Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Is XM radio down again?
A big thanks to everyone for posting their comments on this thread - it helped me get up and running - I had a username over 20 characters which worked with their online listening but not with the app. Changing it to a non-email address worked for me. Hi Northern Bob, Some things to try/ questions: 1. Can you log in through the xmonline ui? http://www.xmradio.com/player/home/xmhome.action 2. Is your account in the US? 3. Do you have the premium online account? If not, you will need to select low bandwidth option in the xm plugin settings (where you have entered your password). jd -- jdc jdc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Mitch, This might be a red herring, but did you make sure the server has its 'date and time' plugin enabled? Or maybe it's corrupt? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Hi Mitch, Sorry for not being clear, it isn't in the SuperDateTime settings. It is actually in the general 'Date and Time' menu for that player. Instead, make sure you click on the top 'Player' tab, then choose the right player in the dropdown menu, and then in the dropdown menu beside it, choose 'Date and Time' jd +---+ |Filename: boom.PNG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8877| +-------+ -- jdc jdc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Hi Mitch, If I understand correctly, I think you can do that by going into settings, and then to the player tab, then choose the Date and Time menu and choose a format like: h:mm (12h) that doesn't have the pm in it. And from there, I think superdatetime honors that format, or at least it does for me on my boomboxes. jd -- jdc jdc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Neil, a very big thanks for getting this up and running again. Everything is working great for me, except that sync no longer works. I suspect this is now a limitation from the xm changes, as opposed to something simple not working in 3.5/7.4.x version? But I wanted to ask to be sure. I had a similar issue with SuperDateTime. I thought at the time because I was upgrading instead of a clean install from 7.3.x. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?
Well, I for one I was going to add a Radio to my mix and maybe a touch also, but will not be adding it or upgrading to 7.4 until it supports XM. I know when the latest xm plugin was actively developed, it was tested it against the 7.4 branch at the time, so I suspect it must have been a fairly recent change in that branch that broke this plugin. I guess we can only hope someone picks this back up... thanks wharfrat for looking. However, definitely I agree with Corbey - ideally this either this core stuff was owned by logitech and they updated it or even more ideally, if they really wanted a real plugin ecosystem, they'd focus more on having some stable apis that wouldn't break all the old plugins on every point release. jd -- jdc jdc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Nominations for Recommended 3rd Party Plugins
Is the list of plugins being updated with new ones as they come out? If so, I would definitely nominate the new xm radio plugin by Neil. It's a pretty big refresh, tested to work against 7.3-7.4, with new sync'd output, etc. Very good stuff. I know xm online support was one of the reasons I originally bought a boom, and then two... and vice versa, why I now pay for their service. Just sent in my promised $25. Thanks again for the excellent upgrade. I hope enough is raised to get you a boom to hear your plugin working sync'd! Pippin - as far as I know, yes, both sat and online are separate for the near future. In my opinion, it doesn't make sense to do it that way. I was surprised they kept the xm online interface in this latest rev when they upgraded to 128kbs. One more quick update... I turned on sync'ing between two booms and to my great surprise it seems to be working. This was definitely not the case with the old version, and is of huge benefit to me. I did experience one stop/drop this morning where I had to restart, hopefully will be rare, but I think it happened before 3 hours. Finally, this looks like a major rewrite/upgrade, thanks Neil! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.3 and XM radio
I'm in the same boat - its working very well with my boom except for the menu button missing. That said, the fav trick works: you can add any xm station as a favorite by specifying the station's number with the xmradio qualifier. For example, for station 204, NHL, I made the following favorite entry: xmradio://204 And in fact this actually is working better than ever - it looks like you fixed it so that I don't have to log in first, I just go to it and it works! (Good thing too, since there's no option on my boom.) Perhaps these fav's are a pain to setup one time, but after that, very convenient, and no limitations in the number of favs you can have, unlike presets. I've already made a bunch in an XM subfolder and will be listening to them all tomorrow. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.3 and XM radio
Well, I'm not going to comment on the companies financial woes, customer service, market strategy, etc. - I'm still a fan of XM and hope they stick around because I like the content, pure and simple. That said, some good news, I think, at least for users of the plugin on 7.2.x. It looks like they are keeping their existing infrastructure in place (at least for now) and the old xm plugin will continue to work on 7.2.1. They haven't upgraded my account yet (nor a lot of others, as per the angry users on the xmfan forum) but I signed up for a trial account that does have the 128kbps feed, and I'm able to log in with the xm plugin. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Death knell for XM on the SB?
I think its very much up in the air. I for one will be paying to continue xm online provided I can get it on my SB - still cheaper than a second xm receiver - and will be very happy with the higher bitrates. (I understand I may be in the minority, but doubt I'm alone). Best case, they will integrate XM and Sirius online services and then we can then use the Sirius plug-in. This might make a lot of sense for everyone - it will be the same bitrates, same stations (basically)... would probably greatly simplify their (merged?) online departments. If not, I'll consider trying to write a new plug-in myself, if no one else steps up. Not sure the best approach- fork from the Sirius plugin, or the old XM plugin, or it might also be cool to go the general dlna client approach, connected to uXM, which would have some other advantages. (Or maybe Vortexbox will do it!) We'll see after the changeover - worst case and I have to start coding, I think it would be silly to start until after they've done whatever they're going to do to their feeds in mid-March. -- jdc jdc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59364 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
