[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC App - not working on 7.6

2010-08-09 Thread autopilot

The BBC app is not working for me, just updated to r9028 (running
tinysc) and still no love. Sometimes selecting something does nothing
at all. Sometimes i get to the NP screen where it buffers and appears
to be playing but there is no audio. Same connected to tinysc or
mysb.com. Trying WMA did not help.

Anyone else seeing this? any known fix/work around?

see any errors in the log?

Just done a factory reset. Most of the time the menus work fine and the
NP screen displays all the right things (buffers ok, then artwork for
that show/station, info) but there is just no audio.

It works fine with 7.5.1, I just went back to try 7.6 again because the
scanner in the 7.5.1 misses so much artwork.

One diffence i have noticed running this on my Touch is that the SBS
Plugin gave a full program list under the week days, but the Applet
does not. We do miss this, especially when you are not sure what day a

something.

Small thing but would be great to have it back. Otherwise, top work.

 difference which one is enabled.

Thanks, must be something to do with our different chipset, but at
least i know it possible. Deselecting Only allow management stations
does not work and the server gets constantly woken, by just having the
SB3 query the time etc.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2009-08-12 Thread autopilot

gharris999;447867 Wrote:
I don't think a SB3 actually queries the server for time, although I
assume that it should be sending something along the lines of status
request packets. I don't know enough about the protocol to really say.
The SB3, while it looks like a clock, isn't a clock. I think everything
having to do with time display on the SB3 happens on the server in
SqueezeCenter. The SB3 is just a dumb display, as far as I know. The
Boom, on the other hand, has a RTC and functions like a real clock. I
assume that all future Squeezebox player products will have this
 feature.

But, yes, my experience in configuring NICs to trigger a wakeup on more
permissive conditions has always resulted in too many spurious wakeups.
So I limit my NIC config to magic-packet only.

For windows folks, there is a nice, free command-line magic-packet tool
called wolcmd.exe which you can use in batch files to wake up your
 server:

 http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-cmd.aspx

Here's the batch file I use to launch a SqueezeCenter Chrome app. It
first checks to see if the server responds to a ping and, if it doesn't
 will attempt to WOL it:

 scwakeup.cmd:

Code:

   @echo off
   set SCIP=192.168.0.100
   set BDCSTIP=192.168.0.255
   set SCMAC=AABBCCDDEEFF

   :checkwake
   echo Checking scserver status..
   ping %SCIP% -n 1 -w 10 NUL 21

   if errorlevel 1 goto wakeup
   goto awake

   :wakeup
echo SCServer is asleep...attempting to wake it up..
   %windir%\util\wolcmd.exe %SCMAC% %BDCSTIP% 255.255.255.0 7 NUL 21
   %windir%\util\sleep.exe 17
   goto checkwake

   :awake
   echo SCServer is awake!
   start SC %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
 --app=http://%SCIP%:9000/
   %windir%\util\sleep.exe 3

To use this, fix up the values for the SCIP, BDCSTIP and SCMAC
variables with your particulars. I keep a shortcut to this batch file
on my windows quick-launch tool bar. That way, I never have to
compensate for the server being asleep. Any attempt to visit the
SqueezeCenter web interface via this batchfile will wake the server,
if necessary. The sleep.exe utility referenced in the batch file is a
free utility included in the Windows 2003 server RTK...which is a free
 download from Microsoft.

Thanks, yes i realise the SB3 is not a clock and has no RTC like the
boom, that was a badly worded example. What i mean is it will wake the
server when it tries to contact the server for -anything-. If i switch
the SB3 to SN, then probably not. I would still have to set all my
players to SN at the same time, but even then other devices on my
network can cause it to wake if i set Only allow management stations to
wake this computer, such as my laptop (as soon as i turn it on scanning
for network drives etc will wake it). Basically any packet whatsoever
destined for my server IP will. So it's not really an option for me.

Anyway, sorry for going OT...

audio, no can't connect error, just sits there with the radio title.
If I connect to SN, the radio stations play (same RadioTime presets)...

Same problem here. iPlayer 'listen now' works fine though. The whole
radiotime thing is just annoying now - it's meant to make internet radio
more accessible and reliable, it's worse then ever now.

Whats going on with the BBC feeds anyway? I just cant keep up, they now
seem to be a shocking 48kbps through RadioTime. I'm sure a short while
back they were 96kbps WMA and even MP3.

problem, due it seems (as I understand it) to their Ellacoya bandwidth

prioritising the traffic incorrectly. They are currently working on a
fix that they hope to roll out to their live system in the next couple

Assuming that they are as good as their word I am left stunned by the

 0. Make sure the plugin is installed in the correct directory.
 1. Shut down slimserver, and be sure its dead.
 2. Delete the entire contents of the cache-directory, where
cache-directory is the directory containing among other things the
 FileCache directory.
 3. Start slimserver and rescan.

Maybe thats what you already tried ?

 Bjørn

Yep, done that all a few times.

Well i can confirm that version does not work with 7.0a

I have extracted to C:\Program

but after a restart (and reboot) it's not being seen by Squeeze Center
- nothing relating to Last.FM on the settings menu.

Check your paths and IP address for Slimserver. I used a batch file
which is in the same folder as Softsqueeze so i only had to change the
IP address.

Bit pointles doing it though, unless we can do it without a Command
windows open.

I have PM's Richard, hopfully he can pop in and give some advice when
he is free.

Batch file:

java -Dserver=192.168.0.1 -Dskins=headless -jar Softsqueeze.jar

(Works, but with a command prompt window open)

Shortcut;

%windir%\system32\java.exe -Dserver=192.168.0.1 -Dskins=headless -jar
\Program

(Does not seem to work, but also seems to stop Soft Squeeze working
