again" streams are working in
BBCiPlayerExtra.

When I change this to checked box / enabled, the streams do not play
anymore.

SOLVED: I should learn to read!

Could you please make the *not* in *bold* and possibly capital letters
so that it stands out?

Also, make clear that this has to be in accordance with the settings in
BBCiPlayer - I wasn't aware that BBCiPlayerExtra uses BBCiPlayer to play
the streams.

Actually, as you seem to maintain both plugins now, I think it would
make sense to merge these two.

Thanks a lot,

Rainer

The problem seems to be that the xml is not scanned for streams but
shown as a stream.

Live via dash is working nicely here outside UK as well.

Good

I Tried over lunch LastMix (local) and it worked perfectly. I am now
trying the LastMix with Qobuz, and playback of local tracks in the
original playlist even stops when processing (I assume) quobuz searches.

It might also be memory - I realized that the poor pogoplug (256MB) was
running LMS with maximum performance...

Changed it and am restarting LMS.

New test...

While testing, I don't see the options for Don'tStopTheMusic anymore
when using iPeng - before one of the last updates, I think it was there?

Also: I have a large number of Favorites, and all appear in the DSTM
options. Would it be possible to group the Favourites into a submenu or
indent them a bit more so that they are visually separate from the mix
options?

Back to the test...

OK - not working. It is stopping to play at the end, becomes
unresponsive, I have to restart it (if I don't want to wait really
long). I am now using local only again.

Unfortunately I have no other streaming service I could try it with as I
have only a qobuz subscription - so I don't know if it is generally the
powerless computer or qobuz in particular.

But local only is a very nice option!

Cheers,

Rainer

Yup - that happens to me all the time. I am running LMS on a Pogoplug

Thanks - just installed it and it looks nice.

When clicking on "Settings" under Plugins - LastMix it shows the
settings for MusicArtistInfo plugin
(http://LMS:9000/plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/MusicArtistInfo/settings.html)
and I don't see any settings. Is this correct?

Can I specify which online sources should be used?

Cheers,

Exactly - being able to add remote albums into the local collection.

I was thinking about this - this would be absolutely awesome. Especially as
favorites management is not very efficient. I would really love to be able
to add Qobuz albums to my collection!

You have to install it under the item "Upgrade" (If I am not

So to clarify:

1) I can do the *Analysis* from *any MusicIP installation on any server
(server A)* and write the results to the id3tags

2) I can import these results into any other *MusicIP server (server B)*

3) If the server B also runs LMS, I can use the MusicIP plugin to create
mixes.

4) If LMS does *not* run on server B, I can use Spicefly Sugarcube to
create mixes.

5) MusicIP has to run to create mixes in both cases

Is this correct?

Thanks,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Spicefly SugarCube] MusicIP can be on different server?

2016-06-09 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

Just to confirm: If I use the Spicefly SugarCube plugin for MusicIP, the
MusicIP server (headless) can be on a different computer - but when I
use the LMS MusicIP, it has to be on the same - is this correct?

I am asking, because having the MusicIP server on the same server as my
LMS is not an option for me as the LMS runs on an ARM architecture based
server on which MusicIP does not run.

Thanks,

Rainer

So I can't use MusicIP when my LMS is on a non x86-CPU as the MusicIP
server needs to be on the same machine as the LMS? Is this correct? Or
is there a way of having the server on a different machine?

This would use (under Linux) presumably a MiP headless installation -
correct? And the writing of the id to the tags, is done from MiP headless?

On the computer on which LMS is running, you can than use genpuid to
re-create the MiP database.

But I still have to install MiP headless on the LMS machine - correct?
And is this possible as this is an ARM architecture?

I would very much like to keep the LMS on the small Pogoplug, as I can
leave it on 24/7 without using to much energy.

I have my LMS on a Pogoplug E02 (ARMv5te) running Debian and obviously
can not analyse my tracks on it.

But I have a notebook whci I could use for the analysis.

Is it possible to

1) install the MusicIP server on ARMv5te architecture so that it *only*
functions as a server for LMS and

2) analyse my tracks on the notebook (Uduntu) and move the database to
the Pogoplug running the LMS server?

Thanks,

Rainer

Thanks - should have looked there...

Deleted then, restarted, still the same. On ickStream and in the Qobuz
app, all favourites are present.

Hm. Any suggestions?

Thanks - I found this one, but these seem to be the settings, and not
where I can define, start, stop,... a timer - Under Extras, I can't see
a Menu.

But it doesn't work with softsqueeze as you said.

I installed the KitchenTimer plugin on the LMS but what now? How can I
set timers? Can I use it with squeezelite players, as I have only these?

I can't find an menu entry.

I have found the import - but how can I export a favorites folder?

Also, I did not try it, but does the import imports into a new folder,
or replaces all existing favorites?

