While I'm perfectly fine with that (buy once and install on as many devices as you like), this may cause problems in the future, once I start enforcing a license check at startup. (I've not decided if I'll do that, but finding SqueezeCommander 10mins after a release on several warez sites is a bit frustrating...) Therefore, it may be better to install SlideME or Android Market (if that works) on the Fire and get an 'officially licensed' version. Both markets allow a re-installation on as many devices as you like. Yes, if you write good UI code that scales up nicely, it works pretty well. ;-) Most problems I had with making the current SC Honeycomb compatible were due to undocumented API changes. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeCommander 0.9.6.3 released
I've just released SqueezeCommander 0.9.6.3 to Android Market and SlideME. Major changes: - Completely reworked Sync behaviour (should work much better on slow NAS) - Catch lost/unconnected players - Added a workaround to avoid false DB resyncs (SBS issue) - Fixed a bug that caused the DB sync to stop sometimes - Added root ('/') as Download Storage option - Use AlbumArtist for Downloads - SBS DB Rescan can now be initiated (try the more button right of a server name) - Server Settings Web page can be opened (also at the more button) - Fixed some issues with the Spotify plugin - HomeMenu is fully customizable now (try the EditMode button in the top-left corner) - Improved LMS 7.7 support - Several bugfixes Have fun! -- flattermann Christian Home of 'SqueezeCommander' (http://www.squeezecommander.com) - The SqueezeBox Remote Control App for Android flattermann's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91422 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If you select 'Remove from list' the server will be removed but re-added automatically once it is discovered again. If you select 'Ignore server' it will be completely ignored, ie. never re-added. But you are right, I should probably auto-remove a server after X unsuccessful connection attempts. 2. The next version will at least save the last state (hidden/visible) and restore it after a restart. 3. Just use the Home button instead of the Back button in this case. It will stop the background service (after 10 seconds) but it will not destroy the activity until resources are needed. Android can, with some limitations, play MP3 and other formats, but AFAIK that only works if you connect to a http streaming source and let Android handle all the stuff on its own. For a SqueezeSlave port, you probably want to implement the SlimProto protocol and create your own buffer, but that will only work with PCM data (and not with MP3 or any other format). :-/ So, you either have to live with a PCM only stream (good luck using this over a 3G connection) or you need to also include a MP3 decoder library, but that implicates some licensing issues... Well, I can only talk about SqueezeCommander: I'm working on an integrated player for Squeeze Commander. The short term solution will probably be an "enhanced stream.mp3", i.e. the player will connect to the stream.mp3, but I will try to avoid some problems of the stream.mp3 like high latency. The major disadvantage will still be the need for a quite powerful CPU on the server side, i.e. a NAS without FPU will probably not work. You can connect to the stream.mp3 from the web player or any streaming app and afterwards control the stream by any Android Squeeze remote app (SqueezeCommander, SqueezeDroid, SqueezeControl...). Nevertheless, it would be a nice enhancement if e.g. SqueezeCommander would include playback. :-) -- flattermann Christian Home of 'SqueezeCommander' (http://www.squeezecommander.com) - The SqueezeBox Remote Control App for Android flattermann's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR-Blaster & Power Switch II
FYI: IR-Blaster works great with just the above mentioned IR-LED directly connected to the SB3 (without resistor). Using the 220 Ohm resistor does also work, but it decreases the IR range a bit... It also works flawlessly with SqueezeCommander! Maybe I should remove the volume bar on a player if it is controlled by IR-Blaster (i.e. replace the volume bar with volume up/down buttons), but I'm not sure, how to recognize an IR-Blaster controlled SqueezeBox (=fixed volume), yet... -- flattermann Home of 'SqueezeCommander' (http://www.squeezecommander.com) - The SqueezeBox Remote Control App for Android flattermann's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74965 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR-Blaster & Power Switch II
Felix, Thanks a lot for the clarification! Using both plugins in parallel may be nice to be able to *completely* power off the amp. E.g. my amp still drains a noticeable current when it is in standby mode... An IR controllable relais may work, but that's maybe a little overkill... I'll go to Conrad now and buy the necessary parts for both circuits, so that I can try them both. ;) But I think I will primarily use IR-Blaster afterwards. I'll buy these two parts for IR-Blaster, hoping they are right: http://www.conrad.de/ce/de/product/153818/IR-EMITTER-OSRAM-SFH485-T1-34 http://www.conrad.de/ce/de/product/405175/WIDERSTAND-KOHLE-05-W-5-220R-BF-0411 If it works, I'll add a comment to this thread. :) BTW: The *Boom's* headphone out is not supported by IR-Blaster, is it? -- flattermann Home of 'SqueezeCommander' (http://www.squeezecommander.com) - The SqueezeBox Remote Control App for Android flattermann's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74965 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] IR-Blaster & Power Switch II
I'd like to add support for these two plugins to SqueezeCommander. So, the first step is to get them working here. :) According to Felix's page http://www.gwendesign.com/slimserver/dev_hard_and_software.htm#powerswitchii it should be possible to use both plugins at the same time. I'll go to Conrad now and buy the necessary hardware, but I'm not sure about one thing: How do I connect the two circuits to my SB3? Apparently, I have only one headphone output on the SB3, so I'm not sure how to connect both of the circuits to the same SB3?! Is that possible at all? Thanks for your help!
