I also have a couple of the older 8.0.0 packages in case those are > needed) Thank you!!! I've downloaded the LMS v8.1.1 from the link you have shared and it has installed perfectly on my DS218+. I was able to upgrade directly from LMS 8.0.0 to 8.1.1. It is now clear that the latest 8.1.1 update file on Pinkdot official repository is corrupt... hence why the installation was not working properly for many users on the forum, most likely all those that like me have finally decided to update to the latest Pinkdot LMS quite a few months after its initial release in January. All is fine now! Hopefully Pinkdot will read these posts and he will be able to replace the corrupt file on his repository with the correct one. Did you install it as an update available within Package Center (through configuration of the community repositories), or was the 8.0.1 package downloaded separately and manually installed? Should the 1st option be the upgrade process you followed, I guess I will be out of luck in retrieving the 8.0.1 file... By the way, did you manage to update to the latest 8.1.1. or get any info on why the installation is aborted on some NAS? Thank you! I'm failing to find the installation file... it looks like it's no longer available anywhere, even on Pinkdot's official repository. Was LMS 8.0.1 released by Pinkdot or maybe someone else? On a different note, the latest LMS 8.1.1 does not install on my DS218+, even after updating to the latest DSM 6.2.4! However, it looks like that at some point in time a version 8.0.1 for x86_64 based systems was indeed released, as follows: LogitechMediaServer-x86_64-8.0.1-1607087403.spk However, the above version is not available on the official Pinkdot repository (https://pinkdot.myds.me/sspks/?fulllist=true) Additionally, I'm still not able to update to the latest 8.1.1 build, which cannot be installed on my DS218+, since I still get an error message about an alleged incompatibility with the current DSM version. Not sure why this is happening hence why I was trying to locate the file for the small update (possibly just a bug fix release?) to the 8.0.1 version. Any hints/advices? I've read many posts referring to Pinkdot's LMS 8.0.1... now, I'm wondering whether it's an oversight on my part that makes me believe that I'm now on 8.0.0, although I'm pretty sure that the version I've installed yesterday is exactly the following: Version: 8.0.0 - 1605892076 @ Fri Nov 20 18:28:44 CET 2020 So, does it means that there's also an intermediate version 8.0.1. available, which was possibly released before the latest 8.1.1 that we cannot successfully install? If that is the case, through which channels it was released, since I could only retrieve the LMS Update 8.0.0 - 1605892076 from the official repository? Anyway, let's hope to get some details on the reason why the installation of LMS 8.1.1. does not go through on our systems even more so considering that you took the "extra mile" and also installed DSM 6.2.4 with no positive results! Running DSM 6.2.3 and Perl still 6.24... > any information about whats happened? > > Best regards > > Michael Hi! I've just gone through some maintenance updates on My Synology DS218+ yesterday! I was still running a quite dated DSM version (6.2.2 Update 6), with a lot of notifications also for packages pending update, including Perl. I never enable auto-updates on any of my devices, since I always prefer to read the release notes, etc. so it was quite easy and an immediate catch to read the warning about the dropped compatibility of the latest Perl with LMS. Since I was at it, I started to venture into a sequence of very long system/app updates paying due diligence to avoiding the Perl one. On top of that, I was still on the "official" Synology beta version 7.9.1 of LMS... so I though it would be just the perfect timing to move on to a more up-to-date revision of LMS for my x86_64 based DS218+. I immediately tried upgrading to the very latest LMS Update 8.1.1 but the process did not complete and I got the very same error message saying that it was not compatible with the DSM version installed on my system (initially 6.2.2 Update 6, but the same error continued to show up with DSM 6.2.3 Update 3). At that stage, I only assume it may be possibly due to the fact that I was updating straight from LMS 7.9.1 (Synology beta) to Pinkdot's latest 8.1.1. so I decided to try with the most immediate last available version and went ahead with downloading it from the official repository. It worked like a charm and LMS was correctly updated to the following version: Version: 8.0.0 - 1605892076 @ Fri Nov 20 18:28:44 CET 2020 However, it was already 2:15 in the night and I told myself it was probably wise to go to bed with a success and be happy about it, rather than trying again updating to 8.1.1. I'm not home yet, but I'd like to try again later if I can succeed updating LMS from 8.0.0 - 1605892076 to the latest 8.1.1. Is the LMS version currently on your Synology already the v.8.x.x, or were you also trying updating from a previous v7.9.x release? I will have to try again this evening, if it still does not work, I may first try updating the DS218+ to DSM 6.2.4 and see if the error message was actually due to the fact that LMS 8.1.1. can only be installed on DSM 6.2.4. Meanwhile, maybe some other users on the forum (or Pinkdot himself) will be able to shed some light on this! For the moment, I'm very happy that I finally give some fresh air to my DS218+ although it is very sad to read about Synology decision to drop the support to LMS! :-( Cheers, Marco Wuthoqquan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111876 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
