[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC App - not working on 7.6
The BBC app is not working for me, just updated to r9028 (running tinysc) and still no love. Sometimes selecting something does nothing at all. Sometimes i get to the NP screen where it buffers and appears to be playing but there is no audio. Same connected to tinysc or mysb.com. Trying WMA did not help. One diffence i have noticed running this on my Touch is that the SBS Plugin gave a full program list under the week days, but the Applet does not. We do miss this, especially when you are not sure what day a program was broadcast or if you are just browsing for a drama or something. Small thing but would be great to have it back. Otherwise, top work. I'm loving not having to fire my PC/server up just for the radio :) BTW, one thing i have not thought about a great deal, but whats the situation with iPeng and Applets like these? Thanks, yes i realise the SB3 is not a clock and has no RTC like the boom, that was a badly worded example. What i mean is it will wake the server when it tries to contact the server for -anything-. If i switch the SB3 to SN, then probably not. I would still have to set all my players to SN at the same time, but even then other devices on my network can cause it to wake if i set "Only allow management stations to wake this computer", such as my laptop (as soon as i turn it on scanning for network drives etc will wake it). Basically any packet whatsoever destined for my server IP will. So it's not really an option for me. Sorry, i have not read the whole thread since i last posted. But i now have a boom (FW 45 with SC7.4b) and can't get iPlayer to work. Says its buffering up to 17%,then says now playing but no audio. No problems with other players in my house (SB3 etc). Anyone else seeing this weird behaviour - today i updated to the latest sc7.4b, and the iPlayer audio was sometimes playing extra fast (so they sound like chipmunks) or half speed. I'm really interested in this, but do the files need to be the same in itunes and SC? What i mean is that i have a seperate library for my SB3 (FLAC) and my iPods (MP3). Well it seems my problems were down to one particular build of Squeezecenter - after upgrading Last.FM is being recognised properly and i can access the config pages and it's in the internet radio menu of my SB3. However, it wont actually play/connect to the stream and i just get a genral error message. Anything i should be looking at here? Tried all of the above, still no joy. Check your paths and IP address for Slimserver. I used a batch file which is in the same folder as Softsqueeze so i only had to change the IP address. Bit pointles doing it though, unless we can do it without a Command windows open. Ok, that works. However when i run that way i am stuck with a Command line window (DOS box), which is even worse! The last thing the cmd windows has in it is "Connecting to slimserver". But it seems to all work ok and play the music fine when i select it in Slimserver. When i close the cmd box, the music stops. Once i was playing with Softsqueeze and it seem to 'crash', at least the interface and task bar button vanished. Howvever the audio still continued to play and i could control it still with Slimserver. It would be great if there was a way of doing this all the time. What i want to do is have it running in the background all the time and have a cable from my PC to the HiFi in the bedroom. As long as my PC was running, i could get my PSP/PDA out when i felt like it and start playing tunes without having to go to the PC and start softsqueeze. Is softsqueeze's dev about? I set SQ up start automatically when windows and slimsevrer starts. I would like to run it in the background all the time with no task bar button, just an icon in the system tray would be nice. Any device with a web browser can control Slimserver, as it's interface web based - PSP, PDA, Laptop, 770, Etc. If you wanted to use IR, you can get apps for Windows Mobile and Palm to do this, but the browser option is much better.