I would prefer not to, as I would like to have them as a separate menu
item (preferably under Radios).

Also, in a plugin, I could more easily reload them in a new
installation.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SImple plugin for JazzRadio.fr - template available?

2016-05-10 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I want to write a simple plugin which provides the webradios from
jazzradio.fr.

As I have no experience with perl and no experiences with plugins for
LMS (although quite some experience with other languages), I am looking
for a template I could start with to implement the plugin.

The streaming urls are static, but I would prefer a plugin instead of
favorites folder, as all would be grouped nicely together.

Any suggestions for a nice and simple plugin I could use as a template
for this?

Thanks,

Rainer

As far as I heard is this matching based on meta date pone of the major
features of Roon. Would be great, if some of this cross-linking would
come to LMS.

Also along these lines, if one could select which one of these
crosslinks to play next - so not an automatic playlist generation, but a
manual selection as well.

Cheers,

I gave up for the moment, as it seems my Pogoplug can not handl;e the

It was definitely more that=n 15 minutes.

But now after restarting LMS (probably unrelated), it was there
immediately.

Yup - here it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freebox

After it appeared, I could play to it easily. Just have to figure out
the delay if I want to syn it.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [AirPlay Bridge] Device detected but not shown in LMS web interface

2016-03-31 Thread Rainer M Krug

Hi

LMS Version:
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1458287071 @ Fri Mar 18 08:02:45 UTC 2016

AirPlay Brige Plugin Version: v0.1.5

I installed AirPlay Bridge and it installed fine, created the confix=g
file, started the squeeze2raop bridge and found one AirPlay device.

Settings see screenshot at
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fj22tugnh07e3cq/Screenshot%202016-03-31%2010.23.01.png?dl=0

But the Freebox-Server does not show in the Devices selector in the LMS
web interface (I waited several minutes).

Any suggestions what I should check?

Thanks,

Rainer

OK - I just changed the setting to Maximum as effectively nothing else
is running on the pogoplug.
I didn't change it as I thought it depends on the memory installed - and
not the memory available (number of other processes).

OK - let's see if it improves.

True - but the music on the LMS server on the notebook is on the
Pogoplug, shared via NFS share.

Let's see if it is faster now,

Well - as I said, I am running LMS on a rather low powered Pogoplug E02
and it works, but everything is slowish. So there is no particular
aspect I would like to make faster, but in general.

One reason why I am running a second instance on an old notebook when
needed is when syncing two players: the syncing of players seems to be
rather slow on the Pogoplug compared to the old notebook.

Scanning is obviously slow, but I do not scan that often so it doesn't
bother me.

Cheers,

Rainer

Got it working - I think "install CPAN:Meta" did the job, and than
"install YAML".

There is nothing else to do? Do I have to restart the LMS server? Change
settings?

Is there anything else I could compile to make LMS faster (Installed
From .deb file)?

Thanks,

Rainer

OK - looks easy. Trying it.

I have never used perl before - so apologies if this is basic.

Problem:

I have to install YAML before, and I get many of these errors on the

Is there any alternative which works better with Qobuz?

OK - that explains this.

Any chance of making the binary?

OK - Disabled it and will see how it goes. The search is definitely
faster now.

Thanks - but as it seems to be "expected" behaviour, the logs won't
help.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Smart Mix plugin] - heavy on resources or problem with Qobuz?

2016-03-24 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I wanted to use the Smart Mix plugin and it works with local music.

But as soon as I add Qobuz (only streaming provider I subscribed to),
not anymore.
When I select e.g. Classic Rock, it starts showing playing progress on
the web interface of the LMS, but I can't hear anything. Some time later
(30 seconds?) it starts playing (sometimes) and only adds 4 tracks (or nothing).

This is on a Pogoplug:

,
| Architecture
| ARMv5te
| Processor
| Marvell Kirkwood 1.2GHz
| RAM
| 256MB
| NAND
| 128MB
| USB
| 4
| Ethernet
| Gigabit
`

I tried installing LMS on a laptop and activated Smart Mix and Qobuz and
my Music, and there it worked.

Therefore my question:

Is Smart Mix plugin heavy on resource usage? Or is something else wrong?
Are there any logs I could look into or send here?

Thanks,

Rainer

Thanks - but 95% is a github pages template - I have just used is as a
proof of concept.

OK - I created a test site at:

http://rkrug.github.io/LMS-test/

The middle buttons give examples of downloading a binary from

http://rkrug.github.io/LMS-test/downloads/

http://rkrug.github.io/LMS-test/downloads/index.html contains the
listing of the binaries.

The left button takes you to the github.com version of the site,
i.e. where the files are.

I am happy to put more on there for testing.

THE BINARIES ARE NOT FOR USAGE!

Cheers,

Rainer
